the flowers I thought the recipient was getting is nothing like the picture on their website that I ordered them from; I upgraded to the deluxe option thinking g the flowers would be plentiful and full as shown in their online picture, what was delivered was sparse flowers with ribbon strewn throughout the arrangement with the appearance that a child did it. I sent the florist an email immediately after I received the picture of what was delivered, and did not get the courtesy of a response, so I decided to post a review on Yelp. read more

A small town florist shop with style and class- right here in Hastings! I popped in to Barlow florist on a whim to see if I could snag a bouquet for my mom. Almost as soon as I entered, the owner was helping me select the perfect bouquet, and even brought out different options that I could choose from to craft it! I will definitely be back! read more

This is the worst flower shop in Hastings! We order flowers for our mother's grave in Nashville. We are willing to pay extra for as much flowers as possible. Because of this request they have banned us from ordering from them now. Does this make sense to anyone?? I grew up in Hastings and never would imagine this happening. Do yourself a favor and take your business some where else. Barlows doesn't want your business. That is clearly evident. The rudest customer service you'll ever receive is when you call this place. I had flowers delivered for Father's Day, and as I live in NYC, I was diligent in calling this florist before ordering to make sure they delivered to the location. I had the order pulled up on their website as I was calling to make sure I was ordering the correct bouquet. FIRST - they charged me almost double what was quote on the website for delivery. I was able to talk them down 3 dollars which was still more then the site, quoting the website price. The woman who answered the phone argued that she had to pay her driver hourly which seemed very inappropriate to me. If you advertise delivery, you should deliver and not give the costumer a hard time about how much it costs you. SECOND - the day of delivery, the driver got lost and couldn't find the house (though it's easily found on google maps), when I spoke to costumer service (again the same woman), she complained to me again as though it were my fault and wanted to charge me another delivery fee. I asked her to cancel the order but she did not want to lose the sale and ultimately sent the driver out again. She asked me to have my dad call to confirm he would be home. When he called, she tried to convince him to pick it up even though I had already paid for delivery. THIRD - I paid for the deluxe version of this bouquet and as you can see in picture, that is not what was delivered. When I called to ask about the bouquet, the same woman tried to say she couldn't find my order, then made the excuse that her husband made the bouquet. Ultimately, I told her I was disappointed, she proceeded to yell at me over the phone again about the delivery man not being able to find the house. Which again, is a problem with the delivery man, not me nor my father. Ultimately, the flowers, though half of what I ordered and paid for, were lovely, the costumer service and overall experience was horrendous read more

I ordered a beautiful bouquet for my friend's birthday thru a florist that came up on a google search (Ava's Florist). The order was ultimately filled by Barlow Florist. I paid for the upgraded bouquet and a red vase. The flowers that were delivered were embarrassing and pathetic looking. The vase was clear and the bow looked like it had been tied by a 5 year old. It was so very awful! I would NOT recommend Barlow Florist to anyone! read more

Met with the manager Carlos 3-4 months before my wedding. I was supposed to recieve a cascade bouquet for my wedding and an arch was to be filled with flowers. I paid over $400 for these two things combined. The bouquet did not cascade in any way, except for one piece of green shrub. The arch...had plenty of green, but barely any flowers. We over paid big time. I would not recommend this florist to anyone. read more

I found the person who helped me with a difficult situation created by FTD to be friendly, helpful and very patient. She took time to listen and was very cooperative in helping me to fix an error . I will probably use this florist again. The test will be in how the arrangement looks when received. read more

We attended a funeral visitation for the son of my friend of 48 years. It was such a sad time. My wife and I wanted to send flowers for the occasion. In the obit we were given the option to order flowers by clicking a link. The link took us to a page that showed various options and naturally we selected the best we could find on the site (based on the price range). There was even a picture of the supposed arrangement that we were ordering. The order went to Barlow, who delivered in time for the occasion. What arrived was terrible. I wish there was a way to emphasize how absolutely terrible they were. What arrived was an ugly squat bowl with some dead, brown unopened roses. The arrangement was the tiniest in the room and the flowers were obviously dead cast offs rather than fresh flowers. We were mortified. The next business day my wife contacted the florist and got a poor response from the manager, so she emailed the owner, Mr Barlow, who replied by email and denied that there was any problem. He implied that we were lying. We were not, and I am surprised at how poorly the whole thing was handled by Barlow Florist Co. The only thing that they got right was that they delivered to the right location and on time, but after seeing the trash they delivered we really would have preferred that they had delivered nothing. We buy lots of flowers from OTHER florists, and this was absolutely the worst experience we've ever had. read more
