I can't believe this place has been less than 2 miles from me for years, and I never went in. So fun to browse around - the selection is amazing, from well-loved sentimental 'junk' to really high-end decorator pieces. There was some beautiful quality antique furniture - , and the owner (Patty, I think, from reading other reviews) was exceptionally knowledgeable and down to earth, and honestly one of the nicest, sweetest people I've ever met. Nearly all the furniture has a very detailed card which gives the dimensions of the piece, which was so helpful - kept me from buying a gorgeous, quirky piece that I thought would be perfect for my entryway, but a call home to my husband with the measurements proved me wrong as it was an inch too long. I've been re-evaluating every other room in my house, hoping I can find a spot for it, though! Anyway - after a couple of hours of treasure hunting, I left with a small Erie cast iron open kettle and dip pot, with the hanging hook - what a score! Over 100 years old, in need of a thorough season but in great condition, for $15! I will definitely be back. Patty is a spectacular shop-keep - old-school friendliness, knowledge, and pride of service - it's rare to find that these days.

My wife and I built new construction on New Jersey's Long Beach Island. We had an Architect design…read morea new contemporary home with an open concept floorplan combining the kitchen, dining and living area. This design meant that the kitchen had to be the focal point of the home and had to flow with the rest of the living space. I searched online for modern kitchen design ideas using modern cabinet style. After an extensive search for cabinet designs, materials, and colors, we found Showplace Wired Cobalt and decided that was the look, color and functionality we wanted. After looking at examples from Showplace we found on their website, we saw an example of what we wanted to emulate which led us to the designer Diane Fleming at Norfolk Kitchen & Bath in Manchester New Hampshire. I contacted Diane and told her of our project in New Jersey (which was 354 miles away )and I sent her our architectural plans hoping that Diane would take on the presumably impossible task of designing our kitchen directly from the architect's drawings, our appliance measurements and zoom conferences with us. Much to our delight she accepted the challenge and she designed and rendered our kitchen on computer and did everything without once checking out the construction site! It was perfect! She made a trip down to New Jersey when the cabinets were delivered and spent two days with our installers making sure everything fit, every piece ordered was delivered and instructing the installers exactly where and how every piece fit together. She made another trip to New Jersey to make sure all was perfect and ready for staging and pictures. She was amazing! The kitchen is the centerpiece of the home, everyone who sees it is amazed at its construction, utility, and accessibility to everything a home cook needs. Diane designed it as if a chef were to be using the kitchen and that is exactly what we wanted. I cannot recommend Diane and Norfolk Kitchen and Bath more highly. The expertise, professionalism and customer service were and continue to be outstanding and working with Diane was an absolute pleasure.

The inventory was mostly heavily worn clothing, older furniture, and random odds and ends. We spent some time looking around but didn't find a single thing worth buying. The experience itself didn't help. There was a dog barking before we even came through the door. As we walked toward it, the dog was shut in a bathroom, and I overheard a comment suggesting it only reacted after seeing me. Since it had already been barking before I entered, that struck me as an odd and unnecessary thing to say. The front door was left wide open, and while browsing I was bitten by a flying insect inside the store. I ended up with welts afterward. I know bugs can happen anywhere, but it definitely wasn't something I expected while shopping indoors. The store also felt surprisingly loud and cramped. Between the barking dog, conversations carrying throughout the shop, and the tight layout, it wasn't a relaxing place to browse--even though we were the only customers there. What honestly surprised me most was seeing the near-perfect online ratings afterward. Everyone has different tastes, but based on my visit, I just don't understand the hype. I left empty-handed and with bug bites, which isn't exactly the thrift-store experience I was hoping for. I do wish the owners the best, but my visit was disappointing enough that I don't see myself returning.
