We did the dinner boat cruise yesterday (6/13/24) and what a pleasant surprise. Our subdivision did a bus trip to this river boat cruise and fantastic evening. From the moment leaving our bus to board the paddle boat to the very end when we returned to the dock everything was great. The entire crew and staff were the nicest people they really seemed glad and happy that we were there. The chicken and pork loin buffet was excellent , the bar service was great (not real pricey) and the singer/entertainment was exceptional. You will not be disappointed with this 3 hour cruise. A dinner cruise was the perfect way to end my visit to Mrytle Beach. I cruised on October 11, 2017 on the 4:30 to 6:30 dinner cruise. The boat cruises down the intra coastal water way and it's a very nice cruise. The water is very calm. The crew was OUTSTANDING, friendly, helpful and very accommodating. My mother though she can walk doesn't get around as good as she once did, was in a wheelchair, a man by the name of Mike put her on the boat, and made sure that she was seated at the front of the boat so that she had a good view. They even let us fix our plates first before the called the rest of the guest for dinner. The meal was a buffet, there was a huge tossed salad with ranch and vinaigrette dressings, mashed loaded potatoes with plenty of bacon, green beans with sliced onions, pulled chicken with barbecue sauces to add if you wanted to, pulled barbecue pork with sweet rolls and banana pudding for dessert. The meal was delicious. The music was being played by a one man band/DJ, who was very good, to give himself a break, he would play music from a cd. Though I only had 3 other people dancing with me, we did the Electric Slide, the Cupid Shuffle and the Twist and danced that good meal off!! While cruising down the water way we were given a little history along the way, while viewing some of the beautiful homes along the river. Johnny Depp and Jimmy Buffet both have homes on the water way. If you get the opportunity to take this cruise please do so, this year will be your last chance, they're stopping the cruises because the docking area is being closed. Jimmy Buffet's sister is opening a restaurant and Barefoot Landing doesn't want the boats docked there. I'm hoping that someone else will offer the crew an opportunity to operate elsewhere, it would be a shame to lose this dining experience. We did the dinner cruise. The only reason this is getting 2 stars is the friendliness of the staff. The cruise: you are taking a 2 hour cruise of the Intracoastal Waterway from Barefoot Landing to Grande Dunes. This equals two hours of viewing the back of store fronts and people's backyards. The food was not good. There was a choice of pulled pork BBQ or chicken in some type of gravy. The BBQ looked like it might have been purchased at a grocery store and was warmed up in a microwave. There was some pre-mixed salad that I assume was poured out of a plastic bag. Drinks are extra. The music was okay; basically a lounge singer doing mediocre covers of Jimmy Buffett. If your expectations are low you may be happy with this. If you have any sense of what good food is, stay away....you have been warned. read more

Come expecting your great grandma's food and some "home feel" hospitality. What most people expect for $40 these days is outrageous, and I suspect, the reason for all the bad reviews. I own a boat and know how much it costs to operate including gas and insurance. What they are offering here is really a good deal. My boyfriend and I both loved the pulled pork. The salad had several dressing options. The vanilla pudding was delicious. If you come expecting what you pay for, you will be impressed. This is a fun way to enjoy a dinner on the water! This is a large 3 level boat with adequate air conditioning on 2 levels, the bar is open right when you step foot on the boat (a little pricey) the DJ/ entertainer was amazing and started playing as you stepped on the boat and was also your tour guide. There is a large dance floor for shagging, dancing and line dancing. The food is served buffet style in shifts so there is minimum waiting. The food is is not fancy but very good, chicken and barbecue, green beans and mashed potatoes and includes a salad as well with some amazing dinner roles. You see some nice houses along the way including a couple famous people (I won't spoil it) this is an excellent deal for wait you pay for it! Don't expect fine dining and lush amenities, wear casual clothes and talk to some strangers and enjoy the 2 hour boat ride, well worth it! read more

Very disappointing experience. Upon making the reservation, we were given the dinner minu which sounded appealing. We paid just under $60 per person and it was NOT WORTH IT! "Dinner" was cold and not as advertised....it was more along the line of heavy appetizers instead of "dinner". After expressing my disappointment about the cold food, we were offered 1 free drink each from the bar and when we refused the offer, the First Mate took down my name and number on a napkin and said that someone named "Matt" would call me to comp. the price of the "dinner" (only $10/pp).....4 days later and still no call from "Matt". I went on the 2-hour evening dinner cruise with my family. I actually enjoyed it. The captain was talkative and funny. I think it was a bit too pricy for what we were getting. The buffet had salad, muffins, grilled chicken, string beans, and pulled pork. Not much of a buffet and the sights were pretty but it was mostly houses. On the 1st floor the music was too loud and it was hard to hear anything. The dessert was okay. (Pudding) But overall it was a fun ride. read more

My husband & I met our friends on 5/4 for the Riverboat tour. We had a relaxing good time. It was peaceful who wouldn't dream of having house like the ones we saw on the Coastal Waterway Didn't see any alligators, which was fine for my friend Gayl & I. We usually travel to Myrtle Beach once a year for our summer vacation. We were looking for something new to do so I found this dinner cruise. My wife found some coupons on visitmyrtlebeach.com for $2 off per adult. Well, an adult is anyone over 10 so that was all 5 of us. We tried to enter the coupon to book online and it failed so we booked the next day over the phone. We were told that the coupons were no loner honored even though the dates were still valid. The tickets for the cruise I think were $42 each so the total was $210. I thought it was poor customer service to not honor $10 worth of coupons on a $200 bill. We decided to pass on this. I went with Family on the "Riverboat" (If you can call it that) Cruise for dinner on July 4, 2012, It was terrible. When purchasing the tickets we were instructed to be at the dock for loading at 5:30, the cruise would begin at 6:00. We were there 5:30 as instructed but were made to wait in the sweltering 106 degree heat for 25 minutes before finally being allowed on board, once on board we were told that they needed to switch power from the dock to the generator, that took about 15 minutes more, still in intolerable heat and now amongst the small crowd of people forced into one room. (Not sure why the power switch wasn't taken care of before the paying customers boarded the boat after standing in intolerable heat?) If that wasn't bad enough, we had to sit through a Dollar Store DJ trying to entertain us, with "trying" being the key word. Once called down for the buffet, we were only greeted with someones sad version of store bought Pork, maybe Turkey, BBQ, Instant Mashed Potatoes and Baked Beans. The boat was in need of a through cleaning and some minor repairs. I was not impressed and will not be recommending this to friends or family. Even though we are local, decided to take the cruise down the ICW on a whim. What a nice and relaxing cruise. The narrator needs to update his information as he constantly referred to Steve Spurrier in his speech as the head coach of the Gamecocks when in fact he retied last year. The advertisement of a buffet is misleading. For the price, my family and I were greatly disappointed. There were no choices like you expect when you think "buffet". They served bland chick breast slices, pulled pork, plain mashed potatoes(no gravy), a basket of dry hamburger rolls, canned string beans, and salad. A pitcher of unsweetened tea(yuck)....my kids hated it. Dessert was a joke...a cup of instant vanilla pudding. Anything better to drink besides the tea, you had to pay for at the bar. It was a set up so they could make more money. A long slow boring ride with mellow music...my 9 and 11 yea old were bored out of their minds. We couldn't wait to get off. This was really 2.5 stars. I will round up as we had a 2 for 1 deal. Boat was ok, nice sunny day so we sat on the top deck. As mentioned previously they had an"entertainer" if you can call him that. This was an afternoon sightseeing trip so didn't see the need for the music etc. the other information narration was passable. Boarding was ok except I don't see why if you purchase your tickets ahead of time like we did they can't give you a ticket so you don't have to check in at the ticket booth and then get a ticket to board seems to me this extra step could be easily avoided. Went for an outing for my mothers birthday with my sisters. Felt like a bad wedding reception. Entertainment was one guy singing on an electric piano. Food was terrible for the $40 per head price tag. After enduring the terrible buffet, the dessert for $40 bucks worth was.... Drumroll... Vanilla pudding! Can't give this one star because the staff tried very hard to make this cruise great, but it just wasn't for me. This is geared more towards an older crowd. My boyfriend and I decided to try something different for dinner and thought a riverboat cruise would be fantastic, especially for $40 a person. Unfortunately I think what we were expecting for $40 a person is what you get when you purchase a spirit dinner cruise. The boat was nothing spectacular and seemed a little run down. The dinner was a BBQ buffet with instant mashed potatoes, green bean casserole and bagged salad and boxed vanilla pudding for desert. Like I said not what I was expecting on a riverboat cruise. The plates and cups were plastic and they squished a lot of people into a small space. By the time dinner was over it seemed as though everyone wanted to be done and just get off the boat. If you have children, it is my suggestion that you do not take them on this cruise since there is nothing for them to do. Even the scenery down the waterway isn't fantastic, unless you like to see spectacular houses you can't afford. All in all, very very disappointed with my experience. Missed out on the experience and then treated poorly by the manager. Due to a family illness, we were 1 minute late arriving to the dock and we stood there, refusing to jump, and watch the boat drift away. I even called 25 minutes before departure time to tell the office we would be there right on time. The following business day, I called and spoke to the manager, whom was rude and did nothing but restate their refund policy. I know businesses need a no-refund policy, but is our $230 really going to hurt their business. Especially when we made every effort to be there on time. The manager even hung up the phone on me when I politely stated that I would be writing a review on my full experience. Note to manager, customer experienes last well beyond a boat trip... Even if they don't happen! With so much to do in Myrtle Beach, don't waste your time and money on a company that treats people this way. read more
