Terrible. To replace 2 garage openers they wanted $1750 for cheapest model and $2500 for better model. Their pricing is in its own league. They are also deceptive. They told us they would charge us $75 to look at the openers and tell us how much repairs would cost. Then when he came he pretended that it was $150. To top it off, one of the garage door openers that he said had a broken gear and needed replaced because the gear couldn't be replaced- was actually not getting any electricity due to a short. I didn't know if it was fixable or not and the guy came out. Didn't even say hello to me it says you need a new garage. I don't think so and he didn't want to leave. I threatened to call the police. He was rude and when I called the company to get a manager to call me back, they never called back. I would never recommend this company. This is the worst company I've ever dealt with and by the way the garage was repaired. They wanted to charge me $3800 for a new garage. I recommend not doing business with precision garage doors. The technician put a lot of pressure on me to hire them, even though the price given seemed very expensive ( and what I paid another company to do the repair was less than a third of what Precission originally wanted to charge me). The technician also tried to charge me $25 more dollars than what I was originally told it would cost for someone to come out and give me an estimate. He said it was because he had to spend the time to look at the garage door and talk to me about it, although he did agree to waive that extra charge. The technician also kept lowering the price to get me to hire the company, which made me very suspicious, and I really wanted him to leave already. This was a few years ago, but my experience with them was so bad, that I think people need to be aware of how they operate. At the very least if the quote they give you seems high, get another quote. Even if you have to pay $40 to get the estimate, it will be well worth it, if you save $1000 by hiring another company. Based on my experience getting the quote, I knew this was not a company that I wanted to work with, even if the price would have been reasonable. read more

I had the misfortune of having called them to repair my door. Tech said the broken spring and buckled panel could only be dealt with by replacing door. Took the door and hardware so that no one else could quote. My wife requested that he leave the parts he kept the hardware and now no manage will return my call. I see this is a pattern when reading the reviews. They violate the consumer sales act of Ohio with unconscionable sales practices. They should be prosecuted by Atty General. This is terrible!! The guy convinced me I needed a new door bc too much was wrong with my old one and a new one would basically cost the same and replacing all the parts!! I believed him. I feel so taken advantage of!!! He told me everything would be brand new including my sensors since he said they were one of my issues. The only thing that was new was the door and rails. The technician told my husband it would cost $800 to fix the motor, 2 new remotes and key pad. My husband said that was too high so the technician said ok, how about $600. I was charged a service charge when I was told with repair there is no service charge. They did additional work (greased the mechanisms) and did not advise they were charging for it, more so acted like it was part of the spring tightening. Did not let me see the invoice for the charges just had me sign. When asked why the total was so high I was ignored. I filed a complaint and they spent weeks trying to say they did not service my address. When I proved it with the invoice/work order numbers they completely stopped communication. So I did not go with precision to fix my doors. Three days later I got both doors fixed for $300 total ( by a company named 5 star garage doors). I called Precision to tell the manager about the large difference in price quotes, a girl named Taylor answered the phone and thought that she had hung up on me and proceeded to tell her coworker that she was glad that she did because Brad the manager didn't want to talk to me anyways. She then told me that Jeff the owner would call me back to discuss all the events that happened above, and Jeff never called me. Told us our repairs were so expensive that we should just buy a new opener for $500. And that we should pre-emptively replace our other functional unit as well, since they were the same age. Fixed it myself two days later in about 30 minutes with a $20 capacitor. On the plus side, they were easy to schedule with and got someone out quickly. Just make sure you know what you need! Trying to sell someone on $1000 for two brand new openers without mentioning that a $20 part will do the trick should be criminal. read more

Precision did come out to the property to evaluate the 4th door on this garage which one of the tenants hit with their vehicle. They did so at night 9pm-10pm (there is no light in this area) and the person who inspected it was pushy. I was hesitant to buy a brand new door because our city is very picky about exterior appearance and I had an inspection coming up. The original door was no longer being manufactured and a new door would look slightly different. I felt pressured as it was late at night, I couldn't see the new doors design well, but I agreed to go along with the sale. Moments after making the purchase I realized I should probably check in with the city first to verify a new door which may not match would be allowed. I called precision door the next day AS SOON as they opened because I realized time was of the essence. A lady answered and I explained the situation to her. She said she could cancel the order (this was less than 12 hours after it was initially placed) and she did not mention anything about this being an inconvenience. I honestly don't even see how a new door order was even processed so quickly from 10pm the night before to 7am or 8 am the following day). More so, no one at Precision ever said anything about the cancellation of this order being an issue. Never! If I knew it was that huge of an issue I would have proceeded. Fast forward to the issue with the door in the first garage bay falling on my tenants car and me calling precision for a service call. They now tell me they won't come out to even look at anything without me buying a new door! And instead of being told this upfront, they stringing me along for hours when I could have been calling someone else! There was never any mention that cancelling the order on the 4th garage door was an issue! No one EVER said ANYTHING! It's like being reprimanded without ever knowing there was an issue! This is terrible customer service and bad communication! I've entirely switched to Action Door. After the debacle with Precision , I called them, replaced the first garage door springs and cables on the door that had fallen. Said there was no safety issue. (I put my tenants safety as the highest priority!) I then had Action Door replace the fourth garage door after I got the okay from the city. I contacted Precision Doors corporate office about this matter. I hope someone is looking into how they treat and deal with customers. I was a loyal customer. I work with all of my contractors to form good relationships and this really burnt a bridge! read more

If you want the job done Precision Door will do so, BUT expect to pay anywhere from double to triple the cost elsewhere. We were in jam between two jobs, and three little kids, two of which were sick and needed to attend doctor appointments and our spring broke. Our closest family was also out of state. We needed both of our cars but could not get the garage to lift up because it was way too heavy. We needed it fixed quick on a garage door that is only 10 years old. They explained that many off the parts needed to be repaired or replaced; with the kind of tube we had installed, as well as with the springs breaking. Needless to say we thought we could trust this company. We posted the information on FB where many friends and family felt we got ripped off. I decided to start making calls for additional quotes based on the quote Precision door quoted. Our quote was about with $825 with a coupon, which was $1500. We do not knowing anything about garage doors so we really feel like idiots now. I ended up calling four other local companies and asked for quotes without giving Precisions name. All the quotes ended up being around $200-$350 for every single part quotes. One company told me we were charge $150 for a part that they would charge about $15. Each local company then told us Precision was the company that did the work. Another company actually told us we were "Precisionized." Precision Door took advantage of family in need. Did they work solve our problem? Yes, but we found out later we could have bought entire new garage for the price we were quoted. Please don't get taken advantage of like we were. It is cold and snowy where we live so I called Precision Door as I have used them before. Unlike 90% of the competitors out there that either can't come same day OR charge a hefty "emergency" service same day fee, Precision came by that night at 10p and WITH A GREAT ATTITUDE.
