The staff I interacted with in person were courteous and professional, and the procedure itself was handled smoothly. However, my overall experience has been disappointing. During my initial consultation, I was told I was a strong candidate with sufficient donor hair to achieve noticeable coverage. Based on that information, I felt confident moving forward with what is a significant financial and personal decision. However, on the day of the procedure, the medical assessment differed in a meaningful way from what had been communicated. The discrepancy was significant enough that the staff contacted the consultant who initially evaluated me early that morning to clarify what had been discussed. By that point, I had already paid and was present for the procedure, which made it difficult to reconsider or change course. In the months following, I attended regular follow-ups (approximately every two months) along with the PRP sessions I had purchased. I was consistently told that the crown area can be slower to respond due to circulation and that results would improve within a 12-18 month timeframe. Unfortunately, I have not seen the level of results I was led to expect within that period. I have included before and after photos for context so others can make their own assessment. To the clinic's credit, my concerns were eventually reviewed with Dr. Rome, who met me in person and acknowledged that the outcome did not meet expectations after approximately 16 months. However, the proposed solution was additional other treatments including Exosomes and/or Scalp Camouflage, which do not address the core issue of the discrepancy between the consultation and the outcome. Given the circumstances and the size of the investment, I requested a partial refund. I made this request respectfully and provided detailed context, and I have followed up three times over the past 8 weeks without receiving any response. I am still open to resolving this matter directly with the clinic, but the lack of communication has been concerning. The experience was phenomenal from the information given to me about what to do before the procedure, to not feeling pain basically at all when I was getting the procedure, to the post operation care that they gave me. They all are outstanding at their jobs and deserve the praise. Rodney, the Clinical Manager who assisted Laurent, the Physician Assistant both did an amazing job on structuring my hairline and giving me exactly what I was looking for with my transplant. Melissa at the front desk is helpful with scheduling everything and Travis is the go to person on helping you land your transplant day as well as the information regarding the procedure. I also had two techs who both were so kind and perfect at putting in the grafts. The entire team had a great system in place and the whole process took about 8-9 hours. Laurent is perfect at his craft with hair transplants and is so down to earth. I recommend him if you are looking to get a hair transplant. I underwent a hair transplant at Barbers Surgeon Guild about 3.5 years ago, enticed by their persuasive professionalism and promise of expertise. However, I deeply regret not sticking to my original plan of getting the procedure done in Turkey. From the outset, my experience with BSG was subpar. Despite an additional appointment to add more hair after a year and a half, the results are far from satisfactory. My hair remains patchy, with persistent bald spots that make it look anything but full. Comparing this to friends who opted for hair transplants in Turkey, some with more severe balding issues, their heads are now graced with thick, natural-looking hair within a year's time. In contrast, I feel embarrassed by the outcome of my transplant. It's almost as if BSG cut corners with grafts and neglected to achieve the fullness I was promised. The transplanted hair itself is messy and far from natural in appearance. It's a disappointment beyond words, almost like experiencing the definition of 'hair plugs' firsthand. After 3.5 years I either shave my head completely or wear a hat everywhere I go. I went through so much money and physical pain between two treatments and this is what I am left with. I was very very nervous to walk in to BSG a year ago. I had some serious insecurities about my hair and hairline, and I felt old and ugly and very insecure without a hat on. Dr Rome and his team immediately made me feel at ease, especially Travis, the employee who did my intake. We discussed a few different options and I never felt pressured to take one over the other. Ultimately, we decided to go with surgery and PRP follow up, as well as start me on meds. After the procedure I felt some real regret initially because it was a huge step and I had a lot of anxiety, but I was told (before the procedure - they gave me a heads up) that that was normal, and that the first three months are hard to wait through while you go through the shedding and initial growth process. BSG is awesome! BSG is home to extremely talented and kind barbers. BSG is the only barbershop I've ever encountered which has the enormous benefit of an in-house doctor (Dr. Justin Rome). Let me say that again: because BSG also specializes in various methods of hair restoration (both surgical and non-surgical), they have a doctor and an entire team of medical hair restoration specialists on site, in addition to their team of master barbers and stylists. The BSG shop is a beautifully designed, relaxing space where I've instantly felt at home ever since my first visit. BSG's services in both the barbershop and the hair restoration division are of the highest quality and are reasonably priced, and I intend to remain a regular BSG client forever. I started going to BSG almost 2 years ago for a consultation with Dr. Rome about some scalp problems I was having due to a combination of other medical conditions (both physical and psychological). At the time, I felt completely overwhelmed by and unable to manage my scalp problems, was embarrassed to go outside without a hat, and was petrified at the prospect of someone catching a glimpse of my head. Dr. Rome was able to leverage his medical expertise and training to give me excellent medical advice, in a completely supportive and nonjudgmental fashion, on handling my scalp condition in relation to both my chronic illness (type 1 diabetes) and my mental health challenges, which were both aggravating my scalp condition. Dr. Rome took time to ask questions in order to completely understand my problems and desires, then formulated a plan for healing my scalp and giving me back my healthy head of hair. Dr. Rome then communicated my issues to the barber, who was able to masterfully adjust his work in order to cover up my scalp problems and allow them to heal. BSG's barbers have experience managing a broad variety of hair problems, and have consistently been very friendly, very supportive, and of course given me great haircuts. Subsequently, the BSG team have helped me heal my scalp to the point where I have regained my confidence in my appearance, I no longer have to wear a hat in public or worry about people seeing my scalp problems, and I can once again get tight fade cuts without fear or anxiety. Furthermore, BSG, under Dr. Rome's careful direction, has created an excellent homemade line of hair care products (from shampoo and conditioner to hair serum and pomade), all of which have helped soothe and heal my scalp problems, and which I use for my hair care and hairstyling on a daily basis. I don't know of any other barbershop or salon that has created their own line of physician-designed hair care products. These products are composed of carefully selected ingredients of the highest quality, and outperform every other hair product I've ever used in their respective categories. I finally love my hair - even after day 2 no wash! As a woman I was a wee bit apprehensive about stepping into a barber shop, but that trepidation was all in my mind! From the very first touch point of contact via email/zoom, the on-site with the gorgeous and vibrant clean space, to the wonderful people from the front desk to the treatment rooms  - everything was perfect. I got the scalp camo - which is basically like having tiny dots that match your hair color tattooed on your scalp to give the visual presentation of fuller, thicker hair. I have a bright white scalp with very dark hair and it always "looked" a lot more stragglepuss because of this contrast. But not anymore! I'm no stranger to the hair restoration world. I came to BSB for 2 things: 1, a good haircut after my previous FUT procedures, & 2, a consult for scalp micro-pigmentation (SMP) procedure to hide scaring & spotted areas. I couldn't be more satisfied with both. Brandon is my ride-or-die barber now, he does an amazing job each & every time I see him. He is very well versed with the skills not only how to cut a man's hair, but also hiding scar areas & highlighting other, fuller areas. He cuts well & works with my hair so that each time I leave feeling great about my hair (as I once did not). It's an amazing feeling. As for the second, I had a SMP procedure from the artist Mike. He was also nothing short of amazing. I had the full scalp & scar SMP, which took several sessions, with several hours. This is not a cheap procedure, by any means, as nothing is with hair restoration... however, I am very pleased with the outcome & feel like I got worth much more than I paid for. He spent so much time on meticulous details with each session & even extended my sessions to fill in gaps. For the past 30 odd years I've had a lot of barbers and stylists in LA. Most were just okay. Some were good. More than a few were terrible. Then I stumbled into Barber Surgeon's Guild ... and that was that. And beyond the awesome decor or the decent street parking or the fact I can get a killer cup of cold brew on tap, what makes it so great is that Brandon is hands down the best barber I've ever had. I'll put it this way, before I started seeing Brandon I was wearing hats everyday. That's how unhappy with my hair I was. Not anymore. If you're looking for a talented barber who will work with his clients to bring out the best their hair can offer, he's your go to guy. Bonus if you have a beard, cause his beard grooming game is 10/10. And although in my experience pretty much all the concierge staff have been fantastic, since I usually go on a certain day I'd remiss if I didn't mention how terrific Brody behind the front desk is.
