I'll say one thing for BaRar contracting and that is that they have a most excellent liar in Judd ..I will NEVER recommend them nor will I ever use them again, this guy lies like he was born to it. Made us wait 2 months past the time when he promised they would start and then when they started they started WITHOUT having the permit, he lied to us every step of the way when it came to the permit AND to top it off we discovered that he NEVER even paid for the permit until last minute, I don't know how these people stay in business. read more

Do Not use this company! So much property damage! Judd Shurley said they "fixed" "every little thing" but it clearly was NOT. "Every little thing" was everything they broke! They were sent money 2 months prior to starting the job for permits and plans. They started without the County permit! We were shut down for almost 2 weeks. He actually LIED and said it was sitting next to him in the truck! The contract said it would be complete in 1 week. IT TOOK 6 MONTHS and had to be fixed even after that. The drains were broken, not even connected, and were put together by shoving one pipe into another and a SCREW driven thru it! The drains were "fixed" with 3" pipe instead of the 4" that were previously there. I was left with a huge pile of dirt on my property with the broken block wall pieces and the extra concrete dumped in it. Judd Shurley insisted on having me list all the problem and hasn't returned any emails since. They chipped a block wall every few inches where their excavator hit it. They "fixed" it by sloppily pouring concrete over most of the spots. They broke out 3 support beams under a boathouse turned pavilion, which they did replace. They were supposed to take out the old dock boards prior to filling it in with fill. They did NOT. When they broke the supports, they also destroyed the eves troth. It was listed in the contract that they would take out a large stump. Then he said he couldn't and wanted to charge additional for them to try again! They took so long putting in the sea wall that in the mean time there was a torrential rain and it busted out! The drains were so broken when they backfilled that some of them were pointing UP as they came thru the sea wall. Judd ALWAYS had an excuse for them not showing up to work and for him not being able to come look at the job. I would list them but it's a looooong list. There are 2 other jobs he did in the neighborhood, Buck Head Ridge, that are unsatisfactory. He was kicked off one of them. Yet another person, in Okeechobee, is suing him for his work. I don't know how he even keeps his license! I had to pay others to do the work he was meant to do. And now will have to have a block wall Stucco'd to cover the mess they left.
