Taking my precious boy on a walk.
Carson C.

We've boarded Obi here for almost 3 years now and as long as we live in Louisville, we'll never board him anywhere else! The amenities and offerings that they have for their furry guests are top notch. Everything is so clean and well thought out. The workers are absolutely wonderful and remember Obi every time he comes in. They love our boy and take excellent care of him! And we love them for that. (Every time we drop him off they all squeal "Obbbiiii") I love all the extra stuff that you can add "a la carte" to make any furry friends experience unique. We also love day cation so he can get some interaction. Best boarding place in town- by far!

Do you love your pet? Consider finding a pet sitter or asking a friend to watch your furry friend because even what seems to be the most expensive lodging in town is neglectful. I first took my 5 month old Frenchie, River, to Pet Station about a month ago while I was away for a weekend. I paid for the "Luxury Lounge", which is the most expensive option on the menu at a little over $70/night. I did this after reading many good reviews about this boarder and thinking how nice it would be for my girl to not be cooped up in a cage all weekend. The description promised a living room-like setting where the pups would be in a communal room where they could play all day, go outside whenever they needed to, and would have 24/7 supervision by a staff member. I called and spoke to staff who were super friendly and I was excited to give River the Royal Treatment while I was out of town. She went for two nights and when I picked her up she had a pretty nasty ear infection. No big deal, these things happen at kennels, especially considering River was in an open area with lots of other strange dogs. Fast forward to yesterday. I again needed to put River in the kennel, but this time just for a night. I figured I'd put her in the luxury lounge again to play for the night. I dropped River off on Saturday 10/17 in the morning, a happy pup ready to play. I picked her up on Sunday 10/18 around noon and she was a completely different dog. We had about a 30 minute drive home and Riv slept the whole way. This isn't unusual, I know dogs tend to be pretty tired and lethargic post-boarding. When I arrived home and parked, I tried waking River up and she was like a bag of bones in my lap. She didn't want to open her eyes or get out of the car on her own. Still, I thought, she's just had a long night in an unusual place, probably fatigued and having some stress. I carried her inside and began noticing problems. There was a large raw-looking pink circle on her stomach. I noticed the same type of condition on the underside of her leg as well. First thought is that it's no big deal, another funk brought home from being with other dogs. Then I noticed the front of her face had been scratched and cut so I began looking her whole body over. She had another small chunk of skin/hair missing on her side and several other spots where her skin was peeling that I couldn't tell if it was from a rash or from being in a scuffle. I was really alarmed because no one mentioned any issues to me when I picked her up that morning. I called the pet station and the woman who answered the phone sounded very concerned and put me on hold to talk to the "boarding team". When someone came back to the phone, a manager I believe, this person did not seem to be concerned for one second. I was given a very half-hearted apology and told that one of the dogs grabbed River by the face because River was playing too rough but they didn't feel it warranted reporting. He went on to say the goal is to be "transparent" and he would check with the night shift staff for any other information. I expressed my concern that no one saw the condition River was in before being handed back to me and that I paid for their service because she was supposed to have 24/7 supervision. It felt like their response was weak and lacked sincerity. The manager asked me to text photos of River and he would call me back with more information. I texted the photos and received no reply that the photos were even received. Still not sure if they looked at them because I never got a call back and I doubt I will. I called our on-call vet who said while her condition didn't seem to be severe enough for the ER, I need to get her into the vet ASAP. I've been monitoring River all day and she is not herself. When she finally woke up and walked over to her water bowl for a drink, she started heaving and threw up a foam-like substance. She stumbled, lost balance, and laid on the floor before vomiting more foam. The fact that she vomited foam makes me wonder if she had even been fed that morning as there didn't seem to be any food in her system and she hadn't used the potty since being home. She finally got the strength up to drink some water and I fed her small amounts of food over the next hour to make sure she didn't upset her stomach more. River is in rough shape after spending roughly 24 hours in this hell hole and I will never subject her to that kind of treatment again. I feel terrible to think my dog was suffering all night away from me and I had no idea that the Pet Station cared about nothing more than their $70 to neglect my dog. I fully acknowledge that River can be rough at times when she's playing because she is still a puppy and gets rowdy. I also understand not all dogs respond to that well. What I don't understand is the total lack of communication and concern on the staff's part. A simple heads up when before I drove away would have been much appreciated.

This is our second time taking our pups to Pet Station to get them groomed. The staff is friendly and our pups always come home looking fabulous & happy! Plus, they are more than reasonably priced. Thank you for taking care of our babies!

My dog had never boarded anywhere until here. He is an adult dog who has never been away from us all night. When we moved to the city and went for vacation we had to leave him with someone we trusted. We looked into this place hard and found nothing but positives. They care so much for your dog. They can customize the room, the feeding schedule, activities, medication administration, and anything else you could think of. He's a high energy husky with anxiety. He loves this place. He's boarded three times with them and one time he even whimpered as we pulled away. They send daily pics so you know how they're doing. I can't imagine taking my baby anywhere else. I feel he is safe with them. Also he recently went while shedding for fall and they accommodated him wonderfully by doing some grooming. They have been able to tell me if he's been any bit sick and clearly are keeping eyes on him. I'm so happy Rayden loves it here because we love them too. A wonderful place. Amazing staff.

I love this groomer! I tried a few groomers and none of them could ever get the cut I wanted until Pet Station! The new building is beautiful and always clean. Carla does such a wonderful job with my Labradoodle, Aspen, every time! She always discusses and listens to what I want. She is also very knowledgable about dog behavior which helps her answer my questions and provide the best care possible for my dog. My pup is very skittish of everything and she takes the time to ensure she is comfortable. Thank you Pet Starion and Carla!

They obviously care for all of the dogs. My dog loves going and has played so much all day, he is exhausted at night.

My dog was handled roughly, resulting in expressed anal glands and poorly clipped nails. To add insult to injury, I was still charged for the service. Other times I requested to have his nails trimmed, I would have to ask repeatedly before it got done. I'm extremely disappointed with the service I received from the kennel in April. I boarded my dog for five days and specifically requested a flea and tick bath, ice cream, photographs, and a massage. However, when I picked him up, I was told that the photos were sent to my landline number the day of pickup. To add insult to injury, I found a huge tick on my dog's shoulder that evening, which makes me question whether he even received the flea and tick bath. The kennel offered me a refund for the photos, but I never received it or even the photos. When I called to check on him, someone other than the front desk person answered after the 9th attempt and told me that my dog was 'NOW okay', which really upset me because I had been worried about him. I asked them to explain, and they suggested that I talk to somebody else. So, they got that person, and they essentially gaslighted me into thinking that my dog was fine. However, when I called back, I was told that the groomer had answered the phone and didn't know my dog or what was going on with him. I'm not sure what to believe - was the groomer telling the truth, or was she just saying that to cover for everyone else? I should've listened to my dog when he got on the counter and asked me to hold him. I didn't regretfully. My dog's "4th of July dog party" experience was a real bite - literally! Despite promises of photos and fun, my dog was absent from the pics, and I later discovered puncture wounds and welts on his neck and back. What's concerning is that the staff never disclosed the cause of these injuries, whether it was a fight or just a play bite from another dog. Furthermore, there was no mention of this on the daily report card they provide when I pick up my dog. When I asked for photos of my dog, they never posted any and deleted my comment. They claimed my dog ran away from the camera while simultaneously posting dogs running. This lack of transparency has me worried about the care my dog is receiving. After pickup from daycare, he often has a hoarse bark and needs to urinate urgently. Even urinating by the front door as we exited. I've also noticed he's extremely thirsty, drinking up to 16 ounces of water in the parking lot before going home. They have photos of him foaming at the mouth in the play yard. Sometimes he barks nonstop on the ride home, only to need to poop as soon as we get home. Don't kennels usually take dogs out to pee and poop within 12 hour time frame? Little inconsistencies in care can add up fast whenever it comes to your pets needs. Posted on the front door is a sign stating they only offer holistic and safe items, but they've installed tires and recycled tire materials for the dogs to play and run on. Tires are not holistic or natural. Artificial turf can heat up to a scorching 180 degrees in the summer. I would suggest you do some research before you start using this facility. *5 star Google reviews from current employees like the one left by Saryn_1 is a conflict of interest.

Before we began the training, our puppy was lovable but demanding and thought she was in charge of our whole family. Practically 90% of her behavior problems (like mouthing/biting, barking, jumping on people, pulling) are virtually gone in less than a day! The rest are already much improved and I'm sure those will continue to get better as we reinforce our expectations with her. Our home is a much more peaceful, enjoyable place and our pup definitely seems happier and less stressed now that we have set clear, consistent rules in a language that she can understand. I love that it's done without treats or physical correction but instead uses how dogs naturally communicate to change behavior. Thank you Doug!
