Because she worked so closely with our hotel she was able to help us contact the hotel. All the floral arrangements were beautiful,the tables set up were beautiful and the fixtures that we had like the canopy and the uplights were gorgeous. She was also there at our cotillion making sure everything ran smoothly. There was just one problem that I didn't like, I know for cotillions youre usually suppose to do slide shows as a special section for everyone to watch, but as someone who has gone to many debuts and cotillions, my sister and I specifically wanted it during dinner as the guest while they ate, because slideshows to us wasnt a big deal, we wanted it, but not something to take special time out of and do as a separate event. We did specifically tell her about this, and we made the slide show at least 20 minutes longer without music(so it would play with the music we wanted at dinner) BECAUSE we wanted it played at dinner, but it didn't. it played after dinner and after the performances, Other than that, Marie made our cotillion wonderful and I am very happy with the total outcome of the event.

Because the Holiday Cocktail Party that my company was planning was for over 1000 people we decided that it would be best to hire an Event Planner to execute our vision and plan. When we were referred to Young, I took a look at her Yelp reviews and was so excited to see and read about all of the personal touches and unique designs that she brought to her events. However, when we did a walk-through of our space and sat down to talk with Young, her team, and her vendor, Fine Linen Creations (http://www.yelp.com/biz/fine-linen-creations-san-jose-2), I began to become a bit concerned. Young and her vendor kept pushing fresh cut bouquets and an exorbitant amount of draping. We were very very very clear on a multitude of occasions that we did NOT WANT all fresh cut flowers at $75/piece. We found them to be a waste of money as well as just a waste in general because they are disposable. We discussed that since we would have over 60 tables, that we should do flowers on some tables and on the other tables do some Poinsettias, festive branches, ornaments, etc. These items would add uniqueness as well as extreme cost savings, to which one of her assistants rolled her eyes at me. We expressed extreme concern that we did not want to spend our budget on a ton of draping and chair covers and we were looking for a very fun festive Holiday feel and that we did not want it to be stuffy, formal, or wedding-like. We offered up a lot of specific ideas on decor, layout, etc. We clarified that we wanted to have decor in the foyer as well as on the patio, which had views that were absolutely gorgeous. We signed off on the floor-plans and details prior to our event. But then, on the night of our party, we show up and walk in to a Foyer without the decor we discussed and look out on to a patio with no decorations (both wasted opportunities). As I walked through the floor to ceiling draping I entered a room with 60+ tables all adorned with huge floral bouquets and RED ROSE PETALS sprinkled around them, Pretty...FOR A WEDDING OR A PROM! The layout was not as we had agreed upon nor did they execute the ideas that we were very specific about. The venue removed our food 1 1/2 hours after our event started which left everyone 3 more hours of a party where they were drinking with no food available. If this was the venue's decision, it should have been addressed immediately by Young and her Team. We were the clients, paying her a ton of money, and our needs and wishes were, for the most part, ignored.

Her attitude is perfect, assertive and super friendly. She brings a whole group of staff with her, which is great because they all know each other and work well together. She even dealt with our photographer who we had hired outside Fab Event People, who ended up being kind of a pain. Janey sent us over some catering packages and we finally agreed on a menu. When it came to letting Janey know, she informed me that their tastings were $20 and that they do tastings. After emailing back and forth, Janey told me that they rarely do tastings. How can a consumer trust that their food would be yummy on their wedding day if they aren't able to sample the food? I would be a little worried about possible food poisoning. After several attempts of emailing Janey, and giving both her and the receptionist our availability to schedule a tasting, Janey just stopped communicating all together. I can understand a busy schedule (hello, I work and attend two schools full-time AND am planning a wedding!), but to just simply stop communicating with a potential consumer reflects poorly on a company. A simple email would have at least helped. They were still available to cater our wedding since they claim to have hired someone recently who would be able to assist us. However, if I have to be the one who's always emailing and contacting a company, I think I'll find someone else who would be worth working with and spending our hard earned money on. The photos and presentation are pretty, but that's just it. We hope other couples won't run into this problem when planning their wedding, and I hope this review will help them in understanding that customer service goes A LONG WAY!

Her powerpoint deck is great, it clearly shows the event vibe and the cost for every single thing, no matter how big or small. We didn't feel overcharged for anything, and she didn't try to sneak in extra costs (like I've heard of other decor vendors doing!) - we agreed on a price for things and a budget, and she stuck to it. In fact, she doesn't deposit the check until after the wedding and we've given her confirmation that everything went as expected. As for her personality, we found her very easy to talk to and work with, and overall just super friendly. She works hard, and she goes above and beyond for a couple, like coming to our house to pick up things and return things. I was able to DIY certain pieces and they were super helpful with giving me recommendations on what would look nice as a DIY piece with the rest of the decor and then made sure to set it up properly the day of the wedding. A few weeks before the wedding Manya informed me that the Urlis that I had rented were fully damaged and she was not sure if she would be able to provide another one. But within 24 hours, she guaranteed that she would get the fully remade at her own cost and would make sure they were ready for my event. She went above and beyond for me and did everything she could to limit the amount of stress on me as we got closer to the events. Not a lot of vendors go out of their way to use their team to help with other aspects of the wedding. Her whole team was super helpful and assisted with coordinating with the venue and they took on all the work to flip the venue from wedding to reception. All the furniture that was brought to the venue was not only decorated by Manya's team but they also set up all the furniture themselves. I had a blast working with Vanessa during the events, she is really there to make sure that everything looks beautifully. She understood what I was looking for the events and completely got the aesthetic I was going for. The team that was there to set up was so accommodating and I could really tell they were there to make sure we were happy with their execution and delivery. Their work is truly remarkable and A LOT of hard work. These people worked tirelessly to give us everything we need on our big day, WHILE still being the most humble and friendly people to work with. Based on this experience, we will not be collaborating with her on future events. On the last project we did together the court ruled in her favor, largely because we were the ones who drafted the contract (rookies) that's exactly what the judge said. However, there is plenty of evidence showing that the terms of the contract were not fully completed. It is also true that several of our vendors expressed difficulty working with you, along with others involved in the project. If you would like any proof to support this, there's plenty.
