Wow! My husband and I decided to surprise our sons ( ages 6& 9) on a fun family weekend get away. Initially, I was looking to sign up with another pirate cruise company but they were booked. I am so happy we were able to reserve a spot with Blackbeard's Pirate Cruise. The staff was phenomenal (stellar customer service!)! The pirates were very convincing and stayed in character from beginning and end. There were so many fun activities to do on the boat along with face painting before the cruise. I would suggest to bring cash for drinks on the boat( water& soda) and for tipping the staff. I would definitely recommend Blackbeard's Pirate Cruise, my family and I enjoyed every minute on the cruise! We had so much fun that my 6 yo didn't want to leave lol! What an awesome experience for my pirate loving little guy. My kiddos are age 5 and 10. 5 year old was in heaven. 10 year old a little outgrown for the show but loved the sword fight. He was a champ for his lil bro. Truthfully I loved it, who doesn't love seeing their kiddo's dreams come true. When you arrive there is parking specifically marked for the cruise. You will walk past Captain Archie's and there is a white building (small) on the left where you check in. They have pirate gear for purchase but we opted to bring our own items from home. The crew made it such a cool experience for the kids. The cruise lasted a little over an hour. The main deck is where the kiddos enjoy the pirate cruise (parents can stay to help or sit on upper deck). The kids were kept active the whole ride (cannon fights, sword fights, water gun battle, mopping deck, treasure hunt and ended with a little dance party. At the end you can purchase the photo which is inside a "case." It is $20 or $21 with a credit card. I highly recommend. Check groupon for deals. Wow! This was soooo fun! We called to book our first pirate cruise on Tuesday. It was super easy and they text me the directions. We got there 45 minutes before the tour as they said to arrive that early to get our face painting completed before the cruise. We got there and they checked us in right away. They have a few accessory packages you can purchase which include pirate swords, bandanas etc. They're reasonably priced between $6-$10. About 15 minutes before the cruise, a pirate came to the entrance and entertained the kids and about 10 minutes later we all boarded. This was their first cruise of 2020 so that was cool. They had a crew of 5 and had fun activities where we are basically trying to find a treasure. I loved the interaction between the crew and my kids. Our ride lasted right at 1 hour and was well worth every penny! Be prepared to get wet and bring a little cash to tip at the end of the ride. read more

Perfect treat for the kids! Big and little a like. Our family went on the Pirate Cruise to escape the strong currents and take a break from being in the water. It was my parents, my aunt, my brother and sister-in-law, my husband, and between us all four kids (3 four year olds and 1 eight year old) -- we covered pretty much every age range. Being on the water was nice - the breeze and the views of the houses along the Intercoastal, but the best part was watching the joy on the faces of our children and their cousins. Our niece (the eight year old) was almost too old for it, almost - she loved getting her face painted and participated in most of the activities with joy. The four year olds were in Pirate heaven, squirting the guns, mopping the deck, and sword fighting. They enjoyed every second. The "show" was great - they actors stayed in their roles and were great at making sure all the kids got to participate. The storyline was fun and the kids loved getting their pieces of gold. I recommend it for a day off the beach - the kiddos will thank you! read more

The cruise was not enjoyable at all. It rained, and it wasn't a sprinkle - it. poured. Everyone was soaked and cold from the downpour, It rained the entire time. They never offered to let people come another day. I really feel that was wrong. It was miserable. In addition, they didnt even have enough water cannons for all the kids so all of them couldn't shoot the water cannons. It was a miserable hour and half soaking boat ride. read more

Good: The kids loved it. Staff was friendly and helpful and stayed in character around the kids. Boat was well maintained and operated very smoothly. The kids had a ton of fun in the participation activities and the time flew by. Bad: At the end of the event, they pressure you in front of your kids to buy a framed picture and some pirate play toys. Okay, fine, I understand you have to make money where you can, but the pirate play set was absolutely the cheapest, crappiest, most worthless Chinese imported garbage I've ever seen. For $10 it was literally a playset you could get at a costume store for a dollar. Everything broke within a few minutes. Also the picture was in a cheap setting and was $20, which was just a ripoff. And no, you can't opt out of taking a picture for them to push at you later. Overall, the kids had fun but felt scuzzy and wasn't a good value. This place was fun for our small children but as an adult observing I was extremely disappointed in this show. The staff didn't seem to be very kid friendly. Some better than others though. There were many little comments from the staff that I didn't like. For what we pay for this adventure I expected more. They gave the kids a 0.50 foam sword for a sword fight. Then they told the parents if they break it we have to buy it. They also threatened the kids throughout with punishments for not obeying rules. I completely understand that they are kids and can be unruly. They may have been trying to be funny about it but it didn't come across that way. Every activity they did they had to stop and explain rules and then tell the kids the punishments for not following them. They had to go to the upper deck and couldn't participate in the games, they couldn't have any treasure, etc. there was no excitement for the kids. They brought the treasure up out of the water and the kids were all so excited. They were dying to see what was in the treasure chest. They never got to see. They were told to stand in a single file line and each child for 3 gold coins. I was so disappointed in the "treasure" and that they didn't make a big enough deal of it for the kids. Very disappointed all around. Next time we will do the other pirate adventure. We did not have a coupon or discount so we paid $25 for each person. We paid $150 for this cruise. Sooooo not worth it. If I had a groupon and paid $50 for everyone it would've been more worth what we paid. read more

I would recommend going... fun for the kids and even adults can participate with water guns and sword fights. A couple tips is there is a bathroom on board. Also they have a covered area for young or elderly people to escape the sun. The captain mentioned being able to bring your own alcohol onboard. Not sure on the rules we did not bring any. They do sell soda and water on board though. The price includes face painting and there is free parking. A warning for those who do sit on the deck and participate is you will get wet!!! read more

I was very disappointed in this cruise. I understand it moved from their previous location to north Myrtle. I'm not sure if the cast has changed. The area that they sail in has a lot of wave runners going by very fast causing a lot of waves and the boat was very bumpy. Not a huge deal, however when my 4 year old was on the bottom deck and I was on the top deck it was a very large deal as he was really scared. The pirate Billy Bones also told the kids in the beginning they were going to throw all of the parents overboard which also scared him. The cast was not very kid friendly and there really wasn't much of a story line and much interaction. I was able to get a Groupon rate when I called of $17/ person. read more

Hey it's the beach and the kids had a blast with Billy Bones and company. The water battles helped with the midday heat. Drinks and snack on board were very reasonable. After the show we were enjoying a drink and running restroom breaks at the dock side bar. The children saw Billy and team leaving and waved. I found it nice that the cast stopped and Billy gave them One last Arghh.... Worth the money. read more

This was such a wonderful experience! The crew were great and the kids all had a blast hunting for treasure and soaking Billy Bones with the water cannons. This adventure was a fantastic way to spend our day with our young kids ages 21 months to 7 1/2 yrs., all girls. The girls were a little hesitant at first about going on this adventure. But once we got there they had an excellent time from getting their faces painted and tattoos to having a water gun fight, sword fighting, using the water canyons, pulling the treasure and dancing. Needless to say this is an action pact event with age appropriate fun activities for the whole family. The staff are wonderful. Caution be prepared to get soaked and bring cash for tip money at the end (apparently the staff only earn tips). I would definitely recommend it to any who has youngins. read more

Highly recommend!! Found a great deal on groupon, $60 for 4 of us. It is really hot on the boat, wear sunscreen and wear clothes that are appropriate for getting wet!! The kids were drenched, wish they wore their swimsuits and brought a change of clothes. We went to dinner afterward and the kids were uncomfortable in their soaking wet clothes. I bought a Groupon for $20 each for my 3 year old grandson, my husband and me. When booking the cruise with the company the attendant was very helpful, he told us to arrive early and gave me detailed directions. Then he sent me a text with step by step instructions for once we arrived at barefoot landing. We had no problems finding it. We arrived at 9 and we were the first ones there. We had an easy check in and waited in the shade for festivities to begin. First there was face painting before boarding. The pirates made sure the kids were happy. We gave another pirate our boarding pass, got a quick picture from the photographer on board and waited for everyone to load on. Once we were underway the kids got to have a water gun fight, sword fight and swab the deck. We also picked a treasure map to follow. The Best part for my grandson was firing the water cannons on the side of the ship. He had a 'blast' literally! At the end the pirates hoisted up the treasure and made sure each kid got some gold. This was a really fun couple of hours for us, even if it was blazing hot! I would recommend it for anyone with kids under 8. Over 8 they seem bored and act like jerks (my opinion only) We bought the pic at the end for $20. It was in a nice frame. We would do this again!!!!!! My kids loved this cruise! The characters were all great with the kids and stayed in character. The kids really enjoyed the story line and the activities kept them entertained for the duration of the cruise. They really enjoyed the sword fight, water gun fight, and spraying pirate billy with the water canons. They were soaked and happy! The ship is very clean and well maintained and the ride is very smooth. There is a covered area up top for adults and infants that doesn't get wet at all. We brought our own pirate costumes (hanker-chief and sword) for the kids and didn't feel pressured at all to purchase theirs. They did take a photo before boarding in front of the ship and after the cruise the photos are put in a plaque and laying out on a table for purchase. I didn't feel pressured to buy at all but we liked so we did. I would highly recommend! read more
