We truly enjoyed our experience on the Barefoot Queen Paddle Boat. The people who work for this company from where you check in to the servers on the boat where very friendly and helpful. The Captain greeted you as you boardedthe boat with a friendly smile. I have to say Adriana and the bartender downstairs Daniela where great. I found the food to be delicious and tender. They call you up by table to the buffet setup but they serve it to you. 1st the food was hot not warm. The rice dish with pieces of chicken, sausage was seasoned just right. The pork tenderloin was so tender it almost melted in your mouth. The potatoes were good and the carrots nice and tender. The atmosphere was relaxing. The barefoot queen voyage was the best! From the live on board entertainment to the delicious meal with a salad and dessert, I have no complaints about this experience! The dinner was almost buffet style, but Veronica from El Salvador was serving the food. there were choices of meats including pork, and the one I chose the chicken sausage. I got it with the rice which I think was basmati and carrots. Also included was a large stuffed red pepper that was delicious! It was stuffed with rice as well. I decided to skip the white potatoes. My meal was delicious flavorful and filling. There was also a salad on the table when we got there with lots of fresh mixed greens but not a lot of fresh veggies. There were two prepackaged single serving sizes dressing choices, including ranch and Italian so I chose the Italian. There was a delicious fruit cobbler for dessert that was filled with fresh blueberries. It was sweet and a delightful choice for dessert. For an additional cost, you could get alcoholic beverages and the bartender was super talented! I ordered a strawberry margarita and since he didn't have that exact mix, he improvised and ended up making a perfect delicious strawberry margarita! In fact, I told him it was the best drink I've ever had in my life! It even had fresh strawberries in the bottom of it. We sailed down the intercoastal waterway while our host narrated the sites and scenes. There were beautiful, huge mansions and one of them had 25,000 ft.² and included an indoor basketball court a bowling alley and indoor and outdoor pool! He told us that the cheapest house in that area was $2 million! Each was beautiful and elaborate. The boat was very comfortable as we were inside with comfortable air-conditioning. It was also a very comfortable ride as most of the time we couldn't even tell we were moving at all unless we were looking out our window. We loved the fact that we got a table right beside a window to eat our dinner and enjoy the sites. We went outside and stood on the deck and enjoyed the beautiful breeze as we watched a speedboat go by. another speedboat pulled slowly up next to us and the driver and I became boat brethren as we waved to each other. again, I thoroughly enjoyed the trip on the barefoot queen! read more

Tried this as part of our anniversary visit to Myrtle Beach. First the positives - the boat is very cute, the host was charming and he sang throughout the ride (which was also a bit of a negative). However, it would have been better with a respite so there was some quiet time to enjoy the experience and have a conversation - it was very loud inside and outside (I can understand some of the dirty looks from the homeowners as we passed). The worst thing was, unfortunately, the food. Dry, bland, overcooked and flavorless-literally everything was white. I was looking forward to the blueberry cobbler for dessert and it was a Southern abomination! The topping was nothing my chunks of unbaked flour mixture! I left starving. Had tickets for the Barefoot River Cruise on Friday May 8th 2026, and went with a group of people, and we were also celebrating a birthday. Before I continue, here are some tips: 1. Leave early, we were stuck at the drawbridge for a while, and that can back up the experience. 2. parking- there are two parking areas, and one also has a shuttle that comes, but the cruise itself was near a restaurant and could have parked there maybe. In our experience also, we were the first ones there, and had to call riverboat cruises to unlock the gate, who did so polietely. 3. I personally don't like cruises because I get seasick, but take dramadine and that helps. 4. if you park in the parking lot with the shuttle, be aware that there are no bathrooms around and would have to go to one of the busineses we passed. had to pee, and used the convience store to use the restroom after looking in the hotel or housing area. Maybe there should be a porter potty around or something? Shuttle ride was quick and comfortable, and that took us to the dock. Captain boarded with a friendly smile. Boat was somewhat easy to board. There is both a lower and upper deck. My party went to the lower deck, but the upper deck had live music, and a narrator named Les. As we started the cruise, Les gave us some fun facts about the area and sang songs, mostly 60's, 70;s songs. And he mentioned about my dad's birthday! There was also a dinner buffet, where tables are called via table and is served chicken bog, pork, and carrots. On tables beforehand were salads, and for dessert chocolate tender cupcakes. Food was actually good, and enjoyed the chicken bog, as well as the chocolate cupcake. Bartender was friendly, and remembered that I ordered a shirley temple. Loved the views of local businesses, like the backyard restaurant, and loved seeing the nature and area with big houses by the water. This held its own in a much more casual fun way. Let's start with the staff. They were phenomenal! Excellent and friendly service. The food and drinks were surprisingly well seasoned and delicious. We went on the lunch cruise on Saturday March 14,2026. They were very accommodating. I am handicapped with a walker. They had given us a phone number to call when we arrived that they then directed us through 2 gates to get near the dock and into a handicapped parking space. If you have to park up in the other parking lot there is a shuttle bus to bring down you to the dock. The captain and the crew were very helpful in getting me onto the boat. The lunch was bulky roll sandwiches , chips and a cookie. Along with a drink. The scenery was beautiful, viewing many estates and some wildlife. The woman who narrated the cruise also sang some 70's songs for atmosphere. She was very good and took requests. Overall it was a relaxing cruise for a Saturday afternoon. read more

We had a group of 10 in our group and we chose not to order lunch because I was told there were snacks available to purchase. The cruise left at 11:30 am and we found out you could order beverages but the only food available was to purchase a corn dog. We did that, but I wish there had been additional items to choose from. The boat was very clean and inviting, the entertainment was great. It was nice that we could open the windows but it would have been nicer if there was more outdoor seating. We had the BEST experience today on this cruise. Went for lunch as a birthday treat for my hubby! Our Uber driver drove us right to the dock to get the boat instead of at the parking lot to catch the shuttle because we were running close to departure and I didn't want to miss it. They called to make sure we were still coming. On the way there, it was POURING rain! The second we stepped on the boat, the rain slowed and the sun came out!! The rest of the trip was smooth sailing! The staff was amazing! From the captain, to the singer /narrator (Dan or Dave...sorry I can't remember) who was awesome, to his wife Audrey, to the bartender Michelle to Jeff who helped us direct our Uber to pick us up, to Antwain who answered all of our questions, everyone was so nice! We didn't purchase the lunch but the sandwich looked good so I got it and it was pretty tasty. It turned out to be a beautiful day on the Barefoot Queen! We will be back next time we're in SC! We enjoyed this lunch cruise. Did not order the meal, so can't comment on any food. We really enjoyed the singer, although we would have preferred more fascinating history he provided. The singing was good too though. Only one song I didn't know! I gave it only three stars b/c right before we boarded (and we arrived early) a full tour bus of customers got on the boat. By the time we were able to board (like I said, we were 20 min. early) there were literally only two seats even left to take. We almost had to stand up the whole time - not good. We really enjoyed seeing the backs of the mansions that overlooked the intercoastal waterway. It began right on time and arrived back spot on time also. There was one woman, though, standing in front of the bathroom (she was facing the singer) who literally glared at me not once, but twice. This was our second time, first time for a Christmas party this time a themed cruise, While the ride is nice the food is just ok but for the money it should be a longer cruise. Good thing I didn't read the reviews before we booked the cruise as we would have missed a good time. The food may have left missed the mark but the cruise itself down the coastal waters, the points of interest were highlighted and the ride was very relaxing. I am surprised at the negative comments on the singer. Granted he was not a 10 to each of the songs he sang, but he was good and very entertaining. He interacted with the passengers and was a huge success for me and I think most of the customers on board. The extra drinks were not over priced like most of the area attractions. I thought very reasonable considering you are on the water and have no alternatives. Elevate the food a notch or 2 and this becomes a highly recommended must see attraction. My group of 25 enjoyed our scenic afternoon cruise on the Barefoot Queen. The narrator and singer, Les Marple, was entertaining, knowledgeable and professional. The crew was accommodating and kept our free iced tea, sweet tea and water flowing. I would highly recommend the cruise. There is plenty of seating inside the two decks on the ship and good outside views from the front and back of the ship. I am in a wheelchair, and they were very accommodating to my needs . The staff was nice and very helpful. The food was ok it was cold, should have been brought out right after we sailed. The lady that sang was too loud downstairs, I would rather have soft music thank her singing with the music. She did tell us some about the river and the really expensive homes. For anyone who wants the unvarnished true full experience - Here you go: First off let me say that this review has nothing to do with whether the staff is friendly. They are all very friendly. However, no matter how friendly they are, it doesn't change the fact that this "attraction" is a complete waste of time and money. THE COST: We spent more than $215 on three tickets for the "scenic" dinner cruise. THE DINNER: It was a meal that would cause residents in any low-income nursing home to revolt. Served on plastic plates with plastic picnic flatware wrapped in a tiny paper napkin it was served buffet-style with a preset teeny tiny salad consisting of wilted iceberg lettuce, shredded carrots, a slice of cucumber, a couple of cherry tomatoes, and a choice between two pre-packaged Ken's Salad Dressings - Ranch or Thousand Island. No croutons, no peppers, no olives, no cheese, absolutely nothing special. The "entree" consisted of shriveled up carrots, disgusting red potatoes, a piece of chicken that had a thick layer of fat and looked like it had been steaming in a crockpot all afternoon, along with a stale dinner roll that came with imitation butter packets. And for dessert? A teeny tiny slice of dry chocolate chip Bundt cake. Hint: Aldi's will sell you the same ENTIRE cake - six servings - for the bargain price of just $2.99. No coffee is served. If you want anything other than water or iced tea, be prepared to fork over $10 per drink. THE "ENTERTAINMENT:" I use this term very generously since it would clear out the absolute worst, cheesiest karaoke bar after the first three minutes of horrendous sour notes. It is nothing more than some extremely musically-challenged dude doing karaoke for two hours. Trust me when I say that, Elvis, Frank, Davey Jones, John Lennon, and many more, were all rolling over in their graves. HINT: Bring earplugs because it is 120 torturous minutes of your life that you will never get back. THE "SCENIC" BOAT TOUR: Three simple words - It's not scenic. Unless you consider floating past the back yards of a few $5M homes, even more backsides of trashy restaurants, AND a few house trailers, proudly displaying their Trump 2024 banners, don't expect to see anything that a reasonably intelligent person would consider to be "scenic." It's a boat ride up and down a canal that is no more "scenic" or interesting than a freeway exit ramp. THE LESSON: Do yourself a huge favor and take a pass on this cheesy tourist trap. Save your money, pack a picnic basket with some wine and delicious cheeses and crackers. Beautiful scenery, but the rest was just ok. The food was cold and the chicken was so tough that no one could eat it. Most of the plates being picked up by the staff had full pieces of chicken on them. The carrots were rubbery and the potatoes were cold. The entertainment guy basically sang karaoke the whole time. I actually thought he was a guest for a while. It would have been more enjoyable if he just played the songs like a DJ. PJ was our bartender and he was friendly and made delicious drinks. The staff were all very friendly and appeared to love working the boat. So overall, the food was not good, entertainment was not good and the staff were friendly. I did this cruise on 4/17/21. I booked online a couple days before. I thought it would be fun and interesting. I'm celebrating my birthday weekend. I found a coupon for 10% off as well. It was $30 a person normally and $3 off with discount. After taxes and stuff, it equals right at $60. Upstairs, there was a singing host named Travis. The upstairs bartender was Terry (I believe that's what I heard her name to be). The downstairs bartender was Austin. Food: They offered snacks (chips and candy), alcohol, nachos, and hotdogs. One issue is that they didn't have enough food cooked. We arrived a bit late and there were no nachos or hotdogs. We was told to come back in about 5 mins. When we did, the People in front of us ordered hotdogs but changed their mind and the bartender threw them away.... what a complete waste. They were warm but not hot, according to bartender. She said we would have to wait about 10 more minutes for them to be warmed up. After a while, staff realized the fuse blew in hotdog warmer, so we had to wait a bit longer to get our order. When we finally got the food, the hotdogs still was barely warm.. so disappointing. My friend got nachos. These were ready before the hotdogs. He said they were cold too. He got a hotdog and couldn't even finish it. I only finished my 2 hotdogs because I was hungry and didn't have time to eat before coming. 3 hotdogs and nachos was about $15. He also got a high tide cocktail. It had a strong coconut flavor and definitely wasn't for me since I'm not a fan of coconut, but he enjoyed it. Info: The host, Travis, provided some information about the boat. The boat was built in 1974 and has two heated and cooling decks. We were cruising at 6 knots. This boat is located in Barefoot Marina Cruise: You have to take a shuttle from the parking lot to the marina. Shuttle comes every 5 minutes, per signage. We didn't leave the dock until about 12 and we're were back right at 1pm. Per receipt and website, I was getting the scenic cruise which is supposed to be 2 hours long. I looked at the website and it seems like we got the 1.5 hour sightseeing cruise. Regardless, we didn't get our full time. Additionally, there wasn't much to see at all. Nothing but trees and houses. In the beginning, we passed a bunch of restaurants too. Honestly, if you're looking to see things like animals and nice scenery, then I don't recommend this at all. If you're looking to just relax on a boat and drink, then this will be fine for you. I just don't think I would do it again. Before leaving, I spoke with a worker. I was told that we did the sightseeing cruise and that on the website, it should say evening scenic cruise. The scenic cruise and the dinner cruise are the same thing. The only difference is you pay more if you're going to eat. This was a bit confusing and clarity should definitely be provided on the website and receive. If I'm buying the sightseeing cruise, my receipt should say that. Additionally, if just because the cruise didn't start on time, that doesn't mean that it should end on time. One good thing about this was being on the dock at the front of the boat and being out in the sun. It was a bit windy so the sun helped. Additionally, we had some good conversations with a couple who was out there as well. _______ Cons: Food wasn't ready/available, food was cold or barely warm when we got it, didn't get full 1.5 hours (only 1 hr), there wasn't much to really be seen for it to be a sightseeing cruise, not much space on the dock for standing and being outside. and the lack of clarity between sightseeing and scenic cruise during booking Pros: Fully stocked bar, good drinks, and good conversation with people we met on the cruise read more

We went on the Adventures in Parrotdice cruise on June 25, 2024 to celebrate Jimmy Buffet. The cruise description was "Hey Good Lookin! Come join us as we cruise the Longitude and Latitude of the IntraCoastal Waterway and celebrate Jimmy Buffet with Cheeseburgers in Paradise and Boat Drinks, as well as other specialty themed food and drinks." We did not see his house as the boat turned around before we got that far. Also, the cheeseburger buns were so hard you could not eat them. That being said, the Barefoot Queen staff were GREAT, very attentive and friendly. We just wish that they had delivered what they advertised. read more

We went in the 1.5 scenic cruise. Scenic is a bit of a stretch. Basically a short version of a Mississippi River cruise, if you know what I mean. That said, the 1.5 hours was great and very inexpensive for the ride and the history, and the music. We didn't eat so I can't speak to the food but for a $7 up charge, it looked fine. It is, after all, Myrtle Beach! Leah, the narrator and entertainer, alone was worth the money. The music selection was spot on for the cruise and the girl can sing! The bartender on the lower deck knows what he is doing and knows how to work the guests. The crew seems to enjoy their work.... Refreshing for our modern times.. BTW, stop and eat at the marina bar and grill after your ride. You can spend 4X the money at LuLu's across the ICW and get the same thing.... All in all, a nice noon diversion.. read more
