Our training with Michael using Bark Buster's methods has been incredible. While the methods are quite unconventional and at times we fully thought Michael was joking when he asked us to do things like growl at our dog, the methods WORK! We have a one year old Australian Shepherd who struggled terribly with anxiety, trust, food aggression, and lots of fear. He was a stray before we adopted him and we had a ton to work through. We tried other training methods and spent thousands, only for those methods to not work. Finding bark busters was our saving grace! Michael taught us how to understand Milo's behavior and meet his needs to allow him to flourish. We have addressed our struggles with Milo and are now able to take him to the beach, hiking, walking around crowded areas such as parks and outdoor shops, etc. Don't let the unconventional methods scare you, they truly work and it is amazing to see how the dogs respond to them!

We love Bark Buster! Of course we also love our personal trainer Michael Hagan. He is very prompt with replies to our problems and has been spot on with our Lab mix, Buddy. Our big baby has a lot of problem and is a very anxious dog, I hate to use the word "reactive" because it is so over used. We had problems with aggression towards other dogs. Pulling on the leash and going after other dogs off leash that approached him ... very scary. Michael showed us some specific leash controls to start with Buddy and we had great success. When we moved we had a complaint from our neighbors of barking. Our first response was not our baby but after buying a camera we saw that we had a problem and again Michael had great insight and came through with a regimen for separation anxiety. Which I am happy to say has worked and we now have happy neighbors and a happier Buddy. We did opt for the gold membership and we are glad we did as we have had to call a few times for a short consult via phone and it has worked perfectly for us. Michael is very knowledgeable, kind and supportive. He has great insight in dog behavior and is quick with a response to solve our behavior issues with Buddy.

What interested us in this place was it being specifically for smaller sized dogs, under 40lbs. We took him on a trial visit which he loved, although he was very nervous. After that, about once a week we would take him to regular daycare just so he can get used to being around the employees and the dogs. When we would pick him up, he would be so full of energy and joy. He would mainly stick by the people rather than the dogs, he's just like that. During his stay, he had gotten a minor injury(due to his fault not the daycare), which they called us to let us know of what had happened, what they will be doing (cleaning the wound and making sure he doesn't lick it). If it had escalated, they would provide some medication, but luckily he was perfectly fine and unbothered. They were very informative and caring for the dogs, have a great location, and the people are kind, we are grateful. Although we do not need to take him to daycare or to board him anytime soon, we would definitely return here if we needed to.

I could not get Stormy to walk on a leash, without choking herself. Because of this, she was under socialized. She was fearful of many things also. They ended up keeping her for 3 weeks. I had a couple "check in" one on one Training with her Trainer, Tiffany. At the first session, Stormy, was walking on leash in a "heel" position. Tiffany had also taught her "place", "stay" and "break" to release her from her "stay". Stormy was so much calmer when I brought her home. Before training, she would come in from the yard and jump over the back of the couch. If I was sitting on the couch, a few times, she landed on my head, on her way to the other side. She also jumped a lot. After coming home, she was calm inside and stopped jumping all over. It was a "joy" to take her on a walk and have her calmly maintain her "heel" position. She was much more enjoyable and was finally able to get out of"in the world"! This was entirely due to Tiffany's training. Tiffany was very good with her, very knowledgeable about dog behavior and cared for Stormy. She was professional, checked in with me to see how I was feeling about Stormy's behavior, gave helpful advice and answered any questions I had. In addition, I received daily photos of Stormy from Heather. That was awesome because I missed her and it was nice to get updates on Stormy's progress. Additionally, the Facility is very clean and everyone working there was very nice. Michael was very nice too. The groomer, Jacob, was nice and professional also. The Board and Train was expensive but after Tiffany gave me back a dog I could fully enjoy, I'd say it was worth it! Matan has a wonderful operation going there and I highly recommend them. My Veterinarian in Camarillo, gave me Matan's Card and said she'd gotten positive feedback on them. I also brought my "dog reactive", Dog, Bon Bon in for 3 week Board and Train. Tiffany, also trained her too! She did an amazing job with Bon Bon also. Bon Bon, was a challenging case for her because, of all things, she told me Bon Bon, could be a bit stubborn! LOL. Even though Bon Bon, was a completely different personality than Stormy, Bon Bon, was wonderful walking on leash when she returned. She's also not as reactive. I was even able to walk both of them together, which was a first and was also my original goal for training! My "pack walk"! Tiffany told me to wait to try to walk them together. There was no way I was getting out the door with just one! They both did remarkably well. At first Bon Bon wanted to walk ahead but I corrected her and she walked in a "heel" on my right side. I was finally able to get them both "heeling" on my left side, with Stormy closest to me. Yay! That's exactly what I wanted when I sent them both to "board and train". Finally, as a bonus, Bon Bon came home with "perfect weight"! It was all the extra work on Dog Pacer. Thank you to everyone at Matan Dog Training! You all made it a great experience for me!

We took our two dogs there for a temperament evaluation since it was their first time and we were wanting to book them for a week in October. They took them back for maybe 3 MINUTES and came back out and said that one of our dogs was nervous (I'm sorry but duh) and that we needed to book "A LOT" of day visits so he would not be nervous anymore. It's odd because it's totally normal for any dog to be nervous the first time going somewhere which immediately threw up a red flag for me. Not to mention the lady was pretty rude about it when I was obviously confused as to how they would know his normal stress levels after 3 minutes upon getting there. I got weird vibes so I just said we can cancel it and no worries. She immediately snaps back and says something about me not being fair to our dog if I don't book daycare visits regularly and what am I even doing there if we already have a boarding place etc.(very strange behavior). Most places have you book a day visit so they can see how your dog adjusts the entire day which our dogs do totally fine. Our dog is 10 years old and doesn't have any underlying anxiety conditions and was never prescribed medication for that ever so this seemed odd. Just a bad vibe in general. Unfriendly staff and insufficient time to actually see how the dogs warm up to the place for the first time.
