Dishonest and deceptive business. Don't trust them with your security deposit, they'll run away with it.

My partner and I recently adopted a dog and went for his first check up. The office was busy with a lot of dogs..one was very aggressive. We were brought into a room by an overworked and overstressed employee and sat there for a while waiting for Dr. Young. The exam was fine. No concerns there. A few weeks later, I called the office to ask a question. They called me back the next day. Totally acceptable turn around time, but prior to them expanding, they would've called back the same day. I recently called the office to ask another question- regarding a medication and increasing the dose. They never returned my call. It's hard for me to recommend this office. I miss the personal touch of a small office where the staff is calm, they know all the animals and their parents, and return phone calls.

SoCal Vet quoted me 1/3 of the price of other Vets in my area- about $700 for a 20lb doggy with poor dental. The price included blood work, x-rays, anesthesia, meds, AND extractions. My pug needed quite a few teefs removed. They clipped her nails free of charge. The Gentlemen (forgive me, I forgot his name) who went over x-rays and cleaned her teeth is great at what he does! I have since taken her back for a dental check, and brought my other pug. Both were sedated and received the full dental treatment. The price has remained the same for each! Dr and Staff are sweet; they are busy, but very kind. Def recommend them.

I visited from out of town to help my family in San Marcos with their recently adopted shepherd mix girl, Skye. She was a stray in an overcrowded/high-kill shelter in Los Angeles, so before coming, we were hoping to meet a very compassionate vet that understands rescue dogs well. We also wanted to meet a vet that wouldn't make us feel rushed with our appointment, which thankfully, Dr. Luna didn't do at all. I look forward to coming here some day with my own dog, Simba, if there were to be a concern with his health while visiting San Marcos. Though the only downside for this practice is that they close on weekends.

First off, I just want to say that this veterinary office is the only place I trust with my dogs…read more I've been coming here for over 5 years, and Dr. Choi has seen my previous family dog, Odie, who has passed away already. I still bring my fur baby here for his care whenever he needs his updated vaccines or a check up. Kayo is not very nice to many strangers, but his staff & Dr. Choi really know how to make him feel comfortable! From cutting his nails to getting his vaccines, he does not seem to flinch or cower compared to other places. I love how friendly the staff are and how great they are around dogs, you can really tell they care for your pets. Recently, Kayo (miniature dachshund) had an incident where he injured his spine and he was suffering from hind leg paralysis. We waited a full night before deciding to bring him but we were really close to bringing him into a rehabilitation center in Escondido. I'm really glad we didn't & decided to get a check-up first at Nordahl Pet Veterinary Animal Hospital after I gave a phone call to make an appointment with Dr. Choi. The staff was seriously so accommodating and knew that this was an emergency, so she squeezed me in as a walk-in appt even though they were fully booked that day. She told me the time I should come and how long we could possibly be waiting. Luckily for us, we were taken back right away and Dr. Choi came in quickly. After the check-up, he made the best possible treatment plan for him without needing to do surgery. He was prescribed two medications - one for pain & one for anti-inflammatory. After about 2-3 days, Kayo was already recovering so quickly with lots of rest and care. After about a week, Dr. Choi used the text portal system to text me Kayo's x-ray results and an updated treatment plan. All of this, without having to pay for another visit was really a relief for my husband and I. We were worried he was going to need surgery or water therapy, but all he needed were the medications and 2 more weeks of rest. Presently, Kayo is about 95% better and is finally walking again! Thank you so much to Dr. Choi & his staff for taking great care of our fur baby. Highly recommend to anyone who really wants to visit a vet with really affordable prices and who actually cares about your pets!

Then at home we noticed at no point Dr. Dodd examined my cat . She listened to my concerns about a fat bump my cat had under his skin and recommended cytology . We left to think about this costly procedure. She also told me I should buy the intelident chews for $16 from her office because the brand she sold was pharmaceutical grade and only could be obtained in her office . I did purchase it. Then at home watching the video clip we saw the entire time she spent with my cat was 6 minutes which mostly I talked . At no point she examined my cat . She didn't touch the body, skeletal, neurological response, she didn't listen to lungs and heart . Didn't use her stereoscope at all. Then I called the office and asked Liz at the front desk to forward me the medical notes . She did . In this record Dr. Dodd noted there was no heart murmur and lungs were clear. Lymph nodes within normal limits and etc. she noted things that she had not examined . I called the office back and told Liz that I was calling to give Dr. Dodd an opportunity to set things right ( didn't ask for a refund ). Hoping for a 2nd visit . Dr. Dodd called me back and said this office wasn't for us and she reimbursed the $80 visit . By the way the inteldent product she sold me for $16 is available on Amazon for $8. In good conscience I felt important to leave this review that maybe this office, not only is not for me but also is not a fit for other cat owners who are looking for a quality care.

I wasn't looking forward to this visit because the last time we were here, we got bad news about our pup that passed away in 2017 :( The facility has expanded quite a bit since our visit here 8 years ago. It seems to be a very efficient operation. They have comfy seating and a coffee, drink, snack counter. After an EKG was done, our pet cardiologist explained in great detail what she saw going on with our Riley dog. Turns out he's ok. The vet says it's part of his aging process and we should keep monitoring it with annual check ups--and I suppose annual EKG's that are kinda of pricey, but worth it to make sure Riley dog is ok. Whew! It's comforting to know vet care like this exists.

After her fluoroscopy and over $10,000 later, they said the solution was upright feedings even though she didn't have ME. I felt hopeless and sad we had not figured it out since she kept getting sick. I told the vet and she kept reiterating upright feedings which was not the solution and wholly unnecessary! Finally, I went to VCA and the vet suggested hydrolyzed protein, what I told the other vet. My dog is now finally doing better now thanks to this place. Don't take your dog here.

The doctors and staff genuinely care about animals and always treat Buck with kindness, patience, and compassion. One of the things we appreciate most is their honesty. It's obvious that their recommendations are based on what's best for Buck, not on running up a bill. That level of integrity is hard to find and means a lot to us. The entire team is professional, knowledgeable, and truly dedicated to the well-being of the animals they care for. Buck actually seems comfortable when he comes in, which says a lot!
