Our golden doodle experienced some trauma with a previous groomer and we needed to find a groomer who could ease her anxiety. I'm so thankful we called Bark Avenue! They did a phenomenal job and never once referred to my dog as "hostile". Midge looks absolutely amazing, feels so much better and even gave her new groomer a kiss before we left! We have been taking my dog here for years!!! Michelle is absolutely awesome with my puppy!!! She is very loving with my dog. My puppy has skin allergies and she has made sure that she uses medicated shampoo and even hot oil treatments. My dog is getting older and she has made so many concessions to make it easier on her. I have always had excellent results with both of my dogs at Bark Avenue. One is an Old English Sheepdog and one is a German Shepherd/Cocker Spaniel/Papillon mix. The owner/head groomer has been kind and gentle with both of my beloved pets. She knows them well and they trust her. I used to take them to a different groomer, but became disenchanted with this other facility due to some less than admirable traits. I have been taking my dogs to Bark Avenue now for about 3 years and have been highly pleased. Upon my recommendation, I have a good friend that now takes her dog to Bark Avenue for grooming. She, too, is extremely pleased with the grooming that Bark Avenue has done on her little Bichon. After trying Bark Avenue a couple of times, she tried a groomer closer to her home and they did such a poor job on her Bichon that she now only takes her dog to Bark Avenue. I highly recommend Bark Avenue Grooming and Bowtique and although I have read one poor review, which I found quite surprising, I am confident that the incident reported is not "the norm" for this groomer in any way. read more

We took our two dogs in for a bath and groom. First off, they could not give us a price. Okay... we left them for the day and figured it'd be about the same as the other groomers we've tried in the area. Went to pick them up and was told cash or check only, and it was the highest price I've ever paid for my dogs to be groomed. Ever. Then, after the chaos of picking up two dogs, with cats roaming freely in the reception area, I finally got to see my dogs haircuts at home. Sooooooo uneven and poorly executed. What a disappointment. The cocker spaniel had a skirt that varied from 1/2" to an inch with long missed sections throughout and untrimmed ears while the Wheaton terrier was just a jagged mess. Also, the Wheaton had a nice big nick in her ear. We will NEVER bring our dogs here again. read more

I took my 14 week old bernedoodle puppy there today! The staff was extremely friendly and you could tell they honestly cared about the animals. They have a few cats that live there, which Shows they care about animals even more. The owner was enthusiastic when I called to schedule my appointment and when I showed up she even remembered my puppies name. Small things like that go a long way to me. I picked my puppy up and she was well groomed and had bows in her hair! I am confident bark avenue will take extra good care of anyone's pets! These people love their jobs and it shows! After an uncomfortable experience at another groomer I tried this shop and will not go anywhere else now. They were so friendly and patient with me and my puppy. I called to get an appointment and they did not answer but I left a message. They soon called back and were able to see my dog within a day or two. They took time to listen to me and asked a lot of questions about how we wanted our dog groomed. When I picked him up he was so handsome and happy and groomed just as we discussed. I highly recommend this groomer for any breed or size of dog. read more

My mother took her dog to this groomer - they sliced its ear into a bloody mess. When she talked to them about the vet bill she was informed that she would have to go to the person that actually did the grooming as they were a independent contractor working for them and not a company employee. The dog was taken to Bark Avenue - they didn't take the dog to this other person - they are just who this company assigned to the task - not my mothers problem. They then agreed to pay the vet bills - which totaled over $800 - we sent them the bill - no response - we would call from time to time and would be asked to send the bill again and they'd get it paid - no response. We went to the attorney general, they sent letters to investigate but could not get a response and closed the case stating that they couldn't do anything if the other company wouldn't respond in such a case. The dog was in awful pain, forced to wear a cone while the shreds of his ear healed and from there on out would have issues with that ear. The vet bill was just a portion of the pain and suffering and inconvenience their neglect caused. The further insult to injury and lies that followed only made the situation worse. I would not take a live animal there - they are best suited for taxidermy. read more
