This place was suggested by my parents as worth a visit while in town. First of all, it is currently under construction (as of March 2026), so the parking lot is extremely limited with maybe 6 spots, so we parked at the strip mall across the street along with several other patrons. This isn't really a great idea as there is no crosswalk nearby, so proceed at your own risk. There are also signs designating the parking for the strip mall only. I hope their construction includes more parking! This store is jam packed with clothing, books, houseware items, decor, and more. It was super busy when we visited, so everywhere we turned we were in the way or running into people. It was pretty chaotic but I think they must be expanding since it seems very popular. You can find some high-end items here (according to my parents) so if you're on a hunt for something specific you might have fun looking. I didn't really have anything in mind to look for, but I did end up buying an Athleta tank top for yoga, which was only $10 (they retail for $40-$50). Nate got a Columbia shirt for $10 as well. They have a few changing rooms to try things on, and plenty of employees (volunteers?) helping. Checking out was easy and I was able to pay with a credit card. I don't think I need to stop in every time I'm in town, but I would be curious to visit once their construction is done. read more

If any of the following conditions apply to you, run don't walk to the Bargain Basket: 1/ Need kitchen ware, small appliances, glassware and resort colorful art - don't pay full price when you can get high quality designer name brands that will make your place look marvelous. 2/ You came down to Marco Paradise with only two pairs of shorts - it's ok, visit Bargain basket to add to your clothes inventory or to brighten up your look. Same goes for ladies and men's clothing. Where else can you find a $100+ shirt, gently used for $10? 3/ Books and sheets and tools and gadgets- don't give the box stores your $. Need an alarm clock, table lamp, extension cord, 9 iron? Lastly, don't just give Bargain Basket one chance - visit at least three times - the inventory literally turns over every few hours. As far as this being a community thrift store I find it commendable that it exists and the staff was very nice. However, there is a major problem with parking. If you are lucky enough to get one of the few spaces in the front be careful of customers and trying to pull in and out. . The spaces in the rear can be pretty far from the entrance to the store so prepare to walk. Additionally, the entire men's section is stuffed in a corner of the store. As there were 3 customers standing in very small aisles there was not enough room or time to make a selection unless I was planning to be VERY quick about it. Not having that kind of patience I left without buying. I am told there are renovations afoot. Maybe I will try again when they are completed. read more

We donated a lot of gently used furniture to the thrift shop. There is a very mean and ornery guy who was extremely rude to us and was ungrateful for the pieces of furniture that we donated. Other than him, everybody else was very polite and kind. This is not the type of person that should be working there. He is roughly 80 years old, wiry and skinny with white hair. We did not catch his name, but he's extremely rude and really should not be working in a Christian thrift shop. read more

This seems to be the only charitable thrift store on island. They are busy constantly and understandably so. Inside, they are very clean and organized. All items are clearly marked and tagged. There are signs indicating the various categories of clothing, etc. They have a number of designer handbags and accessories as well as clothing. The designer things are not cheap. The bric a brac, household and kitchen stuff, and the decorative items are where the real bargains are. Prices are quite low and well worth a walk through to explore. This is a good place to visit on a cloudy day or when you're out and about taking a break from the beach. If you're into thrift stores, add this one to your list. read more

The Bargain Basket was established in 1975 and it is the nonprofit arm of the United Church of Marco Island. It is the largest thrift shop on Marco Island. Proceeds from the thrift store supports the charities of the United Church of Marco Island and local and global missions. The Bargain Basket is run by over 100 volunteers and it sells what is donated by the community. Parking is limited out front but they have more parking in the rear of the store. Due to Covid they are limiting the number of people in the store right now but the line to get in wasn't very long. Once inside I was impressed by the size of the store. They had three rooms full of furniture, appliances, household goods, clothing and accessories, craft items, books, and toys. Everything was clean and organized. The prices all seemed very reasonable and I saw some interesting items. This store is definitely worth a stop if you are in the area. read more

My friend who I drag thrifting declared this "the best thrift shop I've ever been to" this morning. Very clean, well organized, nice volunteers (had 3 cashiers; all working), bargain racks w $3 finds. No wonder people were lined up to enter @ 10:00 am! Boutique section; higher end &/or NWT. Then there's the rest of their clean, organized clothing. My British friend scored a wonderful $3 bathing suit that she can't wait to show off @ her condo pool. I found great condition, solid black Larry Levine pants that fit me perfectly for an incredibly low $3! Never hurts to have an extra pair of black in your closet! Very reasonably priced dishes and kitchenware; bet lots were hostess gifts (room to left of entrance) as high quality & lots looked new. Electronics, linens, etc in rear room; you should check it out; men shopping! Jewelry was 50% off for Valentines Day so I got (looked new w original packaging) earrings with matching necklace for $2.50 ! My skeptic friend found sheets for her sofa bed & said we can go back on r next trip to Marco! There's children & Men's section which I didn't check out. DO go around every corner as never know what you will find! Men's and Women's Shoes, purses, jewelry and accessories to the right of the entrance so don't miss it. After reading other Yelp reviews, I decided to pop in and check out the Bargain Basket on a rainy afternoon. There are only about 10 parking spots at the entrance of the store (& that includes one or two spots reserved for handicap parking). I recommend parking across the street and walking over as it is not a busy street and a short walk. I was greeted when I entered the store, and there were a good amount of shoppers already in the store. While it's no fault of the staff there, there was one shopper who talked loudly on her cell phone the entire time she was in the store which I found quite annoying. That's an annoyance anywhere you go. To the right of the entrance are jewelry cases and earring stands, purses, totes, luggage, belts, shoes, and accessories. As you enter the store women's clothing is organized on racks by size and type of clothing pieces near the front. Clothing is fairly limited in general. Men's and children's clothing is in a separate section farther back on the right, and there is an adjoining room where they have household electronics, craft items, children's toys/books, and misc items. In a room located to the left of the entrance you will find an abundance of dishes, dish sets, glasses, tea sets, decor items, framed art, kitchenware, bakeware, and similar items. Prices are a little high on the clothing given the quality and brands of clothing. Much of it was priced just a tad under retail prices, and I could likely find similar items brand new in the stores when on sale for the same price or less. Other items in the store seemed reasonably priced, but there were some accessories/purses/shoes I would not have even put out for purchase due to condition. The staff were all extremely friendly and aside from Miss Chatty on her phone, it was an enjoyable shopping experience. The Bargain Basket is incredibly well-organized and constantly restocked to keep the shelves and racks fresh. The building may look small from the outside but there are multiple rooms, filled with: - Books - Clothes (including some high end boutique items) - Housewares - Holiday Decorations - Furniture - Lamps and TVs - Jewelry and Accessories You really never know what kind of treasures you will find! They have very good prices ($4 for a beautiful painting, $0.50 for a new travel book) and are also always running sales and specials, so you're bound to get a deal. There is a VERY small parking lot in the front of the building, but it's too tight for me. So if you drive around through the alley in the back of the building there is ample additional parking. That's also closer to the donation door for dropping anything off that you'd like to get out of your home. read more

I noticed a lot of things priced very affordable and I saw a lot of traffic coming in and out of the store. No one left empty-handed. I also noticed many cars making donations prior to stopping in and shopping. Very nice thrift store. Not as large as some of the thrift stores in the Naples Fort Myers area but they had a very nice selection. The merchandise all appeared to be almost new or gently used. I would definitely make the drive from Naples again. read more

This is a nice thrift / consignment shop with a good mix of upscale and older / cheaper items. I got a $65 pair of shorts for $12 (most pants and shorts are $3), a nice tie for $1 and a cd for $1.50. I was happy to see that they avoided the frequent thrift store pitfall of overcharging for anything electronic; toaster ovens are $5, vacuums were mostly $10 or less, computer monitors (flatscreen) were $5-20 or so, and in general good deals were available. There are definitely some very expensive items mixed in but you'll have no problem finding deals here. They have extra parking out back if the front lot is full. read more
