Like two sneaky teenagers, my then fiancé (now wife;) and I had the fun idea to elope to Maui over the Thanksgiving holiday. I would give Charles 10 starts if I could, he was truly amazing! My parents and I were in Maui recently and they wanted to renew their vows after 23 years of marriage. We contacted Charles when we arrived on Maui since our schedule was so up in the air. Charles was super quick with communication and was able to fit my parents in on their actual anniversary day. When the day for the ceremony came Charles was great. It was just a group of 5 of us (including my parents) and he set us all up and told us what to do without the need for any prior practice. Charles provided a truly touching ceremony. His Hawaiian chants and prayers connected us to the land where we were and was truly special for our ohana. We were lucky enough to spend a little more time with Charles after the ceremony and he is such an amazing person. We shared stories about our own connections with Hawaii and Maui specifically and we enjoyed getting to know Charles a little deeper. Mr. Charles Nahale was 15 minutes away when I called. He made a quick decision to change the venue & coordinated with our photographer. I felt rushed when we arrived in Kaanapali Beach, but we found a secluded spot, the sun was shining, the waves were gentle, and we had a deeply touching Hawaiian ceremony officiated by Mr. Nahale. One of our most favorite parts of our beach wedding in Maui was Reverend Charles Nahale. He was so warm and genuine and he really went out of his way to make our ceremony special. You can tell he has a real love for what he does. He sang and played some beautiful Hawaiian love songs and did some traditional Hawaiian wedding chants. He is a fabulous musician. The lei and ring ceremony was perfect and we loved the wedding call on the conch shell. You could hear these all up and along the Maui beaches at sunset during the week we were there.
