My experience was not good. At my first visit, before anyone looked at my teeth, I felt that the hygienist was pressuring me into considering various procedures. Then, when I balked at paying $250+ for a full set of x-rays, despite having forwarded a set of X-rays to Dr. Levey that were less than 2 years old, he abruptly left the room and refused to speak to me further or treat me. My experience with this dentist was not good, i came in to my appointment, the girl said the dentist accepts my insurance and general xrays, filling, cleanings and exam are all covered under my insurance. Ok. So the dentist takes x-rays, doesnt do anything else and tells me it will cost me out of pocket 50,000 dollars to fix my teeth...he said he would write up a plan which he never did, next the office calls me and tells me i owe this dentist 189.00 or they send it to collections.....what a scam, very deceptive and outrageous to tell me my insurance would cover the xrays, then tell me i need 50k worth of work or my teeth would fall out he tells me. I was so upset and disappointed. The dentist wouldnt even do a cleaning when i asked....xray only. I waited a good hour before they even took me on top of it. I will never go back to this place again....a real scam artist....he can write any response he wants but a crook is a crook and a nasty deceptive one at that. read more

The receptionist claimed they took our dental insurance until we came in to have xrays taken. Once the procedure was done, the receptionist said they were not in network for any dental insurance providers. The dentist cares more about money than anything else. Be warned. I had a filling replaced that I later found out was much more expensive than the going rate according to my insurance company. I had residual bleeding for months. I was also told I had five cavities which is more than I had ever had...this was the point where I decided to go to another dentist. This next dentist saw three potential areas of concern that COULD turn into a cavity which I addressed. Levey also told me I had a grinding teeth problem which required some kind of expensive device. (had never heard this before and the next dentist I went to after this didn't see any problem with this). I came to this practice in part because of all the positive reviews but please be warned BUYER BEWARE! They are VERY aggressive about obtaining reviews and I suspect they don't reflect reality. read more

I am sorry that I had to give even 1 star in order to write this review. I was very fortunate to be referred to an honest dentist who examined me using the X-rays that your office took only 5 months earlier and, guess what? I found out that your $11,000 "plan" for my "necessary" dental work was completely unwarranted. All of my crowns are fine, completely intact & sealed with no signs of decay underneath. No need to "rebuild" any of my teeth or remove / replace any crowns or bridge. Update - 2 years later - I have still NEVER needed any of the "necessary" dental work this con artist said I needed. Going to Dr. Levey's office was, without question, the best dental experience I have ever had--and I have had many! I've been to a wide array of dentists in my life, since I have moved a lot, and have also gone to mainstream, alternative, and integrative dentists, and everything in between! Dr. Levey far surpasses even the ones I liked the best. The entire office staff is exceedingly welcoming and kind, and talk to you as a person, rather than a patient. I actively enjoyed my conversations with the receptionist, dental assistant, and Dr. Levey! As far as Dr. Levey himself, I can't express enough what a wonderful dentist and person he is. He was genuine and compassionate, listened well, did not judge anything I said, and explained everything extremely thoroughly, both at the beginning and step-by-step as he was doing the lengthy procedure. He asked frequently if I felt okay and reminded me to let him know at any time if I needed something, and managed both to make conversation and show extreme diligence, focus, and competence. I felt one hundred percent comfortable with him during every moment of my visit. He even spent some time talking to me after the visit, and did not rush away. Also, though I had to come back to do the actual procedure after the initial assessment, he invited me back the same day rather than making me wait. Additionally, even though I had some pretty major things done, including laser cutting some of my infected gum away, and drilling and filling a very major cavity where part of my tooth had fallen off, I had almost no pain at all when the numbing agent wore off! And I am extremely sensitive so that is rare for me. I would imagine this is because he did a stellar job. I would say that my experience here was not only "not bad"; it was highly positive, and even enjoyable, because of the quality of the people. Dr. Levey and his staff are stellar, and this is coming from someone with doctor anxiety and a very low threshold for pain. The staff treat you like family and put you at ease. In appointments they do more than I've experienced with other medical professionals, and they explain everything as they go. If you're having a procedure (like a filling) that makes it impossible to talk for a while, Dr. Levey checks in constantly. The office manager Angel is very welcoming and explains all insurance and financial processes in depth. I can't recommend them highly enough read more

As a dental rep I visit about 12 offices a day. Dr.Levey's office is by far one of the most cutting edge and up to date offices I have walked into in months. Not only is everything updated and new but the vaulted ceilings and airy environment would help the most nervous of patients feel at ease. Angel at the front desk is very welcoming, personable and was Dr.Levey's assistant for several years before moving into her role as office manger. She has a great length of knowledge about dentistry which is helpful when you do have a lot of questions and are waiting or calling. read more

I'm new to the Croton area and was looking for a new dentist. And I found a great one in Dr. Bard Levey. Before getting to him, I must compliment his staff. They are friendly, capable and professional; quite a strong team. Dr. Levey has an energy about him that inspires confidence. He is welcoming...even coming into the lobby to introduce himself. He asked a lot of questions to ensure he had a good understanding of both my medical and dental history, then took an impressive array of photos for a baseline. I felt comfortable and at ease throughout the exam...and when I left, I knew my mouth was in very good hands. Dr. Levey is wonderful. I have been seeing him for over 10 yrs and always felt very comfortable with Dr. Levey and his staff. He is up to date on all new technology, he and his staff explain everything and never rush you. I had 2 dental emergencies over these past years and both times Dr. Levey responded to me within minutes (including after hours and on the weekends) and both times he saw me on the weekend, when the office was closed. to take care of my problem. Bard Levey and team are great! Professional and friendly. Efficient and sensitive to your well being at the same time. At one visit Bard and team suggested a treatment and I pushed back with valid reasons of my own. They listened and didn't push because they appreciate the fact that it is my mouth after all. I see them every 6 weeks for new braces and they are always accommodating. If you want your teeth in good hands, this is the place to go. The only reason I don't give them a 5th star? - they are out of network for me and I pay a notable amount above my health care plan. read more

First time patient. Bait and switch rip off. First, rates for procedures are double of any other dentist. Look toward $600 fillings that any other dentist would do for $250. Second, when asked if they take Guardian, receptionist insisted that they "work" with all insurance companies. Once I received a bill it turned out that they were out of network. Third, does not work with ANY insurance companies. Demands full payment from a patient before you leave without telling you how much you would get back from insurance. Was made to pay $1,400 before leaving, insurance only reimbursed $350. Fourth, called back after the claim to ask for a discount for a first time visitor, denied. Fifth, I was told that they would submit my claim after my visit. Checked claim status online for a month, nothing. Called back in one month later and it turned out they forgot to "press a button". Disgusting. Good luck with your scam. read more
