I wanted to love this place. It has a lot of options for food, snacks, groceries plants, and desserts. The soup bar is impressive for sure! If you like soup this is the place for you. The food I had wasn't great but it wasn't terrible either. I had a slice of cheese pizza, some jalapeño potato salad , some chocolates, and a gelato sample. Most of it was just pretty bland. The potato salad was the most disappointing part of my meal. I was also not a fan of their beer garden prices. Over 8 dollars for a draft is not great. Customer service here was also irritating as I watched the bartender walk all around while I waited. Maybe I tried the wrong items and like I said they have TONS of options. I would go back but mostly for the soup. read more

Horrocks is a super cool store, boasting lots of local goods, specialty foods and beverages. a great deli, food cafe, plants and florals and that's just the tip of it! Their prices for some of the trinkets and plants is a little pricey, but it's not the case for a majority of their offerings. Our favorite is checking out the great beer selection and enjoying one in their beer garden. You unfortunately cannot purchase any can and have them open it, and are limited to what they have on draft. It's still a nice selection and fun to taste and enjoy one in the garden. read more

To be completely honest, I wish more grocery stores were like Horrocks! This place was so awesome! I cannot believe this was my first time there. We spent at least a half hour in the front portion before even entering the actual store! Everything is so nice and I love how it's organized. It's also nice you're able to eat food there! I saw some with alcoholic beverages as well! Speaking of alcohol, my boyfriend loved that you could take a 6 pack of whatever variety beers he wanted! So that was a neat plus! They also have a decent sized NA section for those who aren't big drinkers but still want ~something~ :) I already cannot wait to go back here and shop around! Highly recommend read more

What an awesome spot, how have I never been here? I always heard people talk about this place but it's not super convenient to drive to from our house so I've just never checked it out. I'm glad I finally did! The food, gifts, bar, and so much more is going to make me keep visiting. I loved the salad bar paired with a freshly made sandwich and some soup. I can't wait to come back when the beer garden is open with live music this summer. The staff were all super friendly and helpful as well. I pictured a high end Whole Foods type place when people talked about it but it's nothing like that! This is a true local vibe gem and you need to check it out! read more

We love Horrocks in Kentwood. There is so much to see, do, taste, take in and enjoy! When we go, our first stop is always the tasting bar. They always have a wide selection of seasonal and rotating beers and wine to sample. We will buy a glass of our favorite and do our shopping! They also have a coffee bar during certain hours. The selection of produce is wonderful. It's the only place I can get bulk ginger and turmeric. Their meat counter is spectacular. We have spoken to the manager a couple of times and he's so helpful and nice. The brats are the best around! So many great flavors to choose from. You can find so many different types of fresh meat and frozen seafood. We also love the deli and cheeses (the only place we've have found Jamon Serrano). The soup selection is wonderful. The variety of houseplants and seasonal garden plants is amazing. It's also the only place we go now for our Christmas Tree! They have a wonderful selection of loose leaf teas, bulk candy and snacks and popcorn. The backyard garden is cozy and hosts food trucks and music throughout the season. We noticed that our produce bill decreased when we started shopping Horrocks vs Meijer and it's much better quality. Highly recommend! read more

My husband and I were at horrocks Saturday night. After we did our shopping, we bought a bottle of wine & sat & watched the band. Sitting in the greenhouse full of people drinking alcohol, I thought it'd be ok to open my bottle of wine. 2 glasses in I get surrounded like I stole it. The one guy was really rude & whipped the little sign around on the table & asked if I read the rules. Obviously not sir or I wouldn't have opened it. In a row of 5 tables, we were at the ONLY table that had the rules posted, figured it was just drink specials or or ads so I didn't bother reading it. He then snatched my bottle of wine off the table & said he was taking it...you sir are very rude & have small dick energy! With your attitude, you shouldn't be working in an establishment with children & elderly people. To the other gentlemen who kindly explained why I couldn't drink my own bottle of wine..thank you for being kind but I will not be coming back read more

I absolutely love this place. It's like a beer garden, mixed with a greenhouse, mixed with a floral department, mixed with the grocery shop! You can actually get a beer or a glass of wine and go grocery shopping. All their food is fresher than fresh. They have a huge parking lot out front. It's very organized. Prices are great for the quality of food. Very well lit. I love the soup station. They're made daily and so far every one of them has been delicious. I have not found one I did not like. I actually get a bowl of soup, order a made to order sandwich from deli, take my glass of wine and go into the garden area and pull up a table to eat. It's amazing. In addition to fresh produce, a butcher shop and a giant wine/beer selection they have FREE yes FREE live music on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights. A must go to stop in my book read more

I have been going here my entire life. I used to live right next to it so me and my mom and siblings would go almost every day and the nostalgia is so beautiful. Sadly I moved away almost five years ago and it's so sad that I rarely get to go anymore because it is over 30 minutes away from my house. This place is so amazing I love the giant candy aisle's and the soup is great also the sushi is so great. I love this place so much the gelato is so good. And the popcorn is great. You can find pretty much anything in this store. I miss it so much and I'm so excited to go again. read more

This review is for first timers. The store is neat and if I lived nearby, I'd very likely frequent. For someone who is in the area for a night or two, I'd 100% pass on this place as something to go to for a meal. I'm sure the market prepared food is good, but the actual seating area was unimpressive and maybe sat around 50. When we went at 6 on Saturday, that area was packed. The images I saw here were misleading, as the seated area I saw wasn't in the greenhouse area with the lights. Perhaps the beer garden is a cool space when it's not raining and maybe the greenhouse space is used more in the offseason. read more

Went to Horrocks to get a few things, when i went to pay for my stuff i pulled out my driver's license to show the clerk that I'm a veteran. The clerk said we don't honor veteran's discounts at this store. I know Horrocks in Battle Creek gives veterans a 5% discount for our purchase. The reason i stopped at this location was because i was in Grand Rapids to take care of other business. It sounds to me the owners decided that us veterans don't need discounts. It's a shame that they don't honor those of us the served in the military to keep our freedom for everyone in the United States. I hope the other veterans don't shop there. I won't step foot in that store ever again. read more

I was in the store this morning - 12/19/25. I went looking for specific Italian red wines and specialty cheeses, both intended as Christmas presents. I first enlisted help in the wine dept and was directed to the wine I was looking to purchase. I then had a similar experience in the cheese dept. I did not get their names but both were extremely helpful and friendly. As was my cashier. We love Horrocks and shop there on a regular basis. Horrocks is the Midwest Harrod's of garden & grocery. Here are some of the reasons I rave about this impressive establishment: 1- drink while you shop! Enjoy ciders, beer or wine from the bar while you shop around the marketplace. 2- incredible world foods selection! Everything Whole Foods has and more- from healthy cheese puffs to hand pressed nut butters; Amish butter and exotic fruits! 3- a foodie's dream! So many unique and interesting items. There is so much to try! 4- seasonal gifts, kitchenware, tchotchkes, party supplies and more! I had so much fun browsing this section of the store. 5- flowers for DAYS! Their selection is seriously insane. A florist's dreamland for ideas, color schemes, custom arrangements and more. 6- gelato bar. As a self-proclaimed gelato extraordinaire, I particularly enjoyed their beautiful display of flavors and the creamy, hand crafted gelato on premise. 7- beer and wine selection. And they even trust you to meander through the aisles while clutching a glass of some great craft beer. Happy hour on Mondays from 4-7 p.m. Everything in here feels fresh. Great produce. Honey crisp apples at the best price-per-pound that I've ever seen. Massive craft beer and wine selection. Full deli with ready to eat faves like pizza, salads, breads, soups (the lobster bisque is to die for!), and sandwiches. Huge cafe with lots of comfy seating. Greenhouse in the front of the store that still sells lemon trees in the dead of winter. Try to find *that* at Aldi! Homemade popcorn that is seriously special, comes in dozens of flavors, and leaves you downright teary eyed. I can't believe I hadn't yet been here. For the past couple of years, this place has been going downhill completely when you enter the store, the first initial part with the plants, jewelry clothes, glassware, etc. everything completely way overpriced. Enter the store with the produce, lighting is bad around the berry section. Not sure the reason for it exactly, but I always hold the berries up to the lights and tip the carton upside down to make sure I don't see any mold, etc. Also purchased a personal watermelon items when I got home I put them directly in the fridge. Two days, two days... Raspberries were completely spoiledand moldy and the watermelon. I could stick my finger right through it. And this is happened more than one occasion at Horrocks so they're so overpriced but I understand why no one goes there anymore. read more

Was told to leave cuase I brought my dog with inside,but I saw lots of people with there dogs and most of them where not dogs for disabled people it was only one person that told me that I can for sure say it was discrimination I have gone to that store for 2 years and this the first time anyone told me anything about my small dog he wasn't barking or being aggressive to no-one so tell me Horrock why now after 2 years of walking in the store with my dog why !? read more
