After he began the installation, Matt notified me that one of my garage door springs was broken and that it had to be replaced before he could complete the installation of the new garage door opener. He recommended using a modern spring system that is commonly used rather than the obsolete Wayne Dalton ones that I had. The price for that repair was $530. Since I have a home warranty that would pay for most of that, I agreed to have Matt install the new spring system. Matt obtained the parts and installed the new spring system the same day. Total price was $805 for new door opener install, setup, and new spring system. I am very happy with the service, especially since I will receive a reimbursement check from the home warranty company. Now my new garage door opener works quietly and I can use the remotes once again. My kids can also get in now, something they couldn't do before. The Wi-Fi feature and app that came with my new door opener is the bomb - it tells me if the door is open or closed, who opened it and when, and I can control it from anywhere in the world, including my bed when I don't feel like getting up to close the door. The guy who answered the phone explained that the control board was bad and that they would not repair it, rather they suggested that I buy an new unit from them for about $600 dollars. Instead I called another more professional garage door repair company and all it took was about 20 minutes of work and they got the door working better then before it stopped. Cost was about $90. I would advise being careful when contacting East Side Garage Door for service; my experience was that rather then scheduling service they tried to upsell me a way too expensive solution to the rather simple problem.
