Recently relocated to the area and have tried to find the right barber/barbershop. After sharing my woes with my girlfriend she recommended Jason at McFly's. After my first cut/style, to say I was extremely pleased would be an understatement. Upon walking in, the vibes were high and this felt promising. Barbers were welcoming, greeting people by their first names when they entered, social, and overall comfortable and engaging. When it was my turn, I was greeted by Jason with a handshake and asked exploratory questions about what I was looking for. Jason totally understood me and gave great suggestions. He was extremely professional and detailed. Before he started he explained every step he would make along the way to ensure we were on the same page. We discussed products that would enhance my style and he got to work. The professionalism, display of knowledge/skill, cut, product selection, and style were perfect! I walked in unsure and concerned based on my past experiences at other shops I had already tried and walked out with confidence and excitement knowing I had found the barber/barbershop I had been searching for. 5+ 's to Jason for the haircut/style, professionalism, and knowledge. 5+ 's to the staff. 5+ 's for the vibes of the shop. My First time there a few months back, I was charged $10 by one of the barbers to trim by beard. I…read morewas nervous to have it trimmed... but the barber took his time, asked a lot of questions along the way, and did exactly what I wanted. I was very happy with the beard trim results. I decided I'd return a couple months later, this time the owner got me in a chair spent 1/4 of the amount of time on my beard. Never actually got close to my face. Took my mustache way above the lip at an angle with one side shorter, and left the beard entirely crooked. Instead of starting the lip trim from the center and curving outward as should be done, he came at it oddly at an angle from above. You can see the crookedness of both mustache and beard in photo... he Then proceeded to charge $18 for what I spent $10 on 2 months before. What makes this worse is the experience the first time was great, the second time the owner rushed me through.... After several days of being annoyed at how the beard I spent 7-8 months growing out looked, and the comments I was receiving from friends who saw it, I decided to trim it off and restart. I am beyond upset at this lousy job and loss of my beard. Also, in my 3 times there (I went once in 2019), none of my experiences were very conversational. Due to the great job the first time, I'm giving it 2 stars instead of 1.

The barbers were dressed professionally and very friendly. While the decor was what I would expect in a barber shop, I think the antique/classic barber chairs was a sign that this wasn't just another barbershop. You don't have those unless you love your profession. I was assigned to Chase, who cut his lunch break short even though I was the one who was 15 minutes early. I explained how I would like my hair and beard trimmed, and he went to work. He took his time and recommended several style changes for my approval before trimming. I'm not one for small talk during a haircut, but the barbers working that day were having an open conversation and I felt relaxed enough to even join the conversation, which is totally not me. But it definitely helped the time pass quickly and made the experience more enjoyable. Once done, Chase spun me around for a view in the mirror, and I thought he did a fantastic job. But the real approval would be made by my wife, who was waiting in the car. She liked it so much, she suggested that I change my barber. So, while it wasn't my intention, looks like Chase will have a new client. The prices here are a little higher than what I usually pay, but with the quality of work, it's well worth the price. It was really refreshing to find a barbershop that was open not to just cut hair, but to find people who understand and enjoy their craft.
