Nice barber shop. It was a thrill to come on in after making a reservation. Jim, the barber, and his girl cut mostly men's styles and have some beats bouncing off the radio in the background. Why songs? I don't know, but I usually do that on my own in the car. Jim did not sing, but was very precise in his cut and didn't roll eyeballs when I brought in a picture of my style and length that I wanted. Jim was actually happy. He could visualize it. And he pulled it off! The shop 'Barbers & Song' only has one seat - so they mostly take reservations and ask you to be in at a specific time. Cuts are around $20 for seniors and maybe $23 for adults. Jim asks how you like the cut, shows you a mirror to hold and talks - but not too much. Coiffeur Jim was just the right kind of talk to focus ratio. Over the last 17 years, I've moved 14 times, and in just about every town it took me nearly a year to zero in on an acceptable barber. Some places were too chi-chi for me, and others were just too military-brisk with the clippers. But figure roughly nine haircuts a year and that's like 125 haircuts I had to grow out while searching for a trusted professional. Six months ago I moved to Morris County and-- with my very first roll of the dice; not even one month yet living in the new home-- I found myself sitting in the chair at Barbers & Songs. To be honest, with a name like "Barber and Songs: A Finely Tuned Barber Shop" with a quartetman's vest on the sign, I was expecting singing barbers or something, but none were to be found, so I had to settle for merely a great haircut experience. :-) I usually go to whatever Barber is closest, Supercuts, Pro Haircutters, whatever. But now, I think I have found a barber shop to call home. The shop is nicely appointed, with some pretty cool looking modern barber chairs. My haircut needs are simple; just a buzz cut, which is why I usually don't think twice about where I get my haircut. Not a lot of style necessary. However, what I found here, was a very nice experience. There is so much to be said for a warm towel, and a mentholated neck rub... something so simple is worth the premium over the chain places. I used to go to Christina at Men of Mendham regularly until Jim (also formerly of Men of Mendham) opened Barbers & Songs. Both give fantastic cuts and are very friendly and loyal to their customers. Although Men of Mendham is much closer to me, I will always go to Jim and Christina. Barbers & Songs shop is nicer and nobody cuts my hair like those two. The shop is a clean, modern environment and is second to none of the barber shops in the area. Got a haircut from Christina. Nice new shop Christina opened up with her boyfriend 7 months ago. She is very friendly and attention to detail. Nice warm scented towel on neck at end. Haircut was $20. You get $2 off if you make appointment ahead of time. I see on Yelp you get $5 off if you check in. Wish they told me when I asked about Yelp before getting haircut. It is on Route 10 below Toohey Real Estate. Definite would recommend trying if you live in area. They only cut men and boys hair. read more

Ive been hunting for a new barber and decided to come in see what the song was all bout. Well theres no songs or music but the haircut was excellent.
