I believe the gentleman that was taking care of us was the owner, he was very nice and explained a bit how the popcorn was made and packed. We got the blueberry in the two sizes to take home to family and for my work to share. We asked if the popcorn would keep for at least 5 days sealed since we had a while before we headed back home to our hometown. We tried some for the first time when our family opened the popcorn and was pleasantly surprised at how delish it was. Still crunchy too!! Not stale at all! Everyone that we shared it with had never tried blueberry popcorn and they thought it was yummy. Not too sweet perfectly balanced. The food, the ambiance, the service was all 10/10! The popcorn is the most amazing popcorn I think I've ever tasted. I've tried the original, blueberry, and cheddar flavors and all are perfect. The popcorn itself has an exquisite texture and the owner puts in the perfect amount of ingredients for what you are getting. Best. Popcorn. Ever. Nice owner, delicious product, decent shop hours, GREAT take-home container. This is a small shop that faces the Village Green in Bar Harbor. They make the popcorn on-site and sell it in lidded plastic containers. The tubs with tops are one of my favorite aspects of this shop! We bought 2 large containers ($20 each) but don't have to rush to eat it because the nice containers keep it fresh for days. Perfect! I absolutely love the blueberry flavor. It's not too sweet or and doesn't taste like artificial blueberry either (they make it using a blueberry purée). My spouse's favorite is the cheddar, which he says is the best cheese popcorn he's ever eaten. Conveniently, it's open 11-5:30 every day of the week (at least it is now, during the summer season). This was our 2nd time in Bar Harbor and our 2nd time at this shop. I can't imagine going to Bar Harbor in the future and not going to this place! read more

Visited Bar Harbor Popcorn back in 2016 and was delighted to find them in the same location again. This place has the best popcorn ever. The kernels are enormous, fresh and delicious. You won't find unpeopled kernels in the bottom of the bag or tub. There are many flavors to choose from but I'm a fan of natural pop corn and purchased a big tub. Bar Harbor Popcorn is a small shop with no place to sit. The counter doubles up as popcorn tanks, and they welcome sampling of their wares. Their popcorn flavors are tasty and their corn pop up fluffy and round. With their popcorn going for $5.50 for a small, $8 for a medium tub (10oz), and $13.50 for large (28 oz), I went big to take home and asked for a combo of blueberry and maple. The flavors were scooped such that they sat in layers, so I had to eat enough maple before I could shuffle the rest aside so I could reach the blueberry. They told me the tub was airtight and would keep the popcorn fresh for a week. I'll have to remember to bring my tub the next time I head out to Bar Harbor, as they offer a dollar off on tub refills. read more

This really is good popcorn. I guess caramel corn is standard, cheesy corn and kettle corn. But a person needs skills to package a good butter popcorn, so you can taste the butter flavor and feel a little grease but the popcorn is stable and won't go rancid. This popcorn really delivers the buttery flavor, the popcorn "experience" in a handy plastic go-anywhere tub. I'm going to mail order some, it's that good. read more

DELICIOUS! Funny that we were on a cruise that had a Popcorn Frappe on the menu in one of the cafe's but they couldn't make me the drink for a few days because they didnt have any popcorn. So when we got out in Maine (one of the stops), we stumbled into this popcorn shop so we purchased a few popcorn flavors so I can finally have my drink. The staff here is really friendly and the popcorn flavors are delicious. My favorite was the blueberry flavor. Wow. They do popcorn right! We popped in on a cold October afternoon for some popcorn. My wife's got the caramel corn and declared it to be the best she has ever had. I had the sweet and salty. It was excellent. It is a tiny store, and it smells delicious. We we warmly greeted and encouraged to taste before bought. He made a point of sealing our purchase in a plastic bag to keep it fresh. This is more of an old-fashioned popcorn shop, not the newfangled type with 57 outlandish flavors (although those can be fun and tasty too). They offer four varieties: plain/butter, caramel, maple, and blueberry. They use real Maine maple syrup and real Maine wild blueberries, and those flavors are subtle and fresh tasting, not sugary. I stumbled on this place while on vacation simply because we parked in front of the store. Boyfriend loves blueberries so we decided to check it out after we grabbed dinner and walked around for a bit. Like the other reviews stated: they have 3 flavors - maple, caramel, and blueberry. The maple is boyfriend's favorite. The sweetness is light so that it never (and I mean never) gets sickening. In terms in taste, think of a perfectly roasted marshmallow. Literally the best caramelization I've ever had on a popcorn. The caramel flavor was very good. Normally I'm not a fan of the overly sweet caramel but it was definitely worth trying here. Again they find the balance of sweet very well so that you don't get too tired of it. The owner said it was the best selling flavor, with blueberry a very close second, and maple a very close third. Finally, my absolute favorite flavor: blueberry! Like other reviewers, I also hate the artificial blueberry taste so I've always steered clear of getting blueberry flavored things. But the blueberries used on this popcorn are the real deal. Maine wild blueberries are the best. So sweet and perfect! You can see bits of blueberries on the popcorn and you feel like you're eating an actual blueberry. We got the $7 (medium) bucket and it lasted us a good amount of time. They pack the bucket full to the point where it pushes against the lid when closed. Definitely a good deal and a must go-to when in Bar Harbor! read more

They offered us up some samples right away and were super friendly. Got talking to the owner and had a great conversation on Vermont vs Maine maple syrup. Heard how he came to have maple syrup and blueberry flavored popcorn. Ended up going maple syrup because is something we've never had. My family of five demolished the tub and declared it a flavor victory. I'm always hesitant with different flavors not knowing if there will be a weird aftertaste and this didn't. Was awesome!!! One of my favorite popcorn places. Such a cute, authentic, family owned popcorn shop. Spent about 5 days in Bar Harbor, ME and visited this place multiple times during our stay. Popcorn comes in a variety of delicious flavors -- each as good as the next one! Blueberry, a Maine staple, was different and delicious. I am partial to the salty sweet -- a gentle kettle corn flavor. The popcorn can be taken on the go -- we brought ours on our Whale Watch, back to the hotel for a movie night, and with us for a night under the stars on Sand Beach in Acadia. My wife and I went to Bar Harbor Popcorn during its first week in existence (which was last week)! What a great little shop in Bar Harbor with local, "Maine flavors." The place only offers three different flavors -- caramel corn, Maine wild blueberry and Maine maple -- but boy, have they perfected them! In fact, the owners told us it took them around 6 months to tweak the recipes to get those flavors just right. The Waymans (the owners) were very friendly, and told us how and why they started the shop in the first place. My wife and I were certainly able to reap the rewards, too! We sampled all three flavors, and ended up buying a bag of the blueberry. It's so delicious! A very "Maine flavor."
