I liked the dresses in the window of Barefoot Boutique, so I had to go and check it out. Big, airy space, nice merchandise, I love the style, flowy, ore subdued colors, nice fabrics, cool, loose designs. If you want something more interesting and original, this boutique is a great option on State Street. Prices are a tad high, but it could be a nice treat to get a high-quality piece for yourself. I have always loved the store and been coming here on and off for the past eight years haven't been in Santa Barbara for about six months walked in yesterday. Typical for the store no greeting from the young girl behind the counter as she was on her phone no." Can I help you" zero interaction. This has been typical of the store for the past eight years. I don't understand the owner wanting this kind of customer service and from the reviews this is pretty typical and it's kind of sad because I do love the clothes. 1 star The owner cannot care less about her customers. No refund policy, she doesn't even has the courtesy to answer an email or a phone call. She doesn't talk to customers and hides behind her young college students employees. I am a business owner myself and cannot relate to this type of person. Cheap quality merchandise anyway, not worth the hassle. read more

Discrimination. That's what this business specializes in. Not clothing. My daughter applied for a part time job at this archaic store yesterday and the first words out of the owners mouth without even glancing at her application, was 'We don't allow nose rings here'. What year is this? In a present day world, piercings, tattoos, the color of a persons hair, all are common place in many businesses. (BTW...My daughter has no 'visable' tattoos. Just earrings and a very small nose ring) Retail or corporate. To be so judgmental and conservative in this day and age seems ridiculous. Other cultures accept piercings, Tattoos etc. I guess the snobbish conservatives of Santa Barbara just can't get over the fact that the new generation of smart, educated, free spirited thinkers will be the ones taking over their businesses someday. And! My daughter also has her BA degree from USCB and come September she will be off to the UK for her masters degree. Yes. Intelligent with a nose ring. Go figure. I will make sure to walk pass this store and tell others I know to not waste their time and money as well. read more

Nice addition to State St shopping. Beautiful women's fashion boutique. Clothing and jewelry priced from $ to $$$$. Lisa the owner has extended her fun, functional and tasteful fashion from her stores in Ventura and at The Collection to now include Santa Barbara. Her clothing items are light, flowing, dress up or dress down, tasteful and fun. I found skirts and dresses with pockets, pockets are a winner every time. saw a really cute jumper in the window, went in to try on, loved it! However, the women sitting behind the counter were too involved in devices to acknowledge me. Didn't engage me while I was looking at the different jumpers. I grabed the jumpers asked if I could try them on, they said yes, didn't leave the counter to escort me to the dressing room. Not a place I wanted to spend my money. Walked down the street angry, thought about it again and went back. The jumpers are too cute to let teo lazy ignorant sales people rob me of joy. of course, went back in and had the exact same experience, and I just couldn't give them my money. Not even a thank you for coming in. while in the dressing room, I found a place in LA to buy the same jumper at 20% less, will just order it from them. read more

My wife loves this store, an easy go to for me for gifts. Never totally sure what to get, as my first instinct will probably be wrong, but the young ladies in the store are able to steer me in the right direction. Never saw myself buying her Italian silks and linens but that is where they steered me and she loved it. Highly recommend. read more

Horrible service! Went here to buy a sundress for my wife for Mother's Day. The sales girl wasn't helpful at all. I found a cute dress but it was "One Size Fits All". That size usually doesn't fit my wife because she is so petite. I expressed my doubt that it would fit and the sales girl was quick to correct me: "oh no - it will fit!". Then on Mother's Day, sure enough, it is way too big for my wife. But no problem, I thought. I kept the receipt, the tag is still on it, and it is still in the same bag the store provided. We should be able to return it for cash - or at the very least, store credit. NOPE. "All sales final". My wife went into the store the following weekend to return it. The same girl was there - behind the counter texting on her phone. She looked up and noticed my wife - then went back to texting her BFF. Finally, now off her phone, she merely said "all sales final" - then was quickly back onto her phone. I understand that some stores need to have a no return policy. But if that is the stance you're going to take, don't be so damn pushy and insist the "one size fits all" really fits all. Oh yeah - and get off your damn phone. read more

I was on vacation in Santa Barbara and walked into this store while on State Street. Everyone was super nice and helpful. Nordstrom level service! I ended up buying a dress and a top and the prices were very reasonable. Great experience overall. read more

Absolutely horrible end to what could have been a great experience and repeat business. I bought $340 worth of stuff then remembered I had a $50 gift certificate which was the whole reason I went in there in the first place. I let the next person in line go because I didn't want to make them wait while we reprocessed some of the transaction onto the gift card. After that, the sales associate said "we can't process returns because of Covid". I say, "What?" This is not a return. I'm keeping everything I bought and I haven't left the store with it. We need to just redo part of the transaction." She texted the manager to ask how to do this because she is new. The manager said "No, we can't do returns during Covid. Hopefully she'll just come back later and buy more with the gift certificate." I tell her, " Are you sure she understands that I didn't take this stuff home and literally just bought it moments ago? It's not a return. It's just reprocessing only a portion of the transaction to use the gift certificate." The sales associate texts her again and still the manager says "No. We can't with Covid protocol." This literally makes ZERO sense! 1) If brought the clothes home and was actually trying to return them, it would make sense that that wouldn't be allowed. This was not the case. 2) She said it's about clothes being worn. That is also impossible because people are coming in all day trying clothes and no one buys every single thing they try on. Plus, this would only matter if I was actually returning the clothes, which I wasn't. I feel badly that the sales associate was caught up in this. She was very sweet and it's not her fault that she was stuck in an absolutely ridiculous situation. If I could have returned them after hearing such absurdity twice, I would have returned the full $350 of clothes I bought just not to support an establishment that would do something so asinine. Unfortunately, I have to go back because I will not let them have $50 of gift certificate money without having to release product for it. But I wouldn't spend a penny extra next time and won't return. There is no justification for not finding a solution to this. read more
