    Alligator sighting

We thoroughly enjoyed our river tour. Saw wildlife, including turtles, osprey, and alligators. Also heard quite a bit about the local history. Our tour guide, Agnes, was informative and funny. The captain did an awesome job spotting wildlife along the way. Also had a nice gift shop, that included snacks and drinks.

We had the absolute pleasure of taking a Waccamaw River tour. First of all, I have to say that Betty and the staff were an absolute pleasure to deal with. The gift shop is cute, there's lots of little knickknacks and shirt and things, as well as beverages, binoculars, ice cream, etc. We were able to meet Bella, their mascot Rottweiler before boarding. Once on board, the captain started to take us out into the river and we met our tour guide, Agnes. Throughout the hour and a half tour, Agnes filled us in on the history of the area, pointed out lots of flora and fauna, and had lots of interesting little tidbits of knowledge about the history of such and how it used to be used. When we would spot some wildlife, such as turtles, Osprey, or yes, even alligators, they would try to stop the boat or maneuver the boat to get a better look, and then Agnes would fill us in on the species. Interspersed throughout the journey, Agnes was quick with little jokes, and was very interactive with the guests, especially the children on board. What a great little find, I'm so happy to give them the five-star rating that they deserve, and can't recommend taking the time out of your beach vacation enough to stop by a take a tour.

The boat trip was so refreshing! After all the touristy parts of Myrtle Beach, it was awesome to see a completely different and natural side of the area. We learned loads of history and facts from the guide that truly made the trip special. We saw osprey, herons, turtles, vultures, and four different alligators - all in their natural habitat. This boat ride was the cherry on top to our beach vacation.

Great experience with this tour - friendly and knowledgeable staff and we learned a lot about the area and the animals. The captain and the guide made sure to point out all the animals and made sure we had time to really get good views of them. We never felt rushed and got lucky and saw a blue heron, osprey in nests, lots of turtles, and quite a few alligators. We had never done this tour before and it was a nice break from the touristy side of Myrtle Beach.

What a great day away from the hustle of the main Myrtle Beach strip. We stayed near the Boardwalk area and this was about a 25 minute drive. Once you arrive at the drive for Waccamaw RT you have to wind around through the "Zoo" to get to the RT area in the back. Check in at the building on the right and you will be all set. Tours typically leave on time, which is nice, and take about 90 minutes. The tour guide was very knowledgable and did a great job interacting with the kids. There is so much about this area that many locals don't even know. Obviously, if you came to see gators, be patient and understanding. They are hard to see and they don't always want to be seen. We were lucky and saw one teenager. Many other wild life and plants to see. Be sure to stay out of River's way if "Pirates" come through...

This tour was well worth the reasonable price. Captain Sid was knowledgeable and entertaining. It was a perfect autumn day which made it even better.

We came on a day when we thought the weather at the beach was going to be less than ideal - lucky for us, the Zipline tours operate rain or shine. We ended up having great weather for it too! It was super easy to book. Once we got there, they got us kitted out, then we went through a quick (yet thorough) instruction on how to safely zipline. It was a group of 5 of us plus our guides. The tour took about 2 - 2.5 hours, and you get to go on 10 different ziplines. It was a fun way to spend an afternoon. Especially if the weather is going to be less than ideal and you need some way to kill time. Our tour guides, Chase, Miles, and Zach, were great! Thanks y'all!

For the Zipline tour, we had Jesse, Margaret, and Lacey as our guides and all of them were great! Jesse is very fun and funny, Margaret is super sweet, and Lacey had amazing knowledge on fun facts throughout the tour! The zip lines were very fun, and all three guides took every measure to ensure our safety, creating a good sense of trust. We all felt like a group of friends by the end of our tour. They also take photos at the beginning, middle, and end of the tour with specific spots for photo ops which I truly appreciate! (You do have to pay for the photos.) I will absolutely recommend The Swamp Park to friends and family! We plan to come back and try the ATV tour next!

I purchased the Tea Service ahead of time. Everyone was very friendly but I will say, overly cautious. I had indicated that I have a tree nut allergy on the notes when I booked our reservation and I have never had an establishment refuse me service because of my allergy , but they did. For the life of me I couldn't understand why a slight adjustment couldn't be made to remove almonds from one tiny dish. They also refused to serve one of my daughters for a lactose intolerance note. I assured them it was ok and I had a lactaid for her to take, she'd be fine. I had only included that note because SOME places will offer alternatives. Ultimately, they served us but I had to sign a waiver, never have I ever until now. Most of the tea service items were very good with the exception of the tiny lemon chess pie which was curdled and tasted of rotten eggs, awful. The tea was excellent and the scones and curd and cream were great too. The area where the dining room is, is nothing fancy at all. It was decent but I was truly disappointed as I was hoping for something more extravagant for tea service. The plantation home, while nice was also truly underwhelming. Great history, good tour guide who was very knowledgeable and a great storyteller, but the house was not anywhere near as fancy as others I have visited. I think what was the biggest let down was that this was the first time my daughters were visiting any plantation home and it was not at all what I was hoping for them to see and experience. If I had known what it looked like more ahead of time, I would have chosen another location in the area. Pictures inside the home are not allowed.
