We have had our 2 year old German Shepherd female "Jodi" to the Pet Parlor Rockwood three times now. Jodi is a West German, long hair pup who can be, at times, a handful. However, I can testify, these ladies are GOOD. Michele and her crew are wonderful groomers and caring ladies. I could go on and on about them, but let it suffice, I am very particular about my dogs, so if I say they are good, you can take that to the bank. The store is never chaotic when I have dropped him off or picked him up. Sometimes the little ones like to gang up on Copper so he may be in a cage when I get there, but that is what I expect a responsible groomer to do, keep all dogs safe while in her care, and she absolutely does that. I called ahead to see if they'd take sensitive dogs and was met with a determined "absolutely!" Because they were busy, they warned that I may want to come in a bit later, which I appreciated. When I got there they were still relatively busy, so they brought their tools to the lobby. One woman held Juno's body in a tight hug while I got to pet her face to keep her calm. They used the dremmel nail grinder on her and they trimmed in less than 5 minutes, and Juno didn't even know! I love how accommodating they were for my dog and myself! For only $8 (bigger dog price) it was worth every penny! I've had problems with the big chain pet stores either trimming too close, and they don't allow owners back with their pet which makes me uneasy. But not Sheri's! I will definitely be back!

Neither location was convenient for me, but the service is so outstanding that I would follow them anywhere! First off, the groomers who work here are very gentle with my dog. They are aware that she is fragile and yet strong willed. They treat her with love and report any medical concerns they observe. I have peace of mind in dropping her off. They are also aware that I don't want to have her there longer than needed (because grooming is inherently stressful) and they communicate with me so that I'm aware of how busy they are on a given day so I can decide to bring my dog in earlier or later. It appears that Clarissa is in charge of overall management. She and all of the groomers are wonderful! Second, they do a great job of grooming my dog and always ask if I want them to do anything differently each time. I couldn't be happier with this business and highly recommend it. By the way, there is easy parking behind the building.

When I went in to pick him up, I asked how he was they said he was a hand full and they had to use two groomers on him so they would have to charge me more. This was a last minute thing and my dog was frightened from the start, but I was desperate and he was due for a nail clipping! Well, one nail was clipped to short and bled for over an hour, a trip to the vet because after trying sugar, cornstarch, clotting spray from the hospital, nothing worked! He had to be sedated, and was in so much pain coming out of sedation, I've never heard him scream so loud. It really broke mine and my boyfriends hearts. Although she did pay the vet bill, I'd honestly say I'll never go back...

The poor dog was butchered, leaving her hair uneven and her paws looking awful as well. I have pictures to prove this. Her hair was shaved down to her skin in certain areas, as well as a spot above her eye. When we did further inspection, we realized she wasn't even bathed. Her ear was dirty as well as something was still crusted in the fur on her tail. Normally when a dog gets a bath, they smell clean. There was absolutely nothing when smelling her. I called to address my concerns. I was informed by the owner that the person who did the cut, has only been cutting hair for 2 months and the 2 people that supposedly bathed her were in training. She said I could bring Emma back as a teaching moment. So I rescheduled. However, the more I thought about it, the less I wanted her there. She would be there again, all day. When I spoke with the owner again during an appt confirmation, I asked if she could just get the areas fixed that were choppy because I didn't want her there all day and I would bathe her myself. Well that seemed to have angered the owner because she immediately snapped and said she has to be bathed first. She doesn't want a dirty dog ruining her clippers, and saying she's probably muddy and dirty. Firstly, she wasn't clean because she was NEVER bathed at the initial appt. Second, she doesn't run through the mud. Our yard is full of grass and she's taken out on a leash. The owner was rude and unreasonable. I wasn't asking for anything extra, just for the dog to be fixed. Especially since I left a very generous tip to begin with on an awful experience. I cancelled the teachable moment because I wouldn't put Emma through that experience again nor do I want to deal with the rude owner ever again!!!
