I have used other trainers in the past and this is by far the most progress I have seen out of my dog, Skippy. Before skippy was always pulling on her leash but now is starting to walk by my side. We have done about 3 classes so far and plan to do more! I can't wait to see how much further skippy can advance. Reminder you also have to put in the work. It can't all be on the trainers. :) I try my best to do my dog homework before next sessions.

It's been over three months and I can officially say, she has become our best trained dog ever! I am so glad I made the decision. I have never experienced ongoing training that includes classes throughout the week on a flexible schedule. Because of this flexibility, training has easily become part of our routine (we go about 3 times per week). My puppy looks forward to it as do I!  Fidelis K9 also offers Good Canine Citizen (GCC) certification which we are currently working towards.  Most importantly: a HUGE SHOUT OUT to Alejandra and Antonio, the trainers, who I feel are the heart of the training facility. I wanted to work on getting better engagement with my two year old German Shepherd Kona and I wasn't sure what I was missing. After filling out the contact form, I got in contact with Terra and ended up scheduling our first session soon after. What I loved most about my session with Terra was that she met me where I was at in my training journey. She told me to show her what I typically do and then she offered me suggestions to adjust for better responses. When we attended Terra's group walk classes, the experience was similar. On one group walk, my dog was at his worst and Terra just kindly gave suggestions on what to adjust and he did amazing by the end. Terra is awesome and I appreciate her approach. She's exactly what I needed at this point in our journey.

Roux lacked a lot of manners, was pushy when it came towards other dogs in play time, and lacked impulse control. He was your stereotypical, overly-friendly dog who was too smart for his own good. Working with Susan has been such a pleasure and my pup came back to me with better manners and impulse control. He also plays very well with others dogs and loves to play tug with them now! Yay! Walking him is a dream. I especially love working and training with him in public because he is a rockstar and does sooooo well now! We get so many compliments on our daily walks or when I take him out for lunch on how well-behaved he is... all thanks to Susan! I loved the transition lessons as we prepared for him to come back home. It helped a lot with teaching me what I needed to know to set my boy up for success once he came back. Heidi with Canefida is amazing!…read more I originally signed up for her class last year a couple months after I adopted my dog Lobo. I was only able to attend the first session before I had to drop out because his neuter surgery got moved up unexpectedly. Fast forward about a year later, we were finally able to come back and complete the training -- and I'm really glad we did. Heidi is very kind, patient, and clearly knows what she's doing. She explains things in a way that actually makes sense and takes the time to help both the dogs and the owners feel comfortable. Lobo absolutely loved her and was always excited to see her. Our class was right after her puppy class, so I got to watch for a few minutes, and she was just as great with the puppies and their owners. You can tell she really cares and wants people to succeed with their dogs. Lobo's review: "she gives directions, I listen, I get rewarded... 10/10 would attend again." If you're looking for a solid trainer, I definitely recommend checking her out. She offers classes at Pet Food Express on Freeport and also in Roseville.

I signed my dog up online for agility 2 weeks before the class was scheduled to start. I did not receive any receipt or confirmation, but the money was withdrawn from my account. I did not hear anything from Competition Canine so I went ahead and called the day before his class was set to start, just so I could confirm. The person on the phone informed me that the class was cancelled! And was not even apologetic. They told me that the trainer was supposed to reach out and they would have her reach out to me. That would have been nice to know that the class was cancelled, I don't think it's too much to send out a simple email or text message. I'm just glad I didn't drive all the way out there to show up to a cancelled class. Well another week goes by and they finally let me know via email that I can sign up for another class or get a refund. I responded to their email asking for specifics regarding the other class that they had available as an option. I did not hear anything back. So another week goes by and at this point I'm not interested in their business so I send them another email asking for a refund for the class. I still have not heard anything back! I had to contact my bank to dispute the charge due to Competition Canine's negligence or just lack of customer service. I just don't understand how they can run a business like this. Not only were they incredibly inconsiderate of my time (if a class is cancelled that's ok, but just let me know), but to withdraw the money from my account and not respond to my inquiries? Seems fraudulent to me...I'd rather go elsewhere where there is real and considerate communication.
