I explained that my A/C had stopped cooling, and they charged me $80 for a diagnostic, telling me the A/C compressor had failed and would cost at least $1200 to replace. They also removed all the refrigerant I had paid $90 for and spilled coolant in the engine bay without refilling it -- I had to clean it up and top it off myself. Thankfully, I got a second opinion from Dre Auto Service Inc. -- the mechanic (Mike) came to my house and within minutes diagnosed the real issue: the radiator fan wasn't working. Power was reaching the fan, but it wasn't spinning. He replaced just the fan and the A/C now works perfectly. Total cost: $450, not $1200. This proves Road Runner's diagnosis was not only incorrect, but would have led to unnecessary and expensive work. I'm more disappointed by the ethics -- not the price. I'm sharing this so others know to double-check expensive diagnoses. I have full repair details from Dre Auto Service to back this up .

That included the time for the parts guy to deliver my parts. Has rear stabilizer bar bushings replaced due to excessive play and clunky noise. Past mechanics couldn't diagnose it properly until Lim did it in passing. So I'm impressed. Front stabilizer bar links seized and got those replaced too. This is for a 16 yr old car. Place looks dead now compared to the past. I won't be going back. In the past you could go into the shop area no problem and now they keep you out and have darkened windows in the office area so you can't see in. Had some rear disc brake work done there and he didn't use antiseize on the bolts which later seized up and one bolt broke off and the others needed a torch to loosen. For wheel cleaning they used a disc instead of a wire wheel which is the proper way to do it. Had to go back after the tires leaked air more than when i brought them in. Crap garage and poor customer service skills and this Lou clown claims to be an "engineer".
