I chose MyHappyLens after reviewing the websites of several photographers in the Houston area. Her website is nicely done, her portfolio is great, she is priced very reasonably, and she got back to me really quickly after I emailed her the first time(much quicker than other photogs I reached out to). Once I decided to go with her, she was extremely accessible and quick in answering emails and phone calls. Jenna took the time to get to know me and find out what I was looking for in our wedding pictures. She did not simply show up on the day of the wedding; she got coffee with me a month before the wedding to get to know each other (her idea!). Trust me, that made a BIG difference in my comfort level on wedding day. She was not a random girl taking our pictures - she was Jenna, the girl who cares! It was honestly like having a friend taking all of our photos. Jenna is friendly, classy, talented, and funny. She joined in on our conversations while we were getting ready, but also blended in to the background at appropriate times too. She got along with all of my bridesmaids and groomsmen, which makes the "funny shots" easier because everyone was relaxed and not being yelled at. Her husband, Will, was her second shooter for our wedding, and he was just as nice! Something else I noticed - they were dressed so nice. At other weddings I have attended, I have seen photographers in jeans and tshirts, and I thought it was a nice touch that Jenna and Will dressed wedding-appropriate. I know they may have been more comfortable in casual clothes, so I guess that is where "classy" comes into play. These are two of the nicest people who were involved in making our big day happen, and I would recommend them to any couple looking for great photography by great people. I cannot wait to use them again in the future! On the night after my wedding, I texted Jenna to see when I could expect to see our pictures, and within a couple of hours she edited and emailed me EIGHT shots to hold me over until the rest are finished. Very very disappointing. While the photography was well done, when I tried to contact Lisa about…read morepurchasing my parents' wedding photos from over a decade ago, she outright refused to do anything other than an all cash purchase, was difficult, and threatened to throw away the records if we did not pay in cash. It felt tantamount to extortion. While I fully support what photographer do and understand that a lot of work goes into the final product, the outright refusal to work together -- or worse accept any type of non-cash payment -- shows that Michael Carr Photography does not care about long term customer care. We would never consider using them again in the future knowing this is the way past clients are treated. (Not to mention, the wedding photos in question put them on the COVER of The Knot at the time. They got their money's worth in referrals alone.) Choose another photographer who works in the modern age and cares about their customer's experience. Lisa and Michael do not. EDIT: Per the response it's clear that customer service is terrible, still. If they wanted to rectify it, they'd reach out. He had scheduled himself to be on vacation that week, but he was so generous that he took time off from his vacation to shoot my engagement proposal. He went the extra mile - arrived early, stayed late and even help participate... in my proposal plans (I proposed at a local art gallery and he acted as if he were the gallery guide). He has a unique, creative style and was able to capture exactly what I wanted in my engagement proposal photos. Every single one of Jason's photos was incredible and there were over 200 of them! After the photo shoot, he got the photos to us with the quickest turn around time I have ever seen. The ordering process was a breeze and he provided the digital copies to us so that we could use them on our wedding website and Facebook. Jason really bent over backwards for us - whenever we needed something, he was there to provide. Taylor of Tay Lee Photographer has taken pictures for our family on two separate occasions. The…read morefirst was this past spring when we had a party for our daughter. It was the first time a lot of our friends and family were getting to see our six-week-old, and so I wanted a photographer there so that we could all enjoy the party and not worry about taking pictures and exchanging them later. Taylor was recommended to me by someone in my moms' group and she was really personable and quick to respond when I was inquiring about her services and firming up the time. I met her for the first time the day of the party and she was fantastic. She got so many pictures, but we almost didn't notice her. She was inconspicuous and down on the floor getting pictures of the children on their level and amazing photos of our friends and family holding our daughter in the most natural setting. She got pictures of everybody in addition to special details of the party decorations. My toddler son just loved her and she got some really fun pictures of him. We got an edited CD of the pictures as well as a password protected gallery a few weeks later and were very pleased. When it came time to take some milestone family photos this summer, I contacted Taylor again. She was able to book me at my requested appointment time within a week and together we chose a location (the Blue Trees on Allen Parkway). I let her know I needed a quick turnaround on the pictures ahead of time and yet again she delivered. The shoot itself was so much fun. She is so relaxed and has so much patience, more so than I'd seen with any other photographer that's done our family's pictures in the past. When my son started to get a little weary about 3/4 the way through, Taylor whipped out some bubbles and all the sudden he got a second wind. It's so nice that not only do I have some beautiful pictures, but some fun memories of the day. It was really important to me to have a variety of pictures and she delivered with a gallery of over 100 photos. I am thrilled with each one and so glad I went with her extra full CD add on to the package. Taylor is both professional AND creative. She's great to work with and delivers more than the standard family photos. They are truly special. Her fine art photography is gorgeous as well and she even manages to be a great event photographer.
