It's a beautiful location. We came off season in January, it was one of the few places open for lunch. The service was friendly and welcoming. The locals seem to enjoy having drinks and hanging out together. It's a nice friendly atmosphere. The food prices are on the higher/tourist side, the food overall good not great. My cousin and I woke up early to get ourselves some good coffee, pastries, and watch the sunrise on the beautiful Monterosso beach. My cappuccino was delicious. Idk how they do it, but Italians know what they're doing with espresso. My cousin couldn't stop getting espresso in Italy, and at this place, it was no different. I got the Pesto Focaccia and my cousin got a pastry and it was so lovely and relaxing to just enjoy all of it with the view of the ocean right there. It's quick, inexpensive, delicious, and has a great view. Can't beat that for breakfast. read more

Extremely rude servers. Over the top rude and dismissive. We are always very polite and this meal was no exception. They ignored us once we asked if we could please sit, finally came back 45 minutes later after resulting in needing to request to place an order (while we watched them stand around), they pretended to not understand English as we pointed at items and asked for them please, acted very confused and unkind, only to hear them speaking full, fluent English a few minutes later. Example: because we were given NO typical service such as drinking water, salt & pepper, etc. we asked for water to drink and they said "you want toilet?" No, water to drink, at the table please. I then requested olive oil. Olive oil of all things, in Italy! Had to say it 4 times before they pretended to finally understand. Again, same servers who we heard be fluent in English. Just so, so rude. And very disappointing after a long travel day to get to this area. The food once it arrived? Flat out burnt lasagna, BLAND pasta with zero flavor, inedible. They just threw the plates down and walked away. No checking in on us, no remark about the very obviously burnt food. I ate nothing but we still smiled and paid the bill. best meal in cinque terre- unexpectedly for sure lol -arrived in ct late, this was the only spot open, but omg it hit everyth we were looking for, cheap and tasty and fresh -right by the water too -pesto and the seafood linguine and the calamari mixed fish...perfect portion sizes tons of seafood hot and fresh -now im back in dc where a seafood pasta is 40$ w minimal seafood, except @redhen shoutout loml, so tragic -I forget the waiters name but he was the best -bread does suck tho but just dont eat it..also overall the free table bread in europe is just stale and bad..its not the meal who cares read more

They also ask the bartender to take your payment, which isn't exactly efficient- this led to angry stares from the bartender. Hey- I'm not the one who came up with the arrangement so no need to get impatient with me! - Bread, Free (3/5) Surprised to get free bread. It was just ok and there was no olive oil provided. - Set Menu, 14€ - Trofie Pasta Pesto (2/5) Definitely boxed pasta. The pasta was soft and not al dente. And the pesto was actually a little bit sour. - Tuna Salad (1/5) This is the kind of salad I might've put together late in the evening in college. Canned tuna, canned corn, some random mozzarella balls and bagged lettuce. - Value (2/5) In spite of the cheap lunch price, it's actually quite poor value, with no care taken for the food. It's, at best, American style cafeteria food. - Final Word In hindsight when we saw the words "tourist menu", we should have run for the hills. Instead, foolishly we stayed, and paid the price. We sat down due to the view of the beach and highly regret it. 2 out the 4 of us came down with an awful stomach bug that ruined the remainder of their stay in Cinque Terre. Overall, it was a decent meal. We had the spaghetti with mixed seafood which was the best dish. It had octopus, shrimp, clams, and mussels in a very nice tomato and garlic sauce. We tried the tuna carpaccio but ended up with the smoked versus raw. That might have been the fact we don't read Italian :). The anchovy bruschetta was nice but really salt...which is all part of eating B anchovies. They have a nice patio above the beach and we stayed dry during the rain that rolled through. With so many good places to eat i don't think we'll come again while in Monterosso. read more

If.you are reading thisninstrthis recommend you to not try this restaurant the food was not.good whatsoever, they offer a tourist menu that sounds like a good deal, but the food honest ly is really bad, not t mention that even if you are consuming and ordering from their menu they are going to charge you for using their tables an extra € 2 per person. The waitress is very rude and unaproachable, so forget about asking for an extra lemon orbanother drink. The calamary wasn't fresh and the pasta was one of those frozen meals. Sat outside with a view. We were really hungry and ordered pasta, lasagne, bruschetta and a Greek salad. Everything was delicious. The service was quick and attentive. And in the beginning of January, with some actual warm sun and a pretty view, we're happy as can be. Prices seem reasonable as well. read more

Omg the fly's!! Don't eat anything from the case here unless you like a ton of flys all over your food. We tried to stop in for a glass of wine before dinner from the start to finish it was gross. The wine all 3 glasses were horrid. 2 of witch we had enjoyed at either the winery or another restaurant in town. Steer clear of this place the food looks gross our pesto pasta came from a jar witch is fine in this region the pesto is amazing. Service is horrid. My wife and I came here 3 times during our stay in Monterosso, once for lunch and twice for breakfast. One reason was that it was one of the few places open in the November off season. It was good though and the prices are more than fair. It is a popular hangout for the locals as well who congregated there to chat and shoot the s**t. When I came to this coastal town last summer, it was a raining, and I needed some coffee. I can't remember if I ordered a latte/cappuccino/mocha but I do remember it was some of the best coffee I had in Europe. Loved the view from the outside tables and the cover from the rain. read more

Insalata fantasia (salad with tuna and shrimp),was average. The penne Alla arrabbiatta was good with a subtle spice at the end. The sangria had a hint of cinnamon liquer or spice that made it special. The fruit was average. read more
