Very cool and modern spot on the bourbon trail. Our guide was Michelle and she was super down to earth and knowledgeable. I really enjoyed the tastings from the barrel! We also got to look at the special whiskey library which was neat (pun not intended). We stayed for lunch and it was somehow / possibly even better than the whiskey!! Will was our server and he was the man! Soo attentive and friendly (give this man a raise!). We shared some apps - the chicken egg rolls and Brussel sprouts. For my main I got the Chef special which was the gumbo.. so good. read more

Interestingly, this tour started on a high note--with the tasting first, which was a great way to kick things off. Greg did an excellent job walking us through how to properly smell and taste the bourbon, which really set the tone for the rest of the experience. The flow of the tour was very well thought out. One standout detail was the use of headsets--something more distilleries should do--because you could actually hear everything clearly no matter where you were standing. Small thing, but it made a big difference. I also really appreciated the mat placed over the grates. As someone who isn't a fan of heights, that thoughtful touch made the experience much more comfortable. A highlight was the stop at the rickhouse, especially the owner's private room with the Versace table--definitely a unique touch. Getting to thief straight from the barrel was a fantastic experience and really capped things off. Overall, very well done and a memorable visit. read more

Second visit here. Not disappointed at all. We came to do barrel thieving tastings. What a blast. Alex was our host and she was super great. We learned a lot about the whole process and the taxes and all that and we got to taste from three different aged barrels and mash builds. Loved it! We also stopped in for Lunch at the restaurant there. Will took great care of us. It was a great afternoon. We'll be back to do it all again. read more

This distillery is one of the newer ones - if not the newest. The main building is really nice! We checked in (we were taking a cocktail making class) and then looked around the store for a little bit and, of course, we bought a few things. I believe there were five or six couples in our cocktail class. We walked to another building (it was called a speakeasy, but the term was used loosely) to take the class. It had a bar and some nice comfy furniture in it and it was really nice! Michelle walked us through making two cocktails and did a great job explaining why things were done the way they were. It was fun to make them - and even better to drink them! I'd say it's definitely a good place to check out and learn highly recommend the cocktail class! read more

All around, a great experience! The entire facility has an elevated feel and you can tell they paid attention to the details. Great athletic! We ate lunch and then did a tasting and a tour. The lunch was spectacular. I highly recommend the Korean chicken bites and the bourbon cheese cake! We had a great waiter who was personable and accommodating to our needs. The tour of the facility was very cool as well. The guide was very knowledgeable and we got to try some bourbon straight from the barrel. I highly recommend this distillery! What a treasure! Nestled among the stored bourbon barrels you'll find a fantastic restaurant with great vibes. We stopped here for lunch on our way through town and had a great experience. Our server spent time with us, recommended her fave food and provided great all around friendly service. We shopped in the gift shop while waiting for our food and found fair pricing on merchandise, and walked away with a couple of bottles of course. My two dishes were incredibly delicious and the presentation made them even tastier- Brussels sprouts and caprese salad- see my pics. Restrooms are clean, love the "no touching" real moss wall, and parking is plentiful. We will return and I'd encourage everyone to check out this place! read more

I visited Bardstown Bourbon Company on a recent trip to Louisville for the Bourbon trail. We did the Shaken not Stirred tour which was a hands on experience. You get to make two drinks and a bartender takes you through the art of drink making in detail. Bonus! You get to drink the two drinks you made! This is also the best place to eat and grab another drink after your tour in Bardstown. Great experience! Highly recommend visiting! read more

A great place to visit. The Restaurant here is a must try! The staff are super friendly and the food is really good. The menu changes seasonally, so everything is fresh and you can try something different if you visit multiple times per year. Today, I tried the small Caesar salad and the Korean Fried Chicken Bites. Both were delicious and each looked beautiful when served. The Caesar dressing on the salad and the Gochujang Sauce on the Chicken were both really special. The bar is beautiful and the cocktail list is excellent. The restaurant is bright and clean with lots of seating. It's fun to shop in the store while waiting for your food to arrive. This is a wonderful experience and the restaurant is definitely worth visiting. read more

Absolutely gorgeous buildings for a distillery. Book your tour as soon as possible if you're going to visit on the weekends. We made reservations for the restaurant which I am thankful for because they were so busy!! Very cool interior, not your standard barn with a remodeled interior. This place looks stunning inside. Beautiful, newly built distillery. Definitely has more of the Napa feel to it like they say the inspiration was for the property. The tour started off with a great sampling of various bourbons of theirs. We stayed after and checked out their restaurant which was amazing and their cocktails were even better! I would highly recommend it for anyone wanting try some dusty (vintage) pours of whiskey and learning more about bourbon/whiskey history. Three curated pours come with the experience. You do not get to choose the three pours but you can purchase additional pours you find interesting at the main bar areas. The experience takes place in their whiskey library where you are surrounded by vintage bottles. Macy was a wonderful guide. I'd been wanting to try Bardstown bourbon for a while, even have an unopened bottle of the wheated, but hadn't gotten to it yet. So I decided to just jump in with both feet and take a tour. One of the better tours for sure. And i was lucky enough to tour the rickhouse that had the speakeasy in it. I guess this doesn't happen every time. I got to try the entire origin series straight from the barrel and surprisingly decided i'd be buying the rye sometime. But you can get that most anywhere (and usually for less) so i picked up one bottle that was distillery only, and another from there collaborative series that was a little less than it is near me. The tour was great, the tour guide was great. Enjoyed myself here. read more

Did the Barrel Thieving with Alex and a great experience. Would definitely recommend. We had already done a couple "Normal" distilleries tours so wanted something different and this did not disappoint. Finished with a few drinks and lunch at the restaurant and it was all very nice. From start to finish this place is amazing. In their words, the company is one that's more innovative, transparent and collaborative. You feel this from the kitchen which serves amazing food to the end product which they deliver to many brand names. The tour is excellent, and I was surprised how open it was. You could ask anything and touch nearly anything that was safe to touch. Why is that one pink in color as opposed to all the others? The customer wanted us to use popcorn in making it, that's why. The gift shop is great too. But if you are eyeing something, get it while it is in front of you. Their inventory isn't that deep with some items so you might be disappointed if you wait until later. read more

From a tour quality, hospitality, and accessibility perspective, this is a five star tour experience. The whole establishment is less than 10 years old, and its a super clean affair, with a modern metal and glass building with lots of white, a 2 sided fireplace, and a double or triple height ceiling in the dining room. The dining room is worth a stop after your tour, if you arrive around lunchtime. The lamb ravioli is superb, the meatballs, disappointingly dry. I knock off one star only because the bourbons themselves are crazy expensive, with the most affordable bottle going at around $50. There are several options over $100. That's just ridiculous; the Venture Capitalists funding this enterprise are leveraging you to pay off their debt obligations. Worth a stop, though, for the tour, food and the Old Fashioned. Oh, and there is a furry wall, too. Well, mossy, but still. Tragically, they frown on stroking it, even if the world slipped you a jeffrey. read more

I recently had lunch at the Beautiful restaurant in the bardstown bourbon company's visitor center, definitely recommended if you are in the area. Everything is open, airy, and spacious, the food was good and the service was friendly. I was there for a bourbon tasting with a few buddies and we made a reservation for lunch about an hour before our tasting. The menu was quite small, which I was a bit disappointed about, there were only a few appetizers, a couple salads, and two sandwiches on the menu, plus a daily special. The special on the day we dined was a croquet madam and housemade chips. I have a feeling the daily special is generally going to be your best option, but they did offer a smash burger that was really tasty in case you aren't feeling the special. The croque madam was quite good, the egg was cooked just right and the ham seemed to be of high quality. Usually when I see chips as the side option I am underwhelmed when they arrive, but these chips are the exception to that rule, they were thick, crispy and addictive. They have a great bar with a huge selection of drinks and bourbon, and also a gorgeous out seating area with bocce ball and fire pits, very relaxing. read more

This was a hard one. We ran late to this tour, so I missed the opening video and some of the history. First tour where we did the tasting in the beginning. I'm just gonna give me a few and have me walk it off. Lol. No, but that was interesting. I did not care for any of the samples. However, it was a learning experience. This was the 1st tour where we were told we could touch the yeast on tip where the bourbon was in the fermentation stage. I was shocked. That's 2 Bardstown. Lol. Yes, I did touch it but did not taste it. Lol. The tour guide was very knowledgeable. This is a fast growing distillery. We did get a sample from the barrel while on tour. It was over 120 proof. Not to my liking. We did talk a lot to others on the tour. Great conversation. I was shocked to learn Kentucky Owl and Green River are bottled there. That's 3! My friends and I arrived as part of a day long bourbon tour. We had lunch at the Bardstown kitchen. Yes! 5 Stars all the way! The food was fresh and flavorful. I had the fried green tomatoes and Poke Bowl- added Ahi Tuna. It was excellent. The friend green tomatoes were SO good too! I was with a large group of 8, and no one complained about anything they had ordered. We passed food around and shared too. I tasted the Brussel sprouts and a few drinks. They were all good. Will was our server. I told him he was seriously the best server I have had in years!! In fact, I will be back and request Will to serve my husband and I so my husband can brag about the experience too. Patrick was our tour guide for the bourbon tour. Top notch! It was a great tour and we were able to ask any questions we had as well as learn a little about the industry and how Bardstown came to be. I still gave our experience 5 stars, but one of the bottles that I was looking forward to purchasing sold out while we were ON our tour. It was disappointing. We went to the Bardstown location for a cocktail making class. That was super cool and very informative! We learned 2 different drinks and received a souvenir glass and the recipes of the drinks we made after we were done. We decided to eat after our class, but there wasn't any tables but we were allowed to sit at the lounge sofas for a limited "sofa menu." It was weird that they had a limited menu for the sofa when the bar (which was right next to us) and the dining room had full menus. It took quite a while to get our food when we ordered salads so we thought that was strange. Overall the class was awesome, but the dining service was subpar. It's a great place to visit and tour, and the food is great, but the dining service wasn't great. read more

Started our meal with cocktails and fried green tomatoes. Both dipping sauces were fabulous but I loved the green goddess dip the most. I had the chefs special of the day which was Korean fried chicken over garlic mac and cheese. It was absolutely delicious! We also tried the fried chicken sandwich which was crispy and moist. The Bardstown Bourbon Company Rickhouse Barrel Thieving Experience is one I recommend for anyone as it gets you right in front of the whiskey, sampling, background, Q&A. Very immersive experience. The grounds are nice, the "skyline" of rickhouses is something to behold. We didn't eat at the restaurant but it was plenty occupied and seemed clean. The bar also had a nice aesthetic. Our tour guide (Macy) was friendly and knowledgeable. They talked to us and answered questions like we were regulars. Seeing the whiskey come straight from the barrel was a dream. I enjoyed that we essentially tried a flight of different whiskeys; bourbon, rye, finished/experimental etc.. We ended up taking a distillery exclusive rye home as this tour turned us bourbon folk onto rye. I had never tried their whiskey before this tour but heard the experience was good and those reviews weren't wrong. Tip your tour guide! Macy really made the experience five stars for us!
