Mr. Biscuits treatment plan. Thank you Saving One Life- San Diego.
    Jen D.

My family adopted a wonderful cat by the name of Mr. Biscuits from Saving One Life - San Diego in March 2020. We filled out an application for adoption online and were contacted soon after. Mr. Biscuit's had a rough start in life. He was born with hind limb deformities and was trapped during a trap neuter return (TNR) session via Feral Cat Coalition (FCC). He was living in an alleyway under an abandoned camper dragging himself out across the alleyway at night for food. Saving One Life San Diego got involved with his care and was determined to find him a forever home as he was definitely not going back to the streets with condition of his back legs and his sweet disposition. They raised the funds for his multiple vet visits and surgeries to ensure he could live his most comfortable and best life. They are all volunteer and have jobs and families outside of saving cat's lives but that doesn't stop them from going above and beyond to care for each and every cat that crosses their path. They don't pass those expenses off to adopters. They ask for the bare minimum for vetting a cat. I cannot say enough about how amazing the people at Saving One Life -San Diego are. They really are passionate about saving lives and pour their hearts and souls into all things cat rescue. They even inspired me to become a volunteer. If you are looking for an amazing feline companion please contact Saving One Life- San Diego they have some wonderful friends waiting for their furever homes.

Taco snuggling with his older brother

Saving One Life is an incredible rescue doing wonderful work here in our San Diego community! I adopted my second cat Taco from them in February 2021 and it was a breeze! They thoroughly vet each cat that goes through their rescue before adoption, so I knew that Taco was healthy, chipped, and had a good idea of his personality when I brought him home. He has helped my older cat deal with some separation anxiety when I returned to work after a year of working from home! I couldn't be more grateful for Saving One Life!

You can tell by how the puppies/dogs respond around her. She is a very honest, sweet, informative doggy foster mom. She provided information from toys, food & extensive doggy tips. She is always responsive by phone and text. Even when I text her late at night, she is always responding! Before the actual adopting day, she would send you pictures of your puppy to keep you updated. Truthfully, she and how Art and paw animal rescue is ran, should be an example of how all the animal rescues should be. I adopted my puppy from a group of 9 puppies and she knew everything about each and every single one of them. One thing I appreciate about her is, she doesn't get motivated by money but rather she truly cares for the dogs and want them to find the perfect home. She really takes the time to find the perfect home for each dog! You will not regret adopting! Also her company is ran from donations so please head onto the website and donate (: Thank you Liraz for the amazing experience.

On last Saturday, we went to Petsmart to get some dog food and cat food. My wife found this lovely dog that she would not leave without her. Art and Paws Animal Rescue went through all the questions about our living environment to make sure the dog was going to a right place, made sure that we were committed, not compulsive and showed us the papers with medical history and everything. Lulu is so happy being with other brothers and a sister and fit right in without hesitation. There are some dog rescues that only concentrate on making dogs adopted but Art and Paws Rescue really care for the dogs and we felt the right thing as dog owners. I already sent them thank you email plus lots of pictures ans will follow up with them continuously. Great job "Art & Paws Animal Rescue" and thank you for letting us having Lulu.

Kids of all ages love this place.. The only thing I dont like about this pet store is that it's always crowded with customers. A bit too much for me but at least dogs and cats are finding loving forever-homes quickly. Is it better to shop at the humane society, a pet store or from Craigslist (people that breed animals in their backyards)? Well all of my pets came from the humane society. But going that route isn't for everyone as there can be challenges with owning pets that have been previously mistreated. It can require more time, love and patience. Unfortunately younger Americans want status and pedigree with their smartphones, Instagram pages, and their "pets". In summation, the pets at Bark Avenue always seem happy, healthy and are treated with dignity. Tip - Watch out for negative reviews from extremists who write 1 star reviews for all pet stores including Petco..

Last week it was just after 10am and we came in to look at the dogs, becuase we are interested in adopting a new puppy. No one was manning the front. NO ONE. The shop was empty and we were the only people on the sales floor. We waited about ten minutes to see if anyone would come out of the back to help us. Nobody showed... Last evening we were back at the mall, and decided to see if the puppy we were keen on was still there. He was. The shop was full of teenaged girls cooing and fawning over the dogs, and I thought surely someone will come out to help us. Nope! We couldn't figure out if any of these girls was actually working there, or if they were all just "mall kids" . Suffice it to say-the French bulldog we are interested in adopting is still there today. I work in retail myself: If I see a well dressed middle aged couple walk into me sales floor full of fawning 16 year olds, I know who I'd give my time and attention to. They lost a very lucrative sale of a French bulldog. We will be calling a reputable breeder today.

Hello, My dog, who is now resting in a better place, and is…read morein other reviews for grooming places etc.... Ava. I believe I should have written Fuzzy Feet Dog Rescue and asked to be a foster mother temporarily instead of jumping the gun. They were helpful when I met them at PetSmart off College in Oceanside, CA on Sunday when they have rerecurring adoption events outside. It is a great starting set up and their accommodations intertwined with PetSmart really made me feel as though I was going off on the right foot with a new puppy pal, who I named Bella. She is approx. 4 months old and she was a stray in Mexico, from what I was told, and I did not take into consideration whether I would be the one to be able to mother my two children and take her to her training because she really is worth it. She is amazing, adorable, LOVING! dog. She wanted my love every single day whether I was stressed or not she managed to do better than I did some days. I really feel as though I let her down by not being able to keep her because I was able to get her to walk around outside without trying to run up inside the Condo right away, which she did try to do for the first few days. Everyone interested in going to the humane society should know there is a difference between a stray dog that is found in North County or San Diego County for a day walking around or two, versus a dog who has had to fend for themselves from such a young and early age. Fuzzy Feet really helps these dogs and I can see that they give them the best they can and that is so much more than most places or a humane society who I can see putting them down because in the past they had put down a dog of mine who was 9 months old that had gotten out for less than 24 hours and they had already quarantined my animal and told me to pay for it or they have to put them down. Rescues like Fuzzy Feet Dog Rescue I really appreciate, and they also are once again like I said, linked with PetSmart in the sense that they will give you tons of coupons for free doggie day care day, free one on one training, free vet exam at participating Banfield, and tons of coupons within the store. My heart was empty after losing my dog of 14 years and I realized this was not the answer, but I do advocate for this rescue and what they are doing. I wish that they will provide seeking dog adopters with medication lists that the dog is on and that way you do not have to find out the hard way in your home that they have worms. lol. Puppys get them a lot and I realize this, granted my dog I had before never had them, but she also was never a starving stray and I know they are doing an excellent job. Here are some pictures of Bella in the car, and in the home just relaxing and being better behaved than my dog was for 14 years in the car, and she was twice as small. I did not want a full refund as it was not part of the contract but that is what they gave me. I appreciate that but I also wanted to donate to them more things I have, and I did not feel as though they were interested. Dogs from Mexico can have anxiety issues and whine for no reason and lead to chewing etc., more so than an average puppy. Bella is worth it if I did not have my work from home and Motherhood, I would have been able to do all the things she needed. She is an amazing, adorable, and a sweetheart and I pray for and her and all the dogs there with FFDR and I hope that they get adopted soon but I can say this dog Bella she responded to her name after a couple days she ate when it was time and then left it and she relaxed in the car. Thank you again FFDR. My only ask or constructive comment(s) would be to please get them tagged (it is also $15.00/fifteen dollars right now for chipping your dog at SDHS) and to take them established to a vet in San Diego County instead of over the border, and make sure that if they are on a deworming schedule I would have liked to know. Also, the paperwork had her beginnings of regular vaccinations except for the Rabies vaccine even though she was from Mexico and a stray and was living with other rescues and to help the adopter not have those fees and be able to take them to training right away without having to worry about the chipping and rabies vaccine. Bella was retreated twice in my home as well as I was concerned about her spaying job since I could not take her to the same vet as the one she was spayed at, I would not have been able to use the PetSmart coupon for free Banfield Exam and establishment of care without having to pay for the Rabies and Chipping later on, but her blue scars from it were raised and worrisome.

Fast forward to 2024, I entertained the idea of somehow welcoming a dog back into my life...I wasn't sure how, but I wanted to get back into the doggy world...and that's when I discovered all different opportunities at the SDCAS.... 1. Dog Day Out- this is a fantastic program to take approved dogs out for the day and market them to the world as being available for adoption. These dogs are sweet, friendly, non-reactive, and just love being out of the shelter. SDCAS gives you everything you need for the day. Our first experience was with Sal- a super friendly pitbull. He loved getting out and proudly wore his 'adopt me' vest! Our second Dog Day Out was with Zane- a beautiful, sweet rottie/husky mix. While we were out with Zane, we decided to foster him. Speaking of fostering.... 2. Foster- if you've ever wanted to foster a dog, this is the place to do it. They provide everything you could possible need. This is a great way to learn more about a dog, post pictures and tidbits about the dog on their website so others learn about them and hopefully adopt them. Fostering saves lives! 3. Adopt- We were a foster fail after a week with Zane. We got to know him SO much and he is absolutely perfect for our family. We wouldn't have known this unless we fostered... Highly recommend SDCAS! 5 stars!

Shes still up on all of the websites and it's very misleading. Then the lady that called me to review my application was very condescending. I am 18 but I've been taking care of dogs my whole life from Shitzus to pitbulls to cattle dogs and i currently have a border collie. we make sure that he is very busy so he doesn't get bored and get destructive but the lady that was talking to me was treating me like I didn't know anything about my dog and his breed even though I was very thorough about how my dogs schedule is. She then told me that because my husband is in the military and that because we're still young we should be fine with the one dog. I come from a military family already, I've done moves with multiple dogs and my siblings and yes it can be hard but I've experienced it before and I tried to explain that but she kept persisting. After that she was talking about how the puppy I was inquiring about was so small and she was worried about my dog injuring it, my dog is the sweetest and he's very polite to other dogs he meets considering his energetic breed (we make sure he is not overly energetic by exercising him and keeping his brain occupied with the frozen Kong treats and deer antlers because he is a big chewer). I am not happy with the service I received and in the future I hope that the lady helped me can fix her attitude when talking to potential customers. I will be looking at other shelters and rescues that will hopefully have better representatives of the business.
