We love Momo's Cheesecakes and the whoopie pies!!! We loved them so much that we had to drive back by on our way out of town. There are so many flavors that it is hard to pick a favorite but I would say that you have to start with the blueberry and add on from there. We also love the pistachio and the Oreo but you really can't go wrong. The entire concept is genius and it's amazing how many pieces of cake there are and the wide variety! I also think it is great for kids to see the honor system at work. I love everything about this business!!!!

A 24 hours AND self serve cheesecake spot? Of course I had to check it out when I was in the Bar Harbor area. The space is filled with fridges with a ton of variety of flavors. I decided on the blueberry cheesecake and it was seriously one of the best cheesecakes I've had! Make sure you stop by and check them out if you're in the area!

I've only had a few different slices here so far, but every single one was very good. It does tend to get pretty packed, which is my only complaint, but it makes sense given how delicious everything is.

I have friends that live within an hour of Momo's, that mentioned this is where they go to pick up something delicious for birthdays, holidays, and really any gathering or party of one LOL. I'm not in the area but one or 2 times a year, so I started following them on Social media as a reminder that when I am in the area, I know to stop by. This place is one of the best 24 hour self serve shops I have EVER been to. I have been to farm stands, but a dessert stand (shop)?!?!? COME ON! Seriously amazing. It's connected to their home, there is parking in front of the store and a few to the right side of the building. If the spots are full, just carefully pull to the side of the road and patiently wait as people are coming and going pretty frequently. The place is so cute! Coolers are stocked with so many delicious treats. Mostly cheesecakes, but they also had carrot cake and whoopie pies and perhaps more that I didn't see, because I was so excited my head was kind of spinning :) Everything is well labeled, the prices are streamlined and there is a cheat sheet on the center table with payment instructions. They sell slices of cheesecakes, they also have a few variety platters available as well. There are post it notes all over the walls with customers love and thank you messages. I left one as well, just to express our thanks for what they provide. I cannot wait to visit again soon. I highly recommend Momo's for delicious homemade cheesecake!

Go. Pick some flavors. Pay your way. Enjoy. Cute little spot right in route to Bar Harbor. Added 7 minutes to our drive. Self service and honor system payment. We will be back!

This is definitely not one of those places where it's all hype. The hype is real, and if you have to take a detour from your trip, I highly suggest it. We were heading up to Northern Maine and just happened to be in Freeport and from there we headed to Boothbay and after Boothbay, we went to Momo's Cheesecakes . Parking can be a little tight as this is at somebody's house in a way. They put in a shed area for their business. It seems to be family owned and run. The son and the husband were the only ones that I came in contact with. Both of them greeted us and were so nice. The sun was extremely helpful to one customer who asked about gluten-free options which there is some. There were so many flavors to choose from. Of course we couldn't just choose one. I did opt for a classic flavor, strawberry cheesecake. The strawberry topping was delicious, but the cheesecake itself was honestly out of this world. It was extremely creamy no chunks. It had the perfect thickness of crust sometimes it's either too thin or too thick. My daughter got an almond joy my husband got pineapple, cheesecake, and the Elvis. My husband thoroughly enjoyed his slices. The interior is so cute . There's post notes all over with cute notes written. There is a sign in book. It was also extremely clean.

Absolutely amazing selection of cheesecakes in a self-serve, 24 hour store front. The variety of cheesecakes here is amazing and if you're in the area you can easily eat a different cheesecake every day of the month. Cheesecakes are sold in single slices, by the pie (pre-order) or a variety pack. You can mix and match and the more you buy the bigger the discount. Every single slice of cheesecake and the whoopie pie we picked up was fresh and delicious.

Found this place though TikTok/IG. It's opened 24/7, and is a honor system when it comes to paying. We went at like 10pm, and there was still a lot of different selections to choose from. (And there was still a steady stream of people coming in and out) We got the blueberry and original cheesecakes, both of which were amazing and would come back for. There are also post-it notes lined across the wall with notes from where everyone came from, which was really cool.

After following Momo's on social media for a few years we finally stopped off at her place to pick up a few cheesecake slices on our way up to Bar Harbor. Her place is just like 2 miles past the downtown Ellsworth Main Street. Its self service open 24 hours honor system. You can pay via venmo or cash. Parking is right in front. She has little mini boxes to put your cheesecake slices in. They are around $8 per slice. She also offers full sized cheesecakes and full sized cheesecakes with 3 or 4 flavors of slices for a nice variety. They also offer fudge, baklava, carrot cake and I'm sure other things I'm forgetting. Definitely worth a stop to pick up a yummy fun flavored cheesecake. Our fave flavors were Caramel Apple Cheesecake and White Chocolate Macademia.

Amazing, delicious, superb, perfection in all bites. This roadside stop was so worthwhile a gem of a cheesecake bakery. We tried pumpkin, and an Andes candies. We also got a carrot cake and a lemon blueberry cake. Everything was fresh fresh fresh, dense and delightful with unbelievable flavor. The place is super cute, easy to pay with Venmo and we left a sticky note souvenir from Kate & Mike

Probably the best cheesecake I've ever had- went twice on my four day trip up to Acadia. They all were standouts but the smore's was delectable and blueberry lemon just so refreshing. Dense without being heavy and definitely get more than one to share (carve out some extra time while you're in there to be indecisive about which flavor you want). Awesome vibe and worth a stop 100%

It's been a while. I figured there would be new, and hopefully friendlier, staff. I was half right. There was new staff, but unfortunately, they were as unwelcoming as the last batch. This place has no prices on any of the premade sandwiches or pastries in their cases (why??), so we asked "Hey there, how much are your pies and cookies?". The employee was in the lobby sweeping and said "I'm not sure. Somewhere between $3- $5. Maybe more". She doesn't look up. Doesn't offer more clarity. She just shrugged this non-answer to us and carried on. It was awkward. So my husband, trying to make light of it, says "Sounds like it's up for debate so how about I give you $2.50" and this girl gives us a dour look and snaps "Well, I'm not behind the cash register so I can't look at the prices, can I?". So, we have now learned our lesson with this place twice. Not sure what it is about the culture there that results in such bad service years apart and by different people. We won't be returning.

Seriously, this pie is so good you might have to admit it's better than your grandmother's. The location is tucked away on the main road in and out of Bar Harbor. It's so cute! Mount Desserts Pie Company had thousands of positive reviews, so we decided that's where we had to go. When you arrive, there is a handmade sign on the side of the highway for the shop and the driveway to pull in is a little tricky and takes a minute to figure it out. We pulled up right in front of the doors. Tip: turning right after you enter the driveway says "exit" only, so you have to pull straight ahead, even if it seems like you're not supposed to park there. We headed inside and were greeted by a friendly woman named Brit who had a ton of pie boxes ready to go! We got our blueberry pie and ate half of it in the car after we drove away. The pie was exactly what we wanted: fresh, local, great texture, and buttery crust. It was perfection! Another tip: it's cash or Venmo only and you can call ahead. $35 per pie. But if you want honest food at today's prices, pull up a chair. The lobster roll was a revelation. Not that mayonnaise-based lobster purée somebody scraped out of a tub and smeared onto a bun that had been sitting around since the Carter administration. This was real chunks of lobster, lightly seasoned, piled onto a fresh roll and left alone to taste like lobster. Then came the steamers. Sweet mercy. Those steamers were the best thing I have tasted since 1974, and I'm not entirely sure what happened in 1974, but apparently somebody knew how to steam a clam. The service was excellent--friendly, attentive and without the usual modern-day restaurant ritual of wondering whether your server has forgotten you exist. The décor? Let's just say aging fish camp chic. If you're looking for polished brass and a chandelier imported from France, keep driving. If you want the feeling that somebody might walk in carrying a cooler full of flounder, you're home. For the love of all that is holy, give this place a try. Come hungry. Leave happy. The employees were fun and they made the experience nicer. The next day it was time for lunch and my husband said lets go back to the Traveling Lobster, I said (and later regretted) no let's try somewhere else. We tried a place with a catchy lobster name and the teenage boy, behind the counter of the takeout as he handed us our change said, you're leaving me a tip - right? In unison we both said no. I added we don't tip workers at McDonalds, we're not tipping you and even if we did, we wouldn't tip you because of your demand, he walked away nonplussed, to add insult to injury the food was mediocre for the price. Later that afternoon we tried another lobster stand, and it was worse; the food was terrible for the price, we ordered a side of lobster mac and cheese and there was not a shred of lobster in it, we ended up taking it back and getting our money. Starving, we went back to the Traveling Lobster and had another great meal, listened to trivia and left satisfied. What we learned is if a stand isn't busy or has few cars, don't bother, there's a reason. By all means go the Travelin Lobster, the parking lot is busy, the line moves fast and the food comes out fast and excellent, the employees don't attempt to shame you into tipping them and when you order lobster mac and cheese, you get plenty of lobster.
