I asked if there's experience people that can shape up my beard,they said yes. Sent me to a young lady name Oliva. She did less than mediocrity. No head rest for my neck,no sharp edging on my beard. She didnt ask if my beard was low enough. So the price is low,but you get what u pay for. They dont take creidit cards or any electronic payments. WOW. Only cash. It was almost time for my cruise, so I needed to get a haircut before my checklist was complete. Thankfully, I stumbled upon this fantastic shop. I walked inside with my significant other and ended up waiting only about 15 minutes. They had seats, so it wasn't a big deal. I got a Men's Haircut and it was $25.00. I came in for a simple haircut with that being square sideburns, clean and square in the back, and an inch off everywhere else. It came out great! I was pleasantly surprised at the result since my barber finished so quickly. It felt like I was only in the chair for a few minutes. My barber was both polite and friendly. His professionalism really did shine bright. The place was small and to the point. It was clean and kept up with nicely. Overall, this shop was just what I needed. Well I went into this throw back barbershop today...Wow..I am a stylist of 25 yrs ..Recently I moved to Munster ,and when I say I am picky that's a understatment. I went in,not knowing what to expect.I had about a 25 minute wait...I was then greeted by a female ..I forgot her name,but she is the only female there..I did not tell her at first ,I was a stylist but instead showed her a picture...(Stylist hate this)lol....But she explained ,that the texture might be different ,but looks like we can get it close...Well close is what I got ....actually right on....She took her time and really went the extra mile..As I looked around ,I saw all of the Barbers turning out great work...Well ,if only they had an extra chair,I would work there...Oh and the one person that was the first to greet me ...The hip looking owner in chair 1 ... read more

If I could give 10 stars I would. Made an appointment for my son (who is on the autism spectrum and does better at the doctor than he does for haircuts! ) and ended up having three people assist us. They were beyond patient - trying everything they could think of to make him comfortable, even telling us to just stop by if we can occasionally when it's not time for him to get his hair cut to make him comfortable in the environment. G, Olivia, and Christian were SO AMAZING that I got very emotional at the end because of their patience and kindness. We'll definitely be back (if they'll have us back after today! ) read more

One of the best places around for a proper haircut. Consistently good and know to cut hair for all ages. In addition, very trustworthy as I had forgotten my glasses at their shop five days prior and they replied immediately when I asked if they had found them (thankfully they did). My first and last time in this barbershop was about a month ago. Now, I have no comment regarding all of the barbers, just one. The barbers, other than the one I had the misfortune of ending up with, may be very good at what they do. But, unfortunately for me, not the older white-haired gentleman. He did not cut my hair or beard. He butchered it. When he was done, the cut of my beard and mustache looked like I had sucked on a hose to get it trimmed. A perfectly round circle where part of my beard and mustache one were. The beard was, to describe it loosely, was cut unevenly. A canyon there, a mountain here, if you catch my drift. When I arrived home my wife described a similar geology cut into my hair. While he was talking to me, his stories became more and more bizarre. No disrespect intended, but I think he may have some type of dementia. Because of him, I will never go to this shop again. If you, the reader, do go to this barbershop, avoid the old man at all costs. I'm 71. He is the worst barber I have been to in my entire life. read more

I just moved to the area and called these guys up to schedule an appointment. Then I asked about whether they are wearing masks. The guy on the phone said, "Well, I guess you could ask your barber to wear one." Lake Country has an indoor mask mandate and maybe I could ask? Great experience and great haircuts every time I go; and when it comes to my hair, I can be a bit picky. Parking lot is behind the barber shop. They always have at least 5 barbers on duty. They have newspapers and magazines for you to read while waiting or you can even watch their TV; they usually have sports on on the weekends. When Dan is available, I wait for him. When he is not, Ray takes care of me. $15 will get you in and out. Make sure to tip! And by the way, they only take cash/check. read more

Moffits barbershop surprised me with the cut. One of the three barbershop I'll be revisiting. The other two shops I'd have to travel to chicago for a proper and clean cut and definitely way too far to be driving to. But Moffits is just down the street in Munster and has a homey vibe to it. Fernando was the guy who got me. Hes an A1 barber. He had me with even measures throughout my sides and back and styled it to give me ideas on how to structure my haircut. Great place, quick, and will definitely be going back there for more cuts. There's not a lot of places I can say that give dope haircuts, but now I'm glad I found one. read more

This is the oldest continuously running barber shop in Munster. They opened in 1924 and I think that it just keeps getting handed down the line. My gps says that it is Carl's barber shop. Evidently he now has landscape duty at Woodlawn. All the guys greet you when you walk in and I have to imagine that the place has not changed much. You can see that they try to update the place with period pieces. The barber chairs from the 50"s, a counter from the 60's, a 70's era couch and some new fishing magazines from the 80's. It's funny to see how these guys keep their own hair. One guy was stuck with the Sam Malone look and my guy had the comb over. When you are getting it high and tight, there really is no way to screw it up. It is the atmosphere that brings you back. read more

What a trip down memory lane. My Dad tells me I had my first haircut at Dan's predecessor business at a different location in 1962 or 1963 and I screamed my head off. But in 2013 I lucked out and was attended to by an attractive young blonde woman named Lori, who gave me a very fine haircut and hot lather shave (all I could think of was "Sweeney Todd") for $16.00. A big plus is they are next door to the famous Schoop's Hamburgers, so have a great burger then get your hair cut at Dan's. Great place to have your haircut, there's always 5 barbers working and I have to say, all of them give really great cuts. All of the men are super friendly and when I bring my 4 year old son in, they like to joke playfully so he is comfortable and not fidgety while having his hair cut. This may be the oldest business in Munster, but it's not the only barber shop in the area. Long wait, so so hair cutting and much more pricey than all barbers in the area. It seems as if your paying extra for the privilage of getting your hair cut there. They also run a cash only place too, no plastic, makes it hard for those of us who never carry cash.
