Scarlett's Landscaping did a great job on my back patio. Living in a condo, I have a small patio area that lacked privacy, functionality and character. It had an ugly view of a retaining wall, drainage gutter, and parking lot. It also had a beautiful tree that was leaning and had a fence awkwardly placed around its trunk. When heavy rains, felled this tree and ripped out the fence, it was time to finally address this disastrous area. I met with owner Jeremy and landscape designer Jason to help reimagine my patio. They addressed my concerns and wishlist and came up with a great design. The work crew, led by Ray, was outstanding. Every one of the guys on the crew, Javier,Chris, Dewey, Juan, Andy, Frank and Rolando were professional, courteous and respectful to us, my neighbors, and mindful of the HOA rules. Their work ethic and work product were outstanding. The old cracked concrete was replaced with beautiful pavers and upgraded drainage. A Hoff Solitions privacy screen with class a fire rated Timber-Tech planks was placed in front of the concrete block retaining wall and is fully removable if needed. I have more functional seating with a garden wall that allows for some plantings and doubles as extra seating. My Zen boulder fountain was set in ground with accent lighting. A covered pergola was added to define a nice outdoor seating area. A beautiful and functional barbecue surround was built to create a built-in look for my barbecue cart and the surround also provides privacy from the parking area.Landscaping and irrigation were also added along my fence. Because of the increased functionality of the space, it feels larger. My back patio is so much more enjoyable and charming now and I couldn't be any happier with the final outcome. These pictures really do not do justice to this beautiful space. Scarlett's Landscaping may not be the least expensive, but they provided great communication, work ethic, workmanship, management of details such as all permits and inspections, follow-up post completion, and most of all, peace of mind that my project was in the right hands. We contracted with Scarlett's Landscaping Inc. to design and renovate the majority of our landscape. After a recent house addition and 3 days of torrential rains, we had a mess on our hands. The rains painfully pointed out our lack of sufficient drainage, which became a significant focus. The design was heavy on drainage, irrigation and hardscape but my love of gardening was also accommodated with placement of a raised bed and various fruit and ornamental trees. The Scarlett's crew was excellent. They arrived on time and worked hard every day. They were respectful, courteous and easy to engage with. The amount of work done was awe inspiring and commensurate with the quote offering an accurate value for the cost. We are delighted with the final results. They clearly met our expectations and we will enjoy watching our landscape mature and our vegetables and trees produce. I've been looking forward to posting my review for the work Jeremy's team did at our house recently. It's almost all done (just need the spa to arrive and get hooked up), and everything turned out great! It was a big job (at least for us), and went very smoothly. Two months of on-site work, including a new driveway, plants in the front and back, sprinkler systems, lighting, steps, and a fancy bbq area. Professional and detailed. I didn't want the "same 'ol" that you see everywhere and when I discussed the details with Chris, the designer, he totally know what I was going for and made it happen. The team that did the work were very professional and detail oriented, they didn't miss or overlook a single step and as a result I got what I wanted, a precisely executed job. The entire team was easy to work with and I had no problem communicating my desred and the changes that I inevitably made along the way. Had a perfect experience with Chris. Was experiencing multiple problems with my front and back yard sprinklers. Some lacking adequate pressure and another simply spraying water up into the air as a solid, thick stream of water. I was impressed with the professional skills that he exhibited and he clearly is a hard working, no nonsense fellow who takes pride in the quality of his work. I was well satisfied with customer service skills/attitude as well as the quality of his work. He did a great job and satisfied my needs. We hired Scarlett's to do a major overhaul of our large corner lot home that included demo'ing old patios and fences, lawn removal, regrading slopes, new patios, irrigation and drainage, installing fountains, building a new privacy fence, plantings, and more. I'm so extremely happy that we chose this company. This was our first big investment in a home remodeling type of project, and they did a great job leading us through the process from design to execution. We had some big, perhaps unconventional, ideas about what we wanted at first, and kept expanding our ideas - but they were great at presenting the solution between what we had in mind and what was practical. The crew that worked here everyday was easy to communicate with and did a stellar job executing what was on paper. Many thanks to David the foreman, who put up with all my questions, big and small! The follow-up warranty service has also been great, and we've only had minor irrigation items to adjust and they've been taken care of promptly. We get daily compliments about our yard from people walking by. We also have a friend who is a very OCD engineer say that this is some of the best landscaping work he's seen. Scarlett's was more expensive than than some other options we had considered hiring, but I can say in my opinion that they were worth it and you get what you pay for! read more

They invoiced us a $220 consulting fee just for showing up and listening to what we wanted. The guy they sent did not provide any consulting, notes, or estimate to us. He didn't even measure the yard. This 'consulting fee' was not disclosed before. Even if it had been disclosed, what would the fee be for? Nothing was delivered to the customer. He didn't even share his scribbled down notes. He didn't tell us anything new that would be considered consulting. He clarified that if we paid $750 for a plan, then we would get estimates. However, the plan would only be ours to keep if went ahead hiring them and paid another $750 for a finalized plan (so $1500 for a plan you own). Sorry, but I don't hire somebody who wants $750 before an estimate is even created and basically leaves us at their mercy for results. Further, after we complained that the $220 consulting fee was not disclosed beforehand he said ''dont' worry about it". Yet the same afternoon we received and invoice. Apparently with them it's $220 for nothing and $750 for estimates. Where this is coming from became apparent when I contacted the owner: he rephrased Marxist labor value theory: basically I owe him just for his guy showing up, whether or not any value was provided. It got worse, he disputed my online review of his service. When he sent the invoice he ASKED for customer review, providing a specific site. I gave my review on that site and was subsequently informed that the review had been 'challenged' by Scarlett's. I needed to provide proof of payment. I sent them the invoice, but that was not good enough for that particular review company, they rejected my review. Funny enough, pretty much all the reviews they published are glowing 5 star reviews (https://www.customerlobby.com/reviews/17259/scarlett-s-landscape). On Angie's List on the other hand, his company had only a single A, along with B, C, and D ratings. Scarlett's called the D reviewer 'vindictive' for her point of view (https://member.angieslist.com/member/store/10733884). Wow what a horrible company! We called them for an estimate for a landscaping project in our back yard. When the guy showed up he had absolutely no idea of what we were saying we wanted. It was obvious that he had the same solution for all clients. We are gardeners and did not want to put up 4x4 redwood poles and staple gun green fabric to them. The free estimate turned into a statement that the "office should have informed us that there is a $75.00 charge for all estimates". We paid and received an estimate that was four times as expensive as all other companies that we contacted. An expensive and dishonest company. read more

Our install team (Frank and Javier) was fantastic! Always explained what was being done, always took time to answer questions and to tweak things as necessary. Everyone from Scarlett's was professional, easy to work with and did great work. I wanted a comprehensive landscape plan that I could implement in phases. I ended up with a Ocean Friendly, low maintenance landscape and drainage system with drought tolerant and native plants. And I have a plant plan that I can add to over time. read more

When we wanted to completely re-do our 1/2 acre backyard we immediately engaged Jeremy and his team to design and install our dream yard. We inherited a yard which was largely dominated by 60 dying avocado trees in rows terraced down the backside of a canyon. Through a lot of creative planning and even more hard work, Scarlett's transformed our yard into the 21st century. This was not a simple or easy project and took over a year to complete. It involved the removal of the existing trees, construction of a 90+ foot retaining wall, literally moving half a mountain to level off the middle part of our yard, constructing a sport-court and installing artificial turf for our kids to enjoy, building two decks overlooking the canyon and installing completely new landscaping and irrigation for the remaining part of the yard. What we accomplished is a modern look, ten times more room for the kids to play, the restoration of the bottom third of our canyon to it natural state and landscaping that requires a fraction of the water use versus the avocado trees. Jeremy and his team were always professional, reliable, extremely nice--like family really. They are very persistent and helpful with the city planning and permitting process and very patient with a couple select neighbors who on occasion wanted to provide unsolicited input and/or opinion. We have a couple of other projects we plan on doing in the next few months and will not even consider another landscaper--we have found our team! read more
