I took my kids and I to our appointments all at once. While one tech made my teenager comfortable enough to do the examines alone, another tech took my youngest and I together. The tech taking care of the two of us let my little one "help" with my initial examines so she wouldn't feel so nervous to do her own examines. My husband has used the Bard Optical in Washington, IL for several years with good results, but DO NOT ORDER GLASSES FROM PEKIN BARD OPTICAL. My son has been using Pekin Bard Optical since he moved to Pekin in 2017 because it is close to where he lives and will accept his Medicaid insurance. When his glasses broke as he was cleaning them, he called and made an appointment to have an eye exam and order a new pair of glasses, just like he had done two years before. Following his eye exam with the eye doctor the next day, the female helped him pick out a frame, and wrote up the complete order and had him sign it so Medicaid would pay for it. Since she had not volunteered any kind of time for when the glasses might be in, he asked how long it would take to get them. That was when she told him that people who had ordered glasses in July were still waiting for them! When he asked her what he was supposed to do with broken glasses for the next six months, she just shrugged her shoulders. No offers of seeing if they had any more of those frames, or calling other Bard offices to see if they had anything that might work. The doctor was very nice and friendly, however the office staff is extremely rude and not helping at all! I went in to buy some glasses because of the deal they had going on (buy your first pair, get a pair of prescription sunglasses free). The glasses I love but I paid all of the money to get the glasses and the sunglasses to go with. I ordered the sunglasses lenses to be grey/black. I received the sunglasses and the lenses are red! I go back into Bard to explain this is not what I asked for when I paid. The lady was extremely rude about it and told me they were in fact what I ordered. If they were what I wanted, then I wouldn't be back in the store complaining! I would not recommend!! read more

Read the tip...they all are morons. Avoid this BARD. They ruined a friends glasses trying to adjust them and never give him the correct information when he asks when he is eligible to get a new pair of glasses from the state. Other BARDS have had to help him! They have given me wrong info on contacts also. MORONS! read more

Had my eyes examined and they gave me a copy of my old prescription. Ordered optics from another vendor which were obviously incorrect. Even though the local staff admitted the error, Bard's corporate office refused to reimburse me for my expense caused by their mistake. I have been a very, very long customer and was very surprised that a profession wouldn't back up an incorrect prescription. read more
