We had a great experience working with Don! He was patient, knowledgeable, and really helped us understand how to communicate better with our dogs. We saw real improvement and learned a lot along the way. Highly recommend!

As an experienced rescue dog h human I never expected to be in need of a trainer. I rescued a Cocker Spaniel and he had the worst manners! Thank God for Don at Wagtime! I talked to quite a few trainer before I decided on Don. I will always be grateful. The stress was overwhelming me and I saw Don work with Roscoe and immediately he had him in the palm of his hand! Don showed me exactly what to do and how to do my "homework". He is accessible and uses positive reinforcement. I honestly can't thank him enough. Roscoe is now fantastic on walks at my pace, doesn't get excited around other dogs and tug on his leash. He has excellent manners and looks to me for guidance. My heart was full the moment I met the little rascal and now it is also nice and calm. I highly recommend Don!

I adopted a 6-year-old Maltipoo who had been surrendered along with her dog buddy. The buddy was adopted and this sweet dog was left at the shelter. She was totally traumatized. She wouldn't eat or drink. She hid behind my couch, and I couldn't get her out. I sent a message to Don, and he came over within the hour. He patiently drew my pup out and got her settled down. We discussed what was important to me, and we outlined a plan. He made time to meet with me and my pup until she and I were both comfortable, she was eating and drinking and using the dog door and walking with me safely. I can't recommend Don highly enough. He is a miracle worker. This is the best money I ever spent.

    TwoBit

We adopted TwoBit, an untrained one year old Parson Russell Terrier at the SPCA. Our previous dogs were already trained when we got them so we had no experience with training a dog. After 2 weeks on our own using YouTube videos and getting nowhere we were frazzled and called Don. His first visit was like watching a magician, he had our dog doing sit and lay down almost immediately. I couldn't stop smiling. He trained us as well as TwoBit (I think we needed the training more!) and gave us the skills and the confidence to get the job done. We couldn't be happier, well worth the money. Thank you Don!

We highly recommend Don. We were amazed at how he was immediately able to control our dog. He "trained" us and now we have a dog that is able to go on walks without pulling, lunging, and reacting. We never thought it was possible!

Before that, we enjoyed dog parks and meeting other dogs and their owners on our daily walks. She became aggressive during puberty. The Vet said let's wait to see what happens after the spay. Jade got more aggressive, not less. Desiree is a dog whisperer. When we met at our consultation, Desire walked into my backyard, and Jade snarled and bounded across toward her. I almost fainted watching my huge dog running toward her. Desiree did her trainer thing, and Jade completely relaxed. I watched Jade become putty in her hands within minutes, and I AM NOT EXAGGERATING. The training was detailed and extensive. My dog responds to me when I call her with a quiet "hey" when she starts to play with my cats or go towards the kitchen. She places in the house even when guests arrive, or someone rings the doorbell. Her PICA (eating non-food items) is almost completely gone. ( Jade is s/p a life-threatening bowel obstruction after eating a towel) She went to the dog park and played with a Golden until her energy was spent a few days ago. I can play with her off-leash and have confidence in my abilities to communicate with her. A couple of weeks after the training, Jade all of sudden began to be triggered by the satellite dishes and telephone polls on our walks. Well, you can imagine how difficult it became with aggressive barking and then refusal to move. I called Desiree, and she drove the 20 miles to my house immediately. She offered some recommendations, which I applied right away and I could see that the initial onslaught of fear dissipated over a couple of weeks. Desiree is professional, prompt, clear, and is phenomenal with dogs. It's been 8 months since training and Jade is an amazing companion. Thank you, Desiree

Instead of leaving us to figure it out on our own, Bill continued to offer guidance, answer questions, and provide additional support until we were back on track again. His commitment to our success went far beyond the initial training. As a result of the confidence and skills we gained through working with Bill, my daughter decided to enter her dog in a 4-H Dog Show. We were thrilled when she placed in the competition! It was a wonderful experience and a testament to the progress both our dog and our family have made. We are extremely grateful for Bill's continued encouragement and dedication. Knowing that he is there to help when challenges arise has made all the difference. We highly recommend Bill and Sierra K9 to anyone looking for not only excellent training, but also exceptional ongoing support.

Several months ago, I found a husky mix on the street. As an experienced husky owner, I named her…read moreSky and decided to bring her into the family. However, I realized almost immediately that she had some serious behavioral issues--specifically intense leash aggression and barking--that I simply wasn't equipped to handle alone. After researching local options, I gave Bill at Sierra K9 a call. It was clear right away that he has a genuine passion for what he does. He took the time to listen to my specific goals: I needed Sky to truly become part of my "pack" and be well-behaved enough to join me at breweries, and events. Bill outlined his methods and experience in great detail, and we sat down to map out exactly what it would take to get her there. I opted for the two-week intensive Board-and-Train program. Bill made it clear that the training wouldn't end when I picked her up; he committed to meeting with me for as long as it took for me to feel confident. Throughout those two weeks, Bill and his wife, Shelby, sent regular progress reports, photos, and videos. Seeing her thrive gave me so much peace of mind--it was obvious she was making strides and was incredibly well cared for. On pickup day, Bill and I had a thorough hand-off session. While I was impressed with Sky's progress, Bill was honest with me: the foundation was there, but the real work was just beginning for both of us. When we got back home, I'll admit I struggled. The leash reactivity and pulling returned, and I felt completely hopeless. But Bill and Shelby didn't leave me hanging. They checked in daily, "talked me off the ledge" more than once, and quickly scheduled an in-person session at my house. When Bill arrived, he could tell I was frustrated. He calmly reminded me of the process and took Sky's leash; she immediately "snapped back into shape"--no pulling, no barking, just focus. He carefully observed my handling, gave me manageable homework, and, most importantly, helped me reframe my mindset. He taught me that training isn't a chore; it's an exercise in patience and a form of therapy for both the owner and the dog. Fast forward one month: I've been working with Sky every day and meeting with Bill weekly (and he is always perfectly on time). The transformation is night and day. While she's still a little better on the leash with him than with me (haha!), she is truly a different dog. I know now that with time and Bill's continued guidance, Sky is going to fit in perfectly. I'm actually enjoying the work, we celebrate the wins together, and I am sincerely grateful to the Sierra K9 team.

He took the time to explain not only what to do but why it works, which helped us feel much more confident continuing the training at home. He now heels and walks right next to us instead of constantly tugging on the leash, which has made walks so much more enjoyable. As a first-time puppy owner, I wasn't sure what to expect or if puppies just naturally outgrow certain behavioral issues. Either way, this is the only formal training she has ever had, and the results speak for themselves. She came back so incredibly well-behaved. And has reminded well behaved. When we go out in public, people always come up to see her because she's cute, but what they *constantly* comment on is how exceptionally well-behaved she is for an 8-month-old puppy. It is so validating to hear that from strangers! I love and fully agree with Anthony's methods and what he does here. If you want a well-behaved dog, Powerhouse K9 is the only place to go. Highly recommend! Full disclosure: I have a pure poodle and they are known to be smart. I brought her to PowerHouseK9 initially at 4.5 months, only weeks after adopting her so my reviews are specific to this. I cannot speak to any other situation or dog breed.
