This place is an absolute gem for a quick Lemon or Aperol Spritz. Tucked away in an alley just off the beach, the people-watching and overall vibes are spectacular. They serve you olives, capers, and peanuts to snack on while you enjoy some shade and classical music to accompany your refreshments. The owner, Mary, is one of the kindest people you'll ever meet. During our stay in Monterosso al Mare my girlfriend and I visited Enotaca Da Eliseo every day--sometimes twice in one day. It was our home away from home in this lovely seaside paradise. Each afternoon we stopped by to relax with a few glasses of wine before dinner--and sometimes for a nightcap after dinner. The proprietor is so friendly and helpful. She always had wonderful wine recommendations for us and gave us great service. We bought a couple bottles of phenomenal limoncino to bring home with us (try the local "antica" limoncino--it's a bit more expensive but so smooth and not cloying and syrupy like others). Definitely stop by when you're in town. read more

Stopped here to try some wine while in Monterosso. We were on the Cinque Terre tour so had limited time in the town. First, we tried to get some wine at the restaurant across the path from here. But, they would not let us order wine if we were not getting food too. So, we were happy to take our business here instead. The waitress here was great and able to recommend some wines. I tired one of the Cinque Terre white wines, I forget which one but it was delicious. They brought out little snacks with our drinks which was nice, like peanuts and olives. Definitely recommend stopping here from some good wine. It's affordable too. read more

Amazing amazing amazing! Eliseo and Mary are the most gracious couple we have met in Italy. We had drinks here a few nights we were in Monterosso. We later found out rick steves specifically mentions them in his book. The drinks were of great variety and price and were so delicious! We got a special limoncello. Although I very much liked the interior of this place I just had to sit outside and enjoy the warmest March day I think I have ever experienced! They offered a couple of beers from the Forst brewery (which sounds German but is not). I had the Doppel Bock which the bartender described as his favourite Italian beer. He also said it was a pale ale. Pale ale it wasn't but it was both interesting and tasty! Freebie snacks were brought out, as is often the case in Italy. Olives, nuts and something like 'frollo del cappero' which were these white bean...things. They were serenading us with the best of the late Signore Pavarotti. Really glad we stopped here for a drink. We were visiting all the villages on a tour for the day and we had just under an hour before moving on. I had the Sangria then the local Limoncino which was very good. They were playing Pavaroti and other similar music in the background which made it even nicer. The best thing was that their WC was immaculate. Our tour guide had been telling us all day that the WCs wouldn't be good, so when I used there's it was such a pleasant surprise. read more

Great spot to grab a glass of a local specialty such as a Cinque Terre red wine, a limoncello, a orange spritz (surprisingly not sweet) or the local sweet wine Sciacchetra- a special traditional wine made locally mostly from the Bosco grape- after it has been carefully hand selected and allowed to dry to a raisin. A round of drinks got us a tray with tiny dishes of snacks- salted peanuts, green olives and fruit of the caper plant. Lovely spot on the square to people watch. read more

A must stop when in Monterosso! This family-owned bar is the perfect place to stop for some drinks, of which I highly recommend the lemon spirtzer, made up of lemon cino and prosecco. The woman who waited on us was very accommodating, bringing snacks to us with our drinks. You can watch tourists walking up and down the narrow streets from the outside seating and just enjoy the weather and views. The only downside is that this is a place exclusively for drinks, not food. read more

We stayed in the Cinque Terre three nights and came to Eliseo's each night before dinner -- loved the little snacks (peanuts, caper berries and olives) that came with each round of drinks. There was enough of a variety of drinks for us, including the spritz (or aperativo) that's the latest rage in Italy right now. The service was great and we just found it to be a nice setting, even with the indoor tables, and great service. I stopped in for a beer after a long hike. At 3pm on a Saturday the crowd was light so I was served right away. The Vienna lager was cold and refreshing. It went well with the bruschetta with pesto and Pomodoro. The restaurant is on the Main Street so a great place for people watching and ambience. Staff speaks enough English to make ordering easy. Wine tasting seems to be a specialty but I did not partake in that activity. Locals appear to frequent here for meals...that's always a good sign. read more

Decent wine bar--not a good place to stop with kids as there is not adequate food options--I had become accustomed to Enotecas that have family style seating and snacks and thought this would be the same. We found this lovely spot on Yelp so we felt compelled to put in our thoughts as well. The couple that run this place were so wonderful and friendly, they even secured us a table at a very delicious and hard to get into restaurant across the street as a favor. The wine and little snacks were delicious and ambiance was relaxing and great for people watching. I wish we could have gone back again but we were only there for a day trip from Florence so we will just have to go back again for a longer stay next time! read more

60 kinds of grappa. A very dangerous place but if you want to know about local wines or grappa in general, this is the place. Located in the central square of the old part of Monerossa al Mare, plain to visit in the early evening for wine and then as your evening ends for grappa. Oh my gosh. We ordered the three pasta dish and it was incredible. It also came with the best bread I've ever had that was cooked perfectly and warm. The house white wine was very good and only €2,50. Our waiter was very nice and spoke English well. I definitely recommend coming here. read more
