As a professional musician myself, I'm pretty (OK, extremely) picky and critical of wedding musicians- I look at so much more than the list of songs that they play- it's about professionalism, responsiveness, flexibility, charisma, and of course, musicianship. As soon as I stumbled upon Barefoot Minded, I knew I needed to look no further. These guys could not be more perfect for a contemporary, laid back beach wedding in Hawaii. Oren responded to me within a few hours of my request, and we were on the phone shortly after discussing how to make our wedding exactly what we wanted. He learned special songs for us and our little girls, His prices were great, and contracting with him was professional enough to make me feel secure, yet easy enough to do in a matter of minutes. We were SO HAPPY that we chose Barefoot Minded to be a part of our wedding :) We had Oren and Junior play for our ceremony and our cocktail hour and they did such an amazing job! They truly live and represent the spirit of Aloha in everything they do. My husband and I had been searching for a band that suited our interests and personal styles for our wedding. We came across barefoot minded doing an internet search, and were quite pleased when we listened to clips of their music online. We knew that we preferred live music. We noticed that they offered a good array of music options that fit our folksy -jack johnsony vibe (new music genre- hehe) . We communicated mainly with Oren, and he took the time to meet us first. I recently got married in Maui on the beach and wanted to have some music in the background. I wasn't sure how this would turn out but thought having a Ukele would be awesome! Barefoot Minded were perfect. I had Oren come out and play and it turned out way better than I could have ever expected. Especially with planning a wedding from stateside; there is no trial and rehearsal so either its going to work or not! I chose to just have Oren come out and it truly was perfect. I didn't want a traditional wedding march down the beach as that is just not island like. The only instruction Oren got was to make it island like. He had a wonderful voice, the music was awesome and I felt like he was a part of the group there, not some individual playing music on the side. To some up our experience with Barefoot Minded in two words, completely awesome! We were instantly impressed by listening to their music online and watching their videos. Their vibe was exactly what we had been searching for in musicians and we were so excited they had availability. All dealings with Barefoot Minded were professional and incredibly prompt. Played the ceremony, happy hour, and reception for our wedding. Told them the bands we liked from the list on the website, and made their setlist based on our preferences. Had to play acoustic due to the limitations of the venue and were fantastic. The band had everyone dancing by the end of the night. Many of the attendees are in the industry, so are very critical, and couldn't say enough good things about the band. Even took requests from the bride/groom as to what songs they wanted. They played during the cocktail hour and for part of the reception and we had so many guests compliment on how great they sounded and how fun it was to have live island style music play as everyone had drinks and appetizers by the ocean and as everyone watched the gorgeous sunset. We couldn't have been happier with our experience! Barefoot Minded was the first thing we booked after setting the date and location of our Maui wedding. They came highly recommended, and after looking into other musicians, the decision was easy. Working with Oren and Junior was great! Barefoot Minded provided live music for our ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception. They were absolutely great to work with and made the event very enjoyable! They sounded so great it was often hard to tell whether they were live or taking a break and playing a song from the playlist... they sounded that good! These guys completed our wedding night! They're worth every single penny! They were absolutely amazing.
