My first impressions of the Barley Mow were good. A tidy bar and restaurant created a good impression along with first rate service and a smile. The first
warning shot was sadly the insipid orange juice more watery concentrate which insisted on being agitated lest it settle to the bottom of the glass. Moving on, the menu is extensive, along with the wine and desserts. There are vegetarian options and I settled for some Nachos and my partner had duck and noodles. We were served chalk and cheese the Nachos (more accurately described as a bag of doritos in the middle of three blobs of cold dips straight from the jar) being the chalk; and just as edible. The Duck was apparently most delicious. I counted myself lucky that I wasn't hungry. The prices are reasonable, though, and the ambience good, which makes for a pleasant stay. read more
