My 1st time taking my Yorkie and my Morkie for grooming. Marina greeted us as we came in for our appt. She is very professional and provided a great grooming experience. Listening to the customer requests not doing what you because you don't like how it looks Checking before applying anything to an animal (natural or not) I'd love to see a video of my dog being "groomed" to see how he was treated. Our playful dog first experience grooming mortified him. He came home only to hid under our bed for 2 days Our dog that ALWAYS plays with his dad, won't go near him. I didn't see a man working there. Whatever happened my dog is forever changed it seems. I've never taken a dog to the vet or anywhere have this reaction. Then they shaved my dog but charged for matting. You shaved the dog what more did you have to do for matting? An unexpected $159 trip to the groomer frustrating and didn't get what I asked for!! Never gave they offered any type of refund Only what I can possibly use on my dogs beet red balls Oh and he was cut on the stomach. I get the move around BUT NO ONE told me he had been cut!!!! I looked for a groomer for my golden doodle for a long time and finally went to Shag 2 Chic Salon. Miss Jordan groomed my dog and she is the best. This was my second visit to Shag 2 Chic. The first visit went smoothly. During this visit, my sweet 7-year-old dog returned with her eye swollen shut. She had a large cut over her vision, and her eye required flushing by the vet. The vet said she was irritated from the chemicals in her eye, and she had a large gash above her eye. She is a calm, easygoing lap dog. I called to let them know, and they said it never happened here. We took her on. She was fine and came out to an emergency vet appointment. Grooming costs $180 for two tiny dogs, and the vet bill is $150. Very unhappy, and concern or even an apology would have been appreciated. I've never given a bad review, but this was the worst experience. read more

I'm not one usually to take time out of my day to write a post about a business, and if I do it's usually to acknowledge incredible service and to try to do a good deed. However, after my wife and I's experience at Shag 2 Chic I felt the need to share, so that others can make a more informed decision when selecting a groomer for their pet. I have written a lot here, but this poor review is centered around 1) an emergency trip to the vet for an eye injury (see Google Review for pics 2) poor communication 3) rude customer service 4) high prices. On 5/3/23, my wife dropped off our dogs to get groomed. She had scheduled this appointment a few months ago when it was a different business, Club Wag. I have since come to learn that the Shag 2 Chic on 2/5/23 and took over the client book from Club Wag at this time. Upon taking over the business, Marina (owner) decided that vaccination records would be required at the time of grooming. I am a fan of the creation of this new standard. However, we weren't notified of this requirement before the visit, and therefore my wife did not bring them with her. This caused some inconvenience for her, because they would not allow her to leave the dogs until they had the records. This was a minor inconvenience, but there was a lack of a proactive approach to communicating this. The employee taking the dogs back was rude to my wife about not having the records, and my wife was put off by the interaction so much so that she considered cancelling the appointment. My wife noticed that the nice "gated rooms" that Club Wag had for the dogs to wait in are now replaced with cages. Not a huge deal, just a downgrade in the overall experience. The bill was $250 after tip . This is compared to $160 when it was Club Wag for like type services with both dogs. The new prices could have been communicated better, but nothing unethical here. Just highlighting the fact that it's substantially more expensive. One of our dogs was trimmed despite filling out a very detailed instruction sheet that he should not be trimmed in certain areas, but the grooming looked really good so my wife let it be. After getting our dogs home, she notices that one of our dog's eyes looks a little different and appears irritated. She called the groomer to see if anything had happened, and was told that nothing had occurred. Marina recommended using warm water to wipe our dog's eye. We did, but as the night progressed our dog's eye eventually became so irritated it was essentially closed. At this point, I took her to the vet to get it examined. It was determined that she had a corneal erosion. A corneal erosion, or abrasion occurs when there is loss of the corneal epithelium, the cornea's outer layer. These can occur if the cornea is scraped or injured, leading to eye pain. She was prescribed medicine to help with the pain, and ointment to hopefully heal her eye. We have not been to a follow up visit yet, but we're hopeful that it won't evolve into something more serious. We never received a call from Marina, or anyone at Shag 2 Chic to check on our dog. I spoke with Marina on Thursday, and I told her about our dog's diagnosis and that the vet had stated that this isn't uncommon with groomers because of all of the blow dryers, fur in the air, and the brushing. Marina was very defensive and kept speaking over me. She stated that my wife had been rude to her employee when dropping the dogs off taking zero ownership for the lack of proactive communication, and would not even consider the fact that an accident could have occurred, and reminded me that my wife signed a "grooming consent" form prior to dropping the dogs. I was really just concerned about my dog, and it was very disappointing for Marina to have zero consideration, or even any sort of empathy for the situation. We will not be returning, and will be looking for another groomer in the future for all of the reasons above. I look forward to writing a great review for them on their page. read more

Wonderful grooming salon very professional I just took my pets there for the first time , I was absolutely pleased , the best grooms my dogs have ever had , they smelt amazing , friendly staff , I love that they do require vaccinations to make sure everyone is healthy .
