Cutest dog store ever! My little shichon Mochi turned one year old today and we wanted to celebrate by spoiling her with yummy treats and getting her a birthday cake! The owner was there and she told us she's been in business for over 25 years at different locations. She is so nice! They had dog treats at the door for mochi and she loved them! She customizes the birthday cake and you can pick icing color for the writing! They even added her name on there and cute birthday message. The icing is made out of cream cheese she said and we got the most popular cake flavor, the peanut butter! This is the cutest dog cake I've seen! It's perfect for her! Today's my weenie dog's birthday, I planned on making cupcakes for him earlier this week and I ended up not having enough time when it came down to it. I walked in with a friend and Sherri(?) greeted us with a warm welcome and disclosed that everything in the store was natural/safe for our beloved pets. I strolled around the store and a happy birthday bandana caught my eye. When I mentioned to her that it was my weenie's birthday, she said she had a spare cake in the back if I decided I wanted to buy it. I thought about it for a while and I did! I ended up walking out with a bandana, duck bone, dog safe cake and a peanut butter bone cookie (free w/ check-in). Sherri's really friendly and makes the environment/experience in her store worth it. All of the things in the store are adorable and wonderful treats for your fur baby. Tiny store, barely any parking. Giving one star because the woman was very friendly! Sadly, I was not impressed by any means at the options for treats and cookies. Lots of them were broken as well. I got one tiny bag of treats that ended up being $11.50... ridiculous!!! I buy high end treats all the time that don't cost that much, and while I love supporting local small business that was way overpriced. It had maybe 8-10 biscuits in the bag. Also, they claimed to be "anti-cancer", bold claim to make for a dog treat! Will not be back. read more

I called the Barking Dog Boutique on 06/01 to inquire about a gender reveal cake for my dogs. I was told all I would need to do is give a 24 hour notice and she would be able to do the cake. I then called the boutique on 06/08 to place my order for the reveal cake. The lady asked me to send her pictures of what I had in mind. I did so and called her back and she said she would be able to make this happen. I placed the order that Thursday and then was told they were unable to have it ready in 24 hours (first red flag) instead I had to wait 48 hours which pushed back picking it up until Saturday. Saturday, June 10 rolls around, two hours before I'm supposed to pick up the order and the boutique calls me and says that she is unable to make the cake I had originally requested (second red flag) I was at a loss for words. She said she could make a marble iced cake, which was nothing near what I had ordered. Unfortunately, with it being two hours before pick up I didn't have much choice but to go along with it. When I arrived the cake looked like something a ten year old would make (third red flag). I was so disappointed that this was what I was going to have to take and show for our gender reveal. I was also under the impression that there would be icing in the middle to reveal the gender and there wasn't, it was like a funfetti peanut butter cake instead with scarce specks of blue (4th flag). When I took the cake out of the box, thank goodness my daughter wasn't around as the cake wasn't fully iced on the ends that it revealed the gender to me (5th flag). She ended up charging me full price for a cake that they said they could make, yet two hours before pick up gave me no choice but to take something I didn't even want. The only good thing I can say is that the dogs did like the flavor of the cake. Needless to say though we will not be ordering from this place again. Save your time and money and make the cake yourself!! read more

Wow! We stopped in last night for the first time at 5:59 when they were closing at 6. Instead of being rushed out, Sherrie the owner greeted us and told us to take our time. She answered all of questions and gave us great suggestions for the perfect snack. You definitely notice the difference between local ownership and someone just working for a corporate pet store. Amazing selection for everything your dog needs and a great gifting selection for any occasion. What a great place! I stopped in to pick up a cake for my best friend's dog and they have all kinds of things for your pup! Dog food and home made cakes are just the tip of the tail for these guys. There's also charms for collars, bandanas and more treats than you can wag your tail at! The staff is super helpful and very accommodating! They do dog cakes in varying sizes that are personalized with icing, I pick orange and blue for the Thunder. The small at just under $14 is 2-4 servings which is perfect. They also have dog "chocolate" flavors which is a diabetic chocolate alternative that is safe for dogs. Would recommend to anyone who is a pet lover and wants a special treat for their dogs.
