Lamrock Cafe is super cool and chill and has a cool owner. We stopped here after we completed the Bondi to Coogee Beach Coastal Walk. However, we started at Coogee Beach and ended at Bondi. We wanted somewhere to just relax and enjoy the weather. We decided to stop at Lamrock. It was a good decision. We had small bites to eat, fresh pressed juices and pinã colada. The owner was super welcoming and knowledgeable about hip hop and r&b music. We chatted with her as well as listened to some good old r&b classics. She played music by Anita Baker, Lauren Hill, Luther Vandross, and many more!! She was dope! We ordered a Caesar Salad with bacon and I had a fresh pressed juice. My husband, his sister, and her husband all had pinã coladas. The salad was very good. It was simple but flavorful l. The fresh pressed juice was really good as well. I think you can pick up to three ingredients. If I remember correctly, I think I had pineapple, orange, and ginger. It was fruity and refreshing! We sat here for about 1.5-2 hrs just talking, listening to music, enjoying the weather, and people watching. Overall, Lamrock was a dope, cute cafe on the beach with good vibes!

'Ello chaps! Lamrock Café is located on a corner across the street from the world famous Bondi Beach. They have a great selection of breakfast and lunch items. Service is superb and the food quite delicious. BONUS they also offer FREE Wifi for guests, which is actually the biggest sales point as we were traveling from out of country with wifi being our only means to get online and check for information, directions, etc. The meals were of hearty serving sizes and good value. Overall I give Lamrock Café five stars out of five.

Absolutely pumping Christmas Day, sadly no peanut butter on toast but great raisin toast. Coffee was as ordered the fresh Mango smoothie hit the spot, good service, great view from inside of Bondi Beach, good vibe and tunes a must see if in Bondi!

You've been backpacking, right? Good. Think back to how fun the kitchen staff was at each of the hostels. How eating your meals together around shabby, wooden tables with cheap Italian wine and compelling conversation were some of your best memories. How the meals were simple, but the people were so friendly and open and you were so happy to be home and warm that somehow it was some of the most delicious and certainly affordable food on your entire journey. (Note: If these were *not* some of your fondest memories, but rather some of your most disgusting, you might want to skip this review and move on.) This, in the best way possible, is how I felt when eating at the new-ish take on the Lamrock Cafe. Outside of the sweeping views, there was nothing fancy about the place or the food. You can expect to have your order taken by three different people, only to have two different people bring your order and bus your table. But everyone was so friendly, the service (although confusing) was quick, and the food was simple, affordable and exactly what you need for a relaxing day at the beach.

Came here for coffee, went back for breakfast. It was a freezing cold morning and we stopped for a hot chocolate and latte- and they warmed our souls and pleased our pallets. After the coastal hike we went on we had to come back for breakfast! We enjoyed mimosas, with freshly squeezed orange juice, pancakes and halloumi- it was a perfect way to fuel us back up for the rest of the day! They provided blankets and binoculars to comfortably watch what is happening on Bondi Beach. When I go back to Australia, I definitely want to go back to this cool, beach front cafe.

Straightaway you'll know that this place is a family business. This place is conveniently located, when the surrounding competitors are full this place will have space for you. The ambience is very nicely decorated & clean (but toilet is bit too small & you can see staff's belongings), which is a winning 'convenience' point! Food-wise is a typical Aussie breakfast. They're filling, but nothing too special about it. Coffee is also nice but as a coffee lover, I don't think it's the best. Plus, service can be improved. Asked for a tap water & never got one as we were about to leave! We were also pressurised to order - which is not too nice for my sis in law who's a visitor from another country (by the same waiter who forgot the tap water). :( The one thing that made it a good experience for me was personal reason. It's weekend and I cldnt take my family elsewhere and I enjoyed their company. We also enjoyed the view and the place.

This is the frappe with no sugar/milk/honey, except it came with sugar/milk/honey...

This experience just reminded me of being in a hostel where the staff are arrogant, don't give a rats ass about their customers and just want to argue for the sake of it... Asked the barista if they could do a coffee frappe without sugar for health reasons (they had coffee frappe on the menu and on a chalk board) all was good. Ordered two coffee frappes and specified to the waitress "no sugar, honey or milk", she acknowledged the order. After 20 minutes (not sure why a frappe without milk/sugar/honey takes so long on a Monday lunch time with the restaurant at maybe 60% capacity, it's only meant to be instant coffee mixed with Icy water and frothed) something resembling a milk shake is served, topped with cinnamon and sugar granules!!!tasted it in case it was fake sugar and it was as sweet a Maccas Thick Shake, and instead of being a dark instant coffee colour, it just looked like milk!!! Waited another 5 minutes for the waitress that never came back (the old leathery angry waitress), chased her down before leaving and said we can't drink the drink as its full of sugar/milk and we find out later also honey, our parking was expiring and couldn't waste anymore time, and we aren't paying for the drinks as we can't consume them and it isn't what we ordered. Waitress demands angrily that it doesn't have sugar/milk/honey in it "it only has cinnamon", back and forth for 30 seconds, waitress is adamant I'm wrong, barista comes out and says "the frappé has milk/sugar/honey in it", boss blames the waitress, I blame them all as the waitress was trying to make diabetics drink sugar/honey/milk in a very unprofessional tone (smart ass like), the boss says "next time order an "iced coffee" as their frappé has milk/sugar/honey in it (even though a frappe is meant to be simply instant coffee mixed with iced water and frothed up, and the customer sometimes then ads milk/sugar to it them selves if they wish). I'm not sure about the rest of their drinks and food, but their frappes aren't frappes at all, they are MILKSHAKES or SMOOTHIES!!! Please, if you want to serve coffees and frappes, at least google how to do it first, at least call it the right name to avoid confusion, and finally get less aggressive wait staff that doesn't just lie to people about what they are consuming, just imagine if I was a kid with a peanut allergy and you serve them peanuts and promise the parents there isn't any peanut in the food... If the waitress or the boss just said "I'm sorry for the mix up" instead of blaming me for their stupid wrong name of their product and the waitress lying about what was in my so called "frappe", all would have been ok and I would have just left it as a mistake that didn't need to be reviewed on social media... Mistakes will happen, but blaming the customer for something that wasn't my mistake is pretty poor form...

It was really overpriced and the bathroom was really gross. The electricity was not working and they couldn't cook the chips.

Located in the popular "The Rocks" tourist area, it is full of charm and staffed by the friendliest folks you'll meet in Sydney. You felt happy just walking by the place. It was full of energy and bustle. We ate there twice, once for breakfast and, since we liked it so much, went back for dinner. Both were outstanding. Service was great. For dinner, I was just in the mood for a simple Burrata Salad and a Spaghetti Bolognaise. Now, the Rocks is not an Italian place, but their versions of these dishes were among the best I've ever had. My partner had the fish and chips, and raved about that too. If you can prepare such simple dishes so beautifully, I can imagine how good the other items on the menu must be. When we left, the woman I imagined to be an owner gave us a wonderful thank you and farewell. THIS is the way to run a small tourist spot!

Inside wasn't bad, the table was big and the chairs comfortable. We were waited on immediately. Servers fly around like dancers, it's actually pretty impressive. Our food arrived in no time. My wife had fish and chips and I had lamb and rosemary pie. She enjoyed her meal. Mine was different than I've had before. It was still ok but I wouldn't order it again. Others would probably like it, it just wasn't for me. We didn't have any dessert but as you walk in the door they have some wonderful looking pies and cakes. Do yourself a favor and save room for one of those. I messed up and didn't try something. This is actually a really cool restaurant that I would like to try again. I wouldn't let one dish that didn't hit my taste buds keep me away.

So I did! They don't take reservations for their 5-6pm happy hour. You can only line up at 5pm when they open. We got there right before 5pm, and there were probably 10 to 12 people in line. Once the doors opened we were led downstairs to the bar area. It's a very dark, and feels like you've been transported to another time and place. We decided to try one of each of the food items on the happy hour: - Duck Parfait - Good. Classic French item and they do it well. - Brandade d'anguilles fumée - OK. I know it's eel, but wasn't very distinct from any other fish. My least favourite dish. - Saucisson Sec - Good. Simple. - Fleur de Courgette - Very good. Delicate and delicious. I should've ordered two of these. - Normandy Burger - Very good. The one item my friends raved about, and it was clear why. A burger with the best ingredients is hard to matched. I got the extra side of fries which is equally good. Best dish of the meal. Service was relatively good, except at one point they asked if I wanted mayo for my fries (very French) and I said yes, but it never came. Other than that, quite good. This was easily my favourite meal of my trip, holding up to high expectations. I would return on my next trip to Sydney.

I highly recommend getting here early to get a seat during Happy Hour and stay after to enjoy some live jazz after 6PM. The restaurant was easy to locate with a sign upfront. The entrance is just a door in the wall with spiraling stairs leading you to an underground jazz bar and restaurant. It's upscale and romantic, but several other people were dressed casually. We sat on a shared table with three other strangers until we ordered off the full menu and our Chicken Fricassée arrived. The service is top notch and everyone was attentive, polite, and kind. We started off with the happy hour menu and ordered the Duck Parfait. I didn't know what to expect. The croutons were crispy and delicate and the duck liver was easy to spread and airy. The Normandy Burger was juicy and the bread was fluffy. But the star of the night Chicken Fricassée - wow! Incredibly tender, juicy, and garlicy. The sauce had a mashed potato buttery, smooth texture. Absolute must get.
