Getting your first spray tan before your wedding is nerve wracking but Bare Organic Tan made the whole experience SO pleasant! I worked with Alex, the owner, throughout the process and she was the best - from helping me schedule my trial run and my wedding day tan, timing both sessions so that the trial tan would fade and blend perfectly into my wedding day tan, and ultimately helping me achieve the most perfect tan on my wedding day! Alex is so helpful, experienced, and also the sweetest person ever! It is apparent she loves what she does and is passionate about helping her customers achieve their perfect tan. They are located in the Del Mar Flower Hill Promenade plaza. I didn't have any issues finding parking both times. I made appointments ahead of time and they were easy to work with on scheduling based on my availability and when I would be able to shower, etc. I loved every interaction I had with Alex and obviously my wedding tan. Not only did it look amazing on the actual wedding day, it faded really well and continued to look great for the following days. I came in on a weekday afternoon. I had never been to this salon but based on the excellent reviews I decided to give it a try. I usually do a spray tan once a week as I can't be in the sun. So I am very familiar with the process. I also have a professional machine of my own at home and have been spray tanning for 10 years. I know the importance of exfoliating and I am very aware of the aftercare and the importance of moisturizing with a good quality lotion. The communication and ease of making an appointment was great! I was going out of town on a beach vacation and definitely needed a tan. The salon was super cute and very clean. The technician was sweet and seemed knowledgeable but overall my tan looked terrible. She assured me that my color would be very close to what I looked like when I walked out. Which was a golden bronze so I was super excited! I ended up showering about 10-12 hours after my tan had developed. And my color was anything but what it looked like when I had walked out of the salon. I had a white stripe on the back of my leg that looked as if it got missed. And it was a bit patchy and had an orange tint which I expressed prior to that tan that I did not want. The worst part is that I literally did not go in the water on our 3 day trip to Cozumel. I was way to embarrassed! After 6 days my tan now looks worse than ever. To pay almost $60 for a tan to look this way is very upsetting! For a first time client it is $49 and there is a yelp coupon that says you can save an additional 20 percent off. So I thought my tan would be around $39 but apparently new clients can't use that coupon because it's already discounted. It's unfortunate that it is not specified anywhere on that coupon. So just a fair warning!! It should say new clients excluded. That was misleading but hey want can you do. Lesson learned for me. read more

As a chemical sensitive person who wouldn't be caught dead looking like a fake tan Cheeto, I was hesitant to try out my first round under the instant sunshine spray can. But considering my upcoming mid-winter trip to the tropics and not wanting to be accidentally confused for a beached beluga whale I knew something had to be done. That's when my Yelp search found my organic spray tan soulmate - Alex. I decided to wear a skimpy thong under my loose maxi skirt and oversized Tshirt and flip flops (she said to wear loose fit clothes). Alex made me feel so confident and comfortable, considering that I stood there butt naked (in my thong) for 15-mins while she painted my body like a piece of art.
