Last week I scheduled service - then changed the appointment from Tues to Wed. AD cancelled the appointment and never rescheduled me. When they didn't show, I called. No apology for the error. "I don't know who you talked to, but you're not in the schedule. It shows you canceled." I tried to reschedule. Next appointment that worked with my schedule was a week out. I booked the appointment, but commented that I was going to call and see if I could get someone else out sooner. The guy became really rude. AD: "I'm gonna cancel. You want me to cancel?" Me: "No, don't cancel." AD: "But you said you were gonna call someone else. I need to free up the appointment if you're not going to show." Me: "I will call and cancel IF I find someone else." AD: "If you're just going to cancel again, I'll cancel you now." Me: "I DIDN'T CANCEL THE FIRST TIME. KEEP THE APPOINTMENT. I WON'T CALL ANYONE ELSE." He sounded offended that, after a scheduling error on their part and waiting two weeks for an appointment, I would look around for something earlier. I've had good service from them before. But this guy has single-handedly turned me away from Action Door. read more

I had Action Door come give me an estimate to fix my door. The estimate was $250-$300. Although that sounded a little expensive, they were "here", so I said go ahead. You can imagine my shock when he charged me $392; ONLY 56% higher than the estimate he gave just an hour earlier! To avoid having a Mechanic's Lien put on my property, I paid that invoice. Not only was I a victim of fraudulent pricing, I AM STILL WAITING FOR MY RECEIPT! AVOID AVOID AVOID!!!!! read more

I had a brand new smart system installed by Action. I have never once been able to get them back out to fix the terrible install. My sensors have never worked right which means I can not make use of the app and it's features. They also improperly installed a lock mechanism which caused $1,000 in damage that I had to pay to another company because Action wouldn't even come out lol. I am literally suing them because after I told them about the issues, without even looking at photos or asking a single question, told me I am out of luck. These people suck and you should call Precision out of Akron, they do a much better job. read more

I called for them to come out and fix a interior exit door, it required three screws to be fixed. This company charges $100.00 for the service call then $200.00 for what they did? The total $300.00 i would not recommend this company for small jobs this is highway robbery. read more

Action Door installed two large commercial doors for us. Everything was perfect. A truck hit one of the doors. I ordered the repair on 8/5/24. When all of the parts arrived, they went to install them on 9/16/24. Some wrong parts were ordered. Mistakes happen. That didn't bother me. We ordered the additional parts. I emailed on 10/1/24 looking for an update. I received no reply. I have called directly and through the switchboard leaving messages four times since then. I received no reply. The repair is more than $10k. You would think that I could get a reply. Even if they couldn't get a reply from the supplier, you would think that they would at least reply with that information. Any decent human being would. I don't know how a business can survive with such poor customer service. Maybe they shouldn't survive... read more

Had two different techs look at a door that was broken due to a vehicle hit. First tech wrote everything up and left. Received email a few days later stating the whole door would need to be replaced. So needed another visit to make sure we could match to the other doors (have 3), or at least come close. A Regional manager came out, stated that in fact they could get the replacement panel instead of the whole door. Great! Just send the quote so we can get it started........That was nearly TWO months ago! Have not heard back to any of my calls or emails! Nothing!! Fired! looking some place else! read more

Stay away!! They are a complete rip off. I called just to get some springs tightened and a pull adjusted. It was a 30-60 minute job at the most. They send 2 guys and try to bill me for 7.5 hours. They also show up with cherry picker and tried charging $150 for the rental. Never again read more

Our garage door kept getting stuck when it was opening up. It would take about three tries before it would go all the way up. So I called Action door and they were even willing to come out same day but worked with me on my schedule. They even came out a day early when there was a cancellation which I thought was great. Al showed up after calling about 45 minutes ahead of time during a terrible snowstorm to let me know he was on his way. He was very friendly. After about a half an hour of work on the door he had it back in fine shape. He explained everything clearly in a way that was easily understood and also informed me that one of the settings on the garage door opener was incorrectly set. He adjusted this as well as it could've damaged the door. The service car was $175 which, to be honest, seemed a little high (4 stars), but again the service and the friendliness of Al made it worthwhile. read more

As a previous satisfied customer we ordered a door for our new garage on October 6th. It arrived at their facility on December 1st. This was within (Barely) the estimated widow for installation. They notified us of a January 4th installation date yesterday December 4th. When asked why a month delay the answer given is that one of their 2 installers is off work and the other only does one door per day M,W,F. The assumption being that they don't want to pay benefits and use 1099 help/part timers. This is a choice they have made and it has a detrimental effect on our project as winter is approaching. When we ordered the door representations were made that once it arrived it would get installed within a week. This review is not meant to disparage the quality of work they perform as we have been happy with their services in the past. However if you are planning to purchase a door from them beware of the extra time involved based upon their staffing and business decisions. Whomever you order a door from you should ask about their installation backlog. We did at the time of order but things changed and their business leadership did not respond and adjust to keep at least this customer happy. read more

Action Door replaced our garage door in 2020, but failed to arrange for a manual entry option, should a power outage occur. The windstorm this past week had us without power over the weekend, with no way to open the door in order to use our car. Could not even budge it. While the door itself is fine, the fact that the installer failed to replace the handle on the door, provide a new key, and talk us through emergency access was a major oversight. read more

If I could rate this company a 0/5 stars I would. We had a man come out and fix our garage door last month (replace cable, realignment, etc). We paid $260.00 for service. Shortly after he left, our garage door would not close all the way and instead kept coming back up without even touching the ground. We let it go to see if it would correct itself, and it did not. We called Action Door back, assuming they'd correct their mistake out of courtesy, and the tech came out and wiped grass off the bottom of our garage door. Literally that was it. We were charged $180.00 ($175.00 of that being their minimum service fee) that was ALSO never disclosed. This did not fix the problem and it intermittently will still not close. After complaining about the fee, considering this was a new problem that we never had before the first tech was here, Action Door informed me that this was a new problem that was NOT the initial techs fault and we would be charged due to it being a second problem that required a service (aka a service of wiping grass off the bottom of the garage door with no solution). This company is trash and my entire family will no longer be using their services after we've used them for years. Great job Action Door!!! Everyone be aware of the $175.00 service fee that they charge you no matter what!!!!!!! They won't tell you about it. read more

Atrocious. I can't begin to describe how inept the people this company sends out for repairs is. They can barely climb a ladder let alone fix anything. Try literally opened up my mechanical door's repair hatch and didn't see the motor. IT WAS RIGHT IN FRONT OF THEM. After they closed the hatch and said they couldn't find the motor, I climbed back up, opened the hatch and said, "LOOK". It was right in front of the open hatch, plain as day. A baby could have identified it. Not these guys. read more

Garage door could not be lifted Saturday afternoon. Posted need on Action's web site. Repairman showed up Tuesday afternoon. Identified problem very quickly as a cable off the track. Fixed immediately. Explained why and how it happened. Cost was surprisingly low. Even better with the senior discount! read more

had a new garage floor poured and the significantly higher finished level messed up the door geometry - was prepared to have a company tear down and reinstall the tracks and door. Action Door came and was able to adjust the tracks and opener in about an hour and charged accordingly. I was very pleased with the fair and reasonable treatment. Thanks! read more

Door looks great, it's the service why I gave it two stars. First when installing the garage door the technician drilled a hole in the wrong spot which caused him to order a panel which took three months to get. Second while installing new garage door they took my old garage door opener without my permission and just tossed it in the back of the truck when I asked the technician why they did that he just said that's just part of the work order I thought it was more like part of it trying to get a new garage door opener out of me. Overall like I said the door looks great works perfect but the service was unprofessional. read more

BEWARE! I purchased 17 garage doors for our condo association. The price on the doors was competitive and Action Door was located close to our neighborhood. They installed the doors well. The problem comes when you need service. My personal door has cost $957.50 for repairs. I contacted Action Door and their answer is the parts are worn out. The $75 trip fee is ridiculous. They did offer a 10% discount on the trip fee and then charged an additional $361.50 the following day. No discount on that cost. The doors I purchased apparently were doors used for multi-unit purchases, i.e. not the quality of a door used if an individual bought one. For example, a pin breaks which requires replacing an entire garage door section of the opening unit versus simply fixing the pin. I contacted the installer, the installation manager, Tom, and finally someone in management. and was basically told the unit is just worn out and that $957.50 in repairs is justified. I will be contacting the master association to let them know of the problems I encountered and I am sure they will no longer be an option in our purchasing along with my friends at the American Legion and any other person who asks me about garage doors. I am Very, very, very, disappointed in Action Door. read more
