The first time I brought my pet to this place, everything was great. He was well taken care of and looked beautiful. I was very happy because I could see that my dog was treated with care. The second time I took him, they couldn't groom him because he became tense and nervous. He didn't want to be shaved and would whine or growl whenever they touched his paws. They told me it would be best to give him some type of medication so he could relax and be groomed more calmly. I agreed, and they scheduled an appointment for one week later. A week later, I returned with my dog already medicated--he was very relaxed and ready to be groomed--and then they told me no, they couldn't groom him because he needed to be practically asleep to be groomed. That was never mentioned to me before. I was only told he needed medication to relax. At no point did they say the dog had to be sedated or nearly asleep in order to be accepted. My dog is not aggressive or violent in any way. He simply gets tense when they try to shave him, and for that reason, I gave him medication prescribed by his veterinarian. What bothers me is that they never clearly said he had to be nearly asleep in order to be groomed. I find it disrespectful because it's something they should've told me from the beginning--not after waiting an entire week, just to show up and have them reject my dog at the door as if he were the most aggressive dog in the world. That's my complaint. I think it was disrespectful and honestly very uncomfortable. I feel it was disrespectful both to me and to my dog, because we were turned away at the door when they could've communicated that requirement much earlier. read more

This is the only place where I will currently board my beloved fur baby when I cannot find an in-home sitter. I have tried using several other boarding facilities which happened to be located closer to my home and have toured each. Pet Station is by far at the top of my list with regard to being more comfortable and accommodating with my schedule for drop off and pick up. We typically pay the extra $5 daily for our dog to have a "sniff walk" during extended stays and there are menu items to choose if an owner wants to have even further personalized attention for their pet. A daily picture is also sent, which is nice to assist with monitoring pet status. Grooming options are also available during our pet's stay, which we have used once just prior to a pickup and were satisfied. I encourage interested pet owners to tour the facility well in advance of a potential boarding reservation to ensure their pet's comfort and happiness. read more

They have a ridiculous policy that requires a full day evaluation for your dog if they don't come in every 60 days. As a returning customer who's pet has been in for several years for boarding, daycare, grooming, and training, they wouldn't let me book a staycation with day play because it had been 63 days since he was last in for daycare although he had been in for training and grooming. Because it was over 60 days they had no flexibility and required me to come in for a full day evaluation before being allowed to book. I took my 1 year old Golden Retriever to the Pet Station on Lyndon Lane for an evaluation (as required prior to being allowed to attend their doggy daycare). She is definitely more reserved and it takes her a while to get comfortable in new situations. We dropped her off at 8am and were told to pick her up between 4-6. The cost of the evaluation is the same as a full day of daycare, $37. I got a voicemail at 12:20 that daycare "wasn't her jam" and that they took her to an individual space and I could pick her up anytime since the evaluation was complete. I was instructed to call back so they could go over the evaluation in detail. They were very thorough in going over everything and talked about how sweet she was and how she did well until all 15 dogs were in the room. At that time, she just chose to lay at the staff's feet and didn't initiate or engage in any play with the other dogs. I kept waiting for them to tell me that she demonstrated some sort of mean or aggressive behavior to the other dogs but they said she was just "indifferent", very sweet but didn't feel like playing. I feel that if she goes to lay down or sits on the sidelines, this is appropriate when she's getting used to a new setting or possibly she was just tired? They even said she didn't demonstrate any signs of stress except a brief moment of "panting". She plays at Petsmart in large groups and has never had any issues. Our reason for bringing her here for the evaluation was simply because it is much closer to our home and appeared to have positive reviews. For them to make a decision after 4 hours that she's not a good fit, in the absence of any mean and aggressive behaviors, to me seems like an incomplete and inaccurate assessment. That said, the staff seems kind and the facility looks very impressive. I think it is probably a decent place to leave your dog, if yours is one of the ones that fits the personality they are looking for. Unfortunately, with the numerous positive reviews, I expected much more than I feel we received. So I picked her up early, paid for a full day of play despite the fact she was put away in an individual spot after 4 hours, and was then told she wasn't right for the facility. Very disappointing. I wasn't going to leave a review but after receiving a text "inviting" me to leave a review, I obliged. The whole experience leaves me questioning how much these people actually know about dogs, as their interpretation of the observations gathered during the "evaluation" process are very clearly invalid. read more

Do you love your pet? Consider finding a pet sitter or asking a friend to watch your furry friend because even what seems to be the most expensive lodging in town is neglectful. I first took my 5 month old Frenchie, River, to Pet Station about a month ago while I was away for a weekend. I paid for the "Luxury Lounge", which is the most expensive option on the menu at a little over $70/night. I did this after reading many good reviews about this boarder and thinking how nice it would be for my girl to not be cooped up in a cage all weekend. The description promised a living room-like setting where the pups would be in a communal room where they could play all day, go outside whenever they needed to, and would have 24/7 supervision by a staff member. I called and spoke to staff who were super friendly and I was excited to give River the Royal Treatment while I was out of town. She went for two nights and when I picked her up she had a pretty nasty ear infection. No big deal, these things happen at kennels, especially considering River was in an open area with lots of other strange dogs. Fast forward to yesterday. I again needed to put River in the kennel, but this time just for a night. I figured I'd put her in the luxury lounge again to play for the night. I dropped River off on Saturday 10/17 in the morning, a happy pup ready to play. I picked her up on Sunday 10/18 around noon and she was a completely different dog. We had about a 30 minute drive home and Riv slept the whole way. This isn't unusual, I know dogs tend to be pretty tired and lethargic post-boarding. When I arrived home and parked, I tried waking River up and she was like a bag of bones in my lap. She didn't want to open her eyes or get out of the car on her own. Still, I thought, she's just had a long night in an unusual place, probably fatigued and having some stress. I carried her inside and began noticing problems. There was a large raw-looking pink circle on her stomach. I noticed the same type of condition on the underside of her leg as well. First thought is that it's no big deal, another funk brought home from being with other dogs. Then I noticed the front of her face had been scratched and cut so I began looking her whole body over. She had another small chunk of skin/hair missing on her side and several other spots where her skin was peeling that I couldn't tell if it was from a rash or from being in a scuffle. I was really alarmed because no one mentioned any issues to me when I picked her up that morning. I called the pet station and the woman who answered the phone sounded very concerned and put me on hold to talk to the "boarding team". When someone came back to the phone, a manager I believe, this person did not seem to be concerned for one second. I was given a very half-hearted apology and told that one of the dogs grabbed River by the face because River was playing too rough but they didn't feel it warranted reporting. He went on to say the goal is to be "transparent" and he would check with the night shift staff for any other information. I expressed my concern that no one saw the condition River was in before being handed back to me and that I paid for their service because she was supposed to have 24/7 supervision. It felt like their response was weak and lacked sincerity. The manager asked me to text photos of River and he would call me back with more information. I texted the photos and received no reply that the photos were even received. Still not sure if they looked at them because I never got a call back and I doubt I will. I called our on-call vet who said while her condition didn't seem to be severe enough for the ER, I need to get her into the vet ASAP. I've been monitoring River all day and she is not herself. When she finally woke up and walked over to her water bowl for a drink, she started heaving and threw up a foam-like substance. She stumbled, lost balance, and laid on the floor before vomiting more foam. The fact that she vomited foam makes me wonder if she had even been fed that morning as there didn't seem to be any food in her system and she hadn't used the potty since being home. She finally got the strength up to drink some water and I fed her small amounts of food over the next hour to make sure she didn't upset her stomach more. River is in rough shape after spending roughly 24 hours in this hell hole and I will never subject her to that kind of treatment again. I feel terrible to think my dog was suffering all night away from me and I had no idea that the Pet Station cared about nothing more than their $70 to neglect my dog. I fully acknowledge that River can be rough at times when she's playing because she is still a puppy and gets rowdy. I also understand not all dogs respond to that well. What I don't understand is the total lack of communication and concern on the staff's part. A simple heads up when before I drove away would have been much appreciated. read more

My dog had never boarded anywhere until here. He is an adult dog who has never been away from us all night. When we moved to the city and went for vacation we had to leave him with someone we trusted. We looked into this place hard and found nothing but positives. They care so much for your dog. They can customize the room, the feeding schedule, activities, medication administration, and anything else you could think of. He's a high energy husky with anxiety. He loves this place. He's boarded three times with them and one time he even whimpered as we pulled away. They send daily pics so you know how they're doing. I can't imagine taking my baby anywhere else. I feel he is safe with them. Also he recently went while shedding for fall and they accommodated him wonderfully by doing some grooming. Made a reservation over the phone for grooming, was told they didn't have a grooming schedule and we would have to reserve boarding for the entire day, but we could drop the dogs off and pick them up in four hours and that they would be bathed and nails clipped. At drop off I was told that we were signed up for one day boarding and that they wouldn't guarantee that they would be groomed by noon when I had to pick them up for a Vet appointment. Girl at front desk would not honor the appointment and was not interested in customer service, said nothing she could do but would try to get us rescheduled for later in the week, that wouldn't work and I left. My wife called and explained what she was told and the same girl who I spoke with, said she would not talk to her unless she used a calm voice...well her inability to attempt to solve the problem has forced us to decide not to ever use Pet Station for our pet boarding or grooming in the future! Edit: My initial boarding experience here was great; however, these are our pets and one bad mistake by staff is crucial. This weekend, I boarded my two dogs and picked them up Monday afternoon. 24 hrs later, my 9 month old puppy threw up a significant amount of stuffing. I called Pet Station and they confirmed that he had eaten part of his bedding Sunday morning. My issue was not that he ate his bed - things happen with dogs; what they failed to do was call me immediately or at the very least inform me upon pickup. I ended up having to spend $1300 on an emergency vet visit and overnight stay to treat a bowel obstruction. Thankfully, he did not need surgery, but it states in the contract signed that staff is obligated to call owners if anything happens and they did not. They did refund me for the boarding stay, but I still feel obligated to share my experience since there are so many outstanding reviews. These places are supposed to keep our babies safe and they failed to do that for my dog. --- Previous post: Boarding my two dogs for the first time made me extremely nervous, but the staff here went above and beyond to ensure my pups were safe and happy. I've never been comfortable with dropping my dog off anywhere, but I trust this place! Our dog attends Daycation weekly and uses the boarding amenities as needed. The longest we've boarded our dog is 3 nights, but we knew he was safe and having fun the entire time. I love that there are options to add on (for example: extra play time or peanut butter filled Kong toys.) The staff is very helpful and willing to answer any questions I have, as well as letting me know what schedule my dog will be on while he's there, which comforts me. We've been boarding our dog Truman here and simply will not take him anywhere else. The staff go above and beyond to take care of him and have earned our trust. Truman's a rescue so he needs some extra TLC and adjusting to new people. Pet Station has continued to impress us while making sure he's happy, healthy and safe. We had been faithful patrons for about two years ago, but the quality has gone down. Two out of the last 3 visits were bad cuts. They completely ignored our request for certain areas to not be cut. Yesterday, they shaved our dog to the shortest he has ever been! A wheaten terrier shouldnt be less than an inch. Our dog looks like hes getting over the mange! When we took him, he had at least two inches! We know he had a couple of knots, but the groomers took the easy way out and completely shaved him. Plus, it is about $70, which is pretty expensive for them to not do even a decent job. Will not be using ever again! read more

The Pet Station steals your deposit. I would not recommend boarding your pet at The Pet Station. I have two deposits that they never refunded me and have given me every excuse for not giving me my $100.00 back. No where on the receipt does it say that you have a year to use the deposit and when I called during COVID to cancel a boarding reservation I was told to keep the deposit there and was not notified that I had a year to use it and when I boarded June of 2021 they never gave me my $50.00 deposit toward the boarding. In May of 2022 I put a deposit for a boarding that was then cancelled and again they urged me to keep the deposit at their facility and again I was never told it expired in a year nor did the receipt I received say that the deposit expires. Stay as far away as you can from The Pet Station. They will do all they can to make sure you are not aware of the policy and keep your money. I will certainly never board a pet there again and I would urge you to do the same. read more

I'm so happy that we found this facility! Winnie is our 13 year old Lab and she appears to have had the time of her life staying at The Pet Station Country Club. Winnie has some special needs around feeding and unlike many places we were not charged extra for medication and special supplements! We did pay a small fee to add on a one to one playtime although she would've done just fine with the 5 potty breaks built in to her stay. Winnie has also been groomed here and they did a fantastic job! She suffers from some anxiety and the staff paid attention to that, giving her breaks as needed and making her feel comfortable! I read the glowing reviews and thought this place would be perfect for my little nine pound miniature dachshund. I work from home and wanted my pup to have time around other dogs for socialization. I called their phone number and was told I would have to do everything online. No one would give me any information over the phone. I had to fill out forms that included giving them my credit card number and I hadn't even seen the facility. Then they contacted via email to set up an "evaluation" to see if I am worthy of giving them my money. At least that's how the whole thing felt. They act like they are doing you a monumental favor by allowing you into their establishment. I was already put off and I hadn't even laid eyes on the place but I tried to be open minded and took the appointment they made me several weeks out. Be warned if you need someplace quick this business is not for you. It took a week to just get in touch with me via email. I was given a time frame that they would need to "evaluate" my dog. The hours were very inconvenient for me and I wasn't really happy about leaving my puppy there for eight hours. I know most people need to because they are working. I get that but not everyone has the same needs. When I arrived they immediately took my pup from me and I hadn't even seen the place. I had to ask for our tour. The facility is nice but the smell in the indoor play area was overwhelming and made me slightly ill. The lady laughed it off and said it smelled like "fun". It smelled like over powering urine to me. Before leaving I asked to see where they put my pup and they took me to this small cement cell with a window up high and there was my poor baby, no food, no water, no toys no anything. This is how they evaluate dogs? There's no telling how long they would have left her there but I have my suspicions. I complained and the woman reluctantly put her in the room with the other dogs. Then I told her that I had to pick my dog up a little early because I was going out of town and she told me I would not be able to pick up my own dog when I need because she would be in a meeting. Alarm bells went off in my head and I knew I need to get my dog out of this place. To me this place is crazy sketchy. I'm lucky in that I don't need to use this service but I can't help but worry for those who do. read more

This post is on behalf of my dad: he has been bringing his dog Ruka there for the past month or so and has been so happy with this facility! She was nervous at first about going into daycare but now leaps out of the car towards the door. She is boarding for the next seven days and my dad feels completely at ease with her staying there. They email him pictures and a report card every time Ruka is in daycare which he forwards to me. I'm so relieved he's found a place he trusts his fur baby with.
