I came in today as a walk-in, not even really wanting a service, but just curious I was helped by Diana . She was unbelievably sweet. Funny enough, I bumped into her into the store and she was so sweet even then so I just shows her hospitality as well as her customer service and how it extends just to strangers. I candy San Diego for vacation. I am currently homeless but we're living our lives. I was even able to bring my service dog Daisy, May and I was able to start a membership for one dollar due to their semi annual sale that's from September 13 up until September 15. I would recommend anybody to come here if they're just looking for a self-care day or a spa day or just pick me up. 100/10. read more

I went here with my bestie for the first time a couple weeks ago, and we could not have asked for a better experience! My friend got a certificate for a day pass as a gift, and she asked if I'd come for emotional support. Prior to this, our only experience with tanning of any kind was on the beach and with self-tanning lotions, so we didn't even know where to begin. Cut to Lexi, the wonderful tanning expert at this location, who we told our situation to and she immediately gave us the entire run down on how it all works. From showing us the services, giving us a tour of the facility, and helping us choose the services we wanted, Lexi was INTEGRAL in making us feel welcome, relaxed, and informed. We both ended up getting a red light facial, a session in the UV bed, and double dipping for a spray tan in the VersaPro. Lexi even warned us that we may look a little wild as the tanner develops, but to not worry that the results will be excellent once we rinse off. And she was so right! The next day at work, everyone kept telling me I look healthy, glowy, and beautiful. Courteous and friendly staff with good powered tanning beds keeps me coming back for more! The only suggestions I can think of is maybe a better music selection on the tanning bed that talks to you (the one located towards the front of the salon). Another suggestion would be to maybe offer customers a small towel (cloth or paper) prior to the tanning session that way we have something to wipe the excess sweat off of us. read more

She handled the woman in front of me with a smile on her face even though she was slammed and her guest was asking a million questions. Came here for a spray tan. Everything was fine until the machine activated. While spraying my front, the sprayer didn't go higher than my waist. Then I turned around and again the sprayer didn't go higher than my waist. I tried to bend my knees but it was too late and the session ended. I spoke to the employee who was there and explained what happened. She basically said "yeah some of the machines are glitchy". To which I replied "so what can I do? Only half of my body was sprayed." Instead of telling me to try a different booth, and instead of her offering me a refund, she said "see what happens at home and if only half of your body is tanned try to scrub it off." So there you have it. I paid $30 for a ridiculous half body tan. Terrible result and terrible customer service. read more

Meh. Was cool in the past, but now they no longer have deals for spray tans, they don't take appointments, AND you have to pay if you want a darker color. There are better places that will accomodate your needs, check out Tan by the Sea---it has more to offer! Update: It was nice that the manager addressed my review below, and I appreciate that! My review was based on a convo from just last week I had with the person who answers their phone, and unfortunately there wasn't any interest in trying to get my biz. Also, it still didn't address not allowing us to make appointments (other places do) & the extra charge for the darker sprays (other places do not). I just recently signed up for a membership with iTAN. I am truly blown away by their level of customer service! This is the second location I've been to and I cannot not say enough how welcoming they are! Izzy and Kylie explained all the procedures in detail! I must have asked a hundred questions! The facility and my room were immaculate! I would compare my room to an operation room, spotless! It's refreshing to walk in to a business such as this and have such up beat employees. DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY! My husband and I cancelled our accounts because we were moving and they promised and even sent an email saying we would not be charged any further! That was in May of 2020. They have fraudulently charged our account every month since. When we finally noticed and called to get reimbursed, they didn't do anything and continued to keep charging our account! They are not to be trusted!!! We have over $800 fraudulently taken from our account. I talked to two managers months ago about this issue & then they continued to charge our account. They just charged it on the 3rd AGAIN then emailed us on the 4th saying sorry & they offered us 6 free spray tans instead of giving us our money back, WHEN THEY KNOW WE ARE NOT EVEN LIVING IN THE STATE ANYMORE. I think I Tan is a nice place to go and get your tan on At first it's a bit of a rocky start. Different employees, having a hard time locating your new , so it's a bit aggravating We enjoy I Tan a lot Unfortunately I haven't been going bc of covid The only thing that kind of got me upset was the last shut down , they did not close their doors when all the salons, burke williams, etc sacrificed and closed their doors you stayed open I do understand the frustrating government decision but you also need to know that your clients depend on your safety measures I haven't gone back , frankly if closing for three weeks can minimize the viruses from spreading , then we should all comply for the sake of all those who have left us so early I appreciate all the safety measures in place. But staying open not only increases the spread of this deadly Virus to your clients , but as well as your employees. I have belonged to ITan for nearly 15 months years (don't judge) Over the weekend (9/27/2020) I was greeted by a pretty gentleman who's name I don't recall- tall and pretty dark haired queen (you know who you are) . Any way- he was the best representative of this business period! He knew every product, bed and explained the "extra" features. Of course trying to upswell me but! What he did do was teach me about the difference in equipment and added benefits of the Versa, which I love!!! But never knew for the last 3 years of spraying that it could do just legs or just arms or face! Okaaaaay? With, you ladies should take a note cause this guy/queen of my heart made me love iTam all over again! When tanner's come in, we are looking to look better than we did before. bad experience today. felt very unwelcome and rude presence at the front desk. super young girls. first was pressured to buy the membership politely declined. after just buying one thing like always they starter saying I have to sign things. you have inaccurate info. I have signed release forms at Encinitas itan 2 other times during the time of jan 2023-April 2023. this location feels it's appropriate and necesary to make me sign release forms each and every time I tan at every location. this is not the way it used to be. I don't have time for that. I said I don't want the tan anymore just refund the card. She said no. I asked to tan I have to go to work. As I walked down the hallway she started saying "WELL YOU WILL BE SIGNING IT NEXT TIME BLAH BLAH. Have signed enough at every location just recently. Bad service, not going to buy your membership. Not a fun time here. You should sign one release per location per year. Yet they find interest in having me sign 2-4 release forms per month at the 3 locations I visit. I am going to propose a new State law because of my iTan experience. I might even title it iTan Automatic Draft Scams. Purpose: To cut down on businesses profiting from "the small print" rather than profiting from their goods or services. Most all of us have signed up for a trial or introductory offer of sorts. Many of us have experienced a hassle to cancel the automatic withdrawal from the checking account. Some, like I did with iTans, didn't realize I had to cancel it in writing. Telling them verbally to cancel didn't do it for me. They charged me over $500 before I found that they were drafting my account. I didn't use their services during that 5 months. Yet, they refused to refund me. I wonder how much $ per month they take in from that scam like tactic? The new law I as m proposing would require that any attempt to withdraw from a checking account for any product or service must show valid evidence that the draftee is clearly aware of the first draft coming out. It must be a separate notice from the initial documentation and must be big bold and simple. In that notice they must also give clear instructions how to cancel the draft. The procedure to cancel should be via text or email with hyperlinks to make cancelling as easy as most "opt out" of email solicitations. If the drafter doesn't receive a valid positive response, then the draft can't be made. Just think about how nice it would be if vitamin sales and website memberships had to abide by this law. Unfortunately, because iTans and others are okay with customers having to operate in an environment of "buyer be aware", laws like this must be written in order to force them to do what they should do because it's the right thing to do. Should companies be rewarded for making money because of oversight or only for the value of their products and services? read more

I have attempted to business with iTan several times, this year I call responding to ads or the internet specials and I'm told that the special includes This or that , this time 49 credits as opposed to the 35 The advertise even called to confirm the text received yet when I arrived I was told oh no you don't qualify for the member special because .... Funny I called the day before and was told I do qualify but that person is no in ...., This is the third time in 2017 I have been lied to by them! I cancelled my membership as soon as I had a skin-cancer scare and had a minor surgery performed. I simply requested (in person) to cancel my membership. The gal at the front was seemingly very accommodating and advised me that my membership had been cancelled. I then went ahead and paid off my credit card, and didn't use that card again until 5 months later when I come to find that iTAN never cancelled my membership. I had been charged over $100 every month. I called them hoping it could easily be refunded as I hadn't gone in to the salon once based on their records during that time. They told me "they do not offer refunds" - I'm very disappointed by iTAN as they used to be my go-to. I will never, ever, waste my money here again. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY. read more

Well... Prior to coming in I called to discuss their product to make sure it would be a right pick for me. The girl on the phone seemed to have a lot of attitude which was confirmed once I arrived, not only was I not greeted I was given a rude look while interrupting her chat (Alex) is her name. followed by rolled eyes she looked at me, I followed by telling her that I had called earlier about setting up a membership, she responded by saying she gets plenty of calls, and she didn't remember me.. Okay, I understand that, but to blatantly tell me that makes me feel like I'm neither wanted or needed. Second mistake was staying there to get a little bit more info on the place, i went against my better judgement, she kept discussing her marital issues with another co worker in between our discussion. I mean come on? Just lay out your laundry to the whole public? I told her I would come back when she had more time, and she grunted.. Ru kidding me? You have lost a potential client for being rude, impatient, and completely ignoring and offending a customer. Not only the loss of a customer, but of a fellow business owner that would help promote your business. I think management should look into their employees attitudes. read more

I am IN LOVE with this location. I recently switched from spray to bed tanning, and I am so happy with the customer service I was shown. Savanah was so informative about how each lotion worked, showed me which beds to start with and how to build my tan. Also, afterwards Athena (who I believe is the salon director?) was also helpful and patient with all of my questions. Definitely a location I will be frequenting from now on! I've been an iTan Sun/Spray/Spa iClub member for almost a year, and Encinitas is my absolute favorite location! The staff are always super friendly, and suggesting things may help with my tan, spa, or spray experience. I have personally never experienced an overly salesman approach from the staff here, just the other night I told the girl working that I needed a new lotion, because I didn't like how greasy the lotion I currently was using felt on my skin. She literally spent 15 minutes with me going over all of the different lotions so that I could find the one that I liked and worked best for what I needed. I think the service here is amazing, and would definitely recommend anyone looking for a tanning salon in the area coming here. read more

I love itan, as far as sales driven tanning salons go ( are there even any other kind anymore?) I especially like how they let me change my plan around based on whats going on in my life. I frequent the Encinitas location and the one in Oceanide, the staff at both are friendly and adorable-although the Encinitas location has more options on the spa side of things and more booths in general. I DO wish they would take appointments for the level 5 beds and mystics at least. They wait on both is so long if you walk in during peak times-although it is super nice of them to provide robes so a gal cant dash between the two while making herself into a California cocktail! read more

I've been going to this iTan for a few years now. I absolutely love how natural my spray tans look for when I go to festivals and concerts! I'm normally very pale and try my best to take care of my skin since I burn easily. I don't like tanning in the sun and I love that spray tans are a safe sunless way to tan. Also, the products they use for their tans are good for your skin and ast a lot longer than other spray tan places and their tans don't really have that orange-ish tint like other tanning salons. The staff is very friendly although some of them can be a bit pushy about selling their products. Meghan helped me out last time and she was very helpful and informative on what kind of tan I should get. read more
