It had an ugly view of a retaining wall, drainage gutter, and parking lot. It also had a beautiful tree that was leaning and had a fence awkwardly placed around its trunk. When heavy rains, felled this tree and ripped out the fence, it was time to finally address this disastrous area. I met with owner Jeremy and landscape designer Jason to help reimagine my patio. They addressed my concerns and wishlist and came up with a great design. The work crew, led by Ray, was outstanding. Every one of the guys on the crew, Javier,Chris, Dewey, Juan, Andy, Frank and Rolando were professional, courteous and respectful to us, my neighbors, and mindful of the HOA rules. Their work ethic and work product were outstanding. The old cracked concrete was replaced with beautiful pavers and upgraded drainage. A Hoff Solitions privacy screen with class a fire rated Timber-Tech planks was placed in front of the concrete block retaining wall and is fully removable if needed. I have more functional seating with a garden wall that allows for some plantings and doubles as extra seating. My Zen boulder fountain was set in ground with accent lighting. A covered pergola was added to define a nice outdoor seating area. A beautiful and functional barbecue surround was built to create a built-in look for my barbecue cart and the surround also provides privacy from the parking area.Landscaping and irrigation were also added along my fence. Because of the increased functionality of the space, it feels larger. My back patio is so much more enjoyable and charming now and I couldn't be any happier with the final outcome. These pictures really do not do justice to this beautiful space. Scarlett's Landscaping may not be the least expensive, but they provided great communication, work ethic, workmanship, management of details such as all permits and inspections, follow-up post completion, and most of all, peace of mind that my project was in the right hands. He's responsive over text, which we appreciated. He wasn't on site most days himself, but his crew did solid work and were friendly guys. They happened to be working through a heat wave, and it was grueling, but they always seemed to be in great spirits. The project did take longer than expected, and we had to follow up and check in at times to keep things moving. They're clearly in demand. He was responsive early on but as of late, he leaves messages read and I am 3 weeks past "Hi I'll get back at you latest monday". However when he did do one lawn maintenance session it was done well, the price was higher than what I would've normally paid for regular maintenance, but for a one off job it was adequate.

We had gotten 3 other contractors to come out to bid on it. One never called back, the other one took 10 days to send an estimate and the other showed up but was very rude. Jose sent a quote the morning after they took a look and the quote was right in line with the other contractors. Most important is the quality of the work. They took a rough drawing I had turned it into a small work of art. A nice short planter with a rock riverbed and some beautiful succulents. Could not be happier and the neighbors all love it. This was a large job as he had to be sure the soil was level, install sprinkler system and create the design. The yards turned out be be perfect. We initially found him on Yelp in January 2020 and contacted him because he was a "one stop shop" for what we needed, as well as his excellent reviews. We had him extend and widen an existing concrete patio slab and continue the slab along our side walkway. The job required removing the stump of a huge eucalyptus tree, digging up a mature plum tree, a lot of hedges and a lot of wired netting laid by the previous owner. He also relocated our back sprinklers and installed a timer. He and his crew were quick and did a great job. We now enjoy spending time outside on our extended patio. Because Isai also does irrigation work and we were very happy with what he did for us previously, Isai was our first call when we needed work to fix a flooding problem in our front side yard caused by rainwater overflow from a neighbor's roof gutter. Like last time, he responded right away. His assessment of the issue confirmed what we thought needed to be done. He and his crew started the work on a Monday and they finished Tuesday afternoon! The work involved unclogging an existing underground drain to the street and installing a new one connecting the gutter to the street drain. It required removing/replacing a portion of concrete, removal of mature hedges and a mature Pygmy palm. At our request, Isai saved the tree and replanted it in another location of our front yard. It's Wednesday and so far shows no sign of shock. Isai and his crew also connected our own roof gutters to the underground drain to the street. We now have peace of mind from the next rain (when it comes)! Give Isai a call for your landscaping projects.
