Donated items are given to individuals and families in the community in need and profits are distributed through the church charities. To date they have donated more than $1 million to charities that provide human services locally and globally. They have also partnered with 30 local Collier County charities including Neighborhood Health Clinic, Healthcare Network of SW Florida, Meals of Hope, Baby Basics, Echo, Dental Outreach, Grace Place, Literacy Volunteers, and Habitat for Humanity. I was pleasantly surprised to see the store was much larger than I thought it would be from the outside. Several rooms are filled with gently used furniture, a ladies boutique with name brand and designer clothing, accessories, men's clothes, children's clothes, jewelry, art, holiday decorations, books, and more. Prices were great and I loved the selection of like new merchandise. The volunteers were so friendly. Furniture prices are negotiable and they were having an additional sale on select items. Hours are rather limited, they are only open Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 10-3 so it makes it difficult to shop here if you have to work more traditional 9 to 5 weekday work hours. In any case I am glad that I finally got to stop in and support the great work that they do for this community.

I was greeted warmly as soon as I walked in the door. St. Matthews had two large rooms. The first room had furniture, appliances, sports equipment (they had a ton of golf clubs out front), and household goods. The second room was filled with clothing and accessories. Everything is in great condition and set up in inviting displays. St. Matthew's House began in 1987 when a group of Naples church members calling themselves the Homeless Task Force started bringing food to a homeless group living in a nearby wooded area. They started out by gathering food and clothing to help people and today have grown into a large ministry helping thousands of people in the Naples community each year. Operating expenses are covered by their businesses and one hundred percent of public donations goes directly into helping those who need it the most. This ministry takes it's name from bible verse Matthew 25: 35-36, 40 "For I was hungry and you gave Me food; I was thirsty and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger and you took Me in; I was naked and you clothed Me; I was sick and you visited Me; I was in prison and you came to Me. Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me." St Matthew's provides programs to help people transition from homelessness to self sufficiency. The Immokalee Friendship House provides shelter to the homeless and over 25,000 meals a year. Justin's Place Feeding Ministry has been serving meals to the hungry for 25 years and more than 20,000 meals are served each year. Wolfe Apartments offers transitional housing to male clients of the Justin's Place Recovery Program which helps men and women fight drug and alcohol abuse. Programs are funded by proceeds from thrift stores located in Naples, Bonita Springs, Fort Myers, and Immokalee. This is an affluent area of older, retired people who maybe get tired of their things or want a change or have passed away and their items are donated. The operative word is DONATED so the money can be used for the non-profit mission Salvation Army does....BUT what I saw was over priced if not full priced items for sale! Shame on management there...your goal should to be to sell everything that is donated at less then "reasonable" priced 2nd hand, thrift store prices! If it is not sold in 4-6 months you priced it TOO high! You are not a retail store, price it accordingly!! Do the good work people think you are doing thus we donate to you instead of Goodwill!

Name brands from all of the best department and upscale stores: Saks, Nordstrom, Neiman Marcus, Lilly Pulitzer, St. John. There is smaller store in the shopping mall to the east that has a more traditional thrift layout and more run of the mill merchandise. Prices: commensurate with the high dollar value of the items for sale. No real "bargains" here, but you will pay about 50% to 80% less for these items. Case in point, a St. John beaded knit dress for $90 that likely originally retailed for $500 or more. The rich old people of Naples have to kick the bucket some time, and it looks like a lot of their stuff ends up here. This would be a frequent haunt of mine if I lived in the area just for browsing alone! Note: if you look hard enough, you can find some exquisite vintage clothing and a few nice pieces of Danish MCM furniture. And an Enchanted Tiki Room-themed display.

Approximately 25,000 people in Southwest Florida are served by Goodwill Southwest Florida thrift stores every year. I discovered this Goodwill in Egret Crossing on a recent thrifting trip to Naples. The store opened in May of 2021 and it still looks brand new. This Goodwill resembles a Home Goods more than a thrift store. There is so much to explore here starting with the Better Brands section of clothing, a boutique area where you can find name brand clothes. The store is filled with not only donated items but brand new items too. They have a ton of clothing for men, women, and children, accessories, furniture, home goods, toys, small appliances, books, and more, all at discounted prices. Everything is organized by type, color, and size so shopping is a breeze. This is easily the nicest Goodwill I have ever been in.

I am writing to formally report an incident that occurred on Saturday, January 17, 2025, at…read moreapproximately 4:00 PM. While shopping, I observed multiple staff members who were restocking merchandise openly discussing, in front of customers, how they were removing the "good" items from the sales floor to take to the back and set aside in personal piles for one another. This was spoken about loudly and casually, as if it were standard practice. While doing so, these same employees repeatedly stepped directly in front of me and physically pushed past me to access racks I was actively browsing. This occurred multiple times and created an uncomfortable and disrespectful situation. The combination of staff hoarding merchandise for personal use and physically disregarding customers reflects a serious lapse in professionalism and store oversight. Customers should not be displaced or made uncomfortable so that staff can reserve merchandise for themselves. This behavior undermines trust, fairness, and the integrity of the store's operations, and leadership should be made aware.

Some of the brand names I saw included Louis Vuitton, Coach, Kate Spade, Prada, Chanel, and a large selection of Lily Pulitzer. The owner Bonnie was very friendly and she explained to me how the pricing works. Clothing is priced based on how long it is in the shop. A Patricia Nash purse I liked was priced at $129 but if it is still here in December it will sell for $90. If you can't make it to the store in person the Designer Consignor Consignment has an Instagram account you can follow that features some of their best items including that turquoise leather purse. Another adorable bag that caught my eye was beaded to look like a watermelon making it the perfect summer picnic outfit accessory. There is a dressing room area in the back of the store so you can try on clothes. They also sell shoes and other accessories. You can bring in your gentle used and mint designer items to sell for a split of the profits.
