This is precisely why I researched beer joints in advance, and was so delighted to find La Beata. Walking into La Beata, it smelled like a good beer spot should. Heavy hops aroma, particularly of the ipa varieties. Looking at the menu on the wall to the left, I saw it was full of ipas and they were all local Catalan varieties (yes!) My partner and I came here a couple times and got a couple ipas each visit. If hazy, juice bombs are your thing, you will find them here. You'll also find some more traditional west coast varieties, though all good nonetheless. I should note they had other beer varieties too, along with a full bar worth of liquor. But so glad they represented quality local ipas so we'll. Highly recommend!

Having spent half an hour chatting with co-owner Albert in the beer shop the day prior, I decided to wander by their bar the next day and try some more of their beers. They have 9 taps and then a ton of bottled beers, including a new favorite of mine: carrot cake beer! (Yep, #sobasic.) Another of the owners was behind the bar that Thursday, the lovely half-Spanish half-Swedish Carl, who spoke fantastic English and took amazing care of me. They open at 6 PM mid week so it's a great spot for a post-work beer or two. The prices are good for the quality, and the customer service is unbeatable.
