The selection of books is amazing , their is lots of toys , games and everything for collectors or last minute gifts at great value some is a bit pricey though so look at the discount areas if your on a budget , the service is ok it could be better , my only complaints is their starbucks, my coffee had little to no caramel flavor and I ordered the caramel ribbon crunch, and my brownie is cold , wasn't even asked if I wanted it warmed up , also I suggest bringing your own straw if you dont like paper straws as thats all that give you read more

Well, it's New Years Day. Yes, made it thru and wish all a positive 2021. Some stores are closed, but Barnes & Noble? Not in your life. The place is not crowded but steady. All the stores are set up the same, fiction, non fiction, popular, children's, journals, gift packages, games etc. Staff is knowledgeable and friendly. Social distancing is adhered. This Barnes and Noble is a great spot to hangout and read a good book. I have often brought my work here and sat in the cafe with it. They have free Wifi and plenty of outlets to charge your phone and computer. The cafe is reasonably priced and has great food, snacks, and coffee. The entire store has a ton of different sections based off of what you are currently reading. I love coming here to browse and have a moment of peace and quiet. Great place to grab a book, or use their cafe coffee bar to get some homework done. Being an online college student, I think it's difficult to find a quiet spot with WiFi to write essays. Today I came as I always do, but the coffee bar girls are laughing so hard at each other that I can't even concentrate (mind you, the only thing I'm hearing is about their Tinder matchups). I get this isn't a library, but everyone around me is also working on their laptops. Other than that, I'd definitely come back here. They have tons of book options and if something isn't in stock they'll order it for you at customer service. read more

I don't know why this Barnes and Noble has so many bad reviews (bedsides the two below). It's a nice bookstore. If you are looking for a cook book, fiction novel, book of poetry, children's books, the latest best seller, you will find it at Barnes and Noble. The Brick location is usually well stocked and if you they don't have what you are looking for, you can order online or ask them to order for you at the customer service desk. I'm an academic, so they almost never have the history books I am looking for, but they do have many of the books you would need for higher education online! Plus, if you are a member (barnes and noble), you get free shipping on any online purchases for just 25 dollars a year. It's a good deal. 10 percent off on any purchase at the cafe too! Speaking of the cafe, yes it is crowded. Yes, you will most likely have to wait in line to get your latte, but the staff does a good job and you will be satisfied with whatever you order (as long as you like starbucks! haha!). There are NO book stores in Brick, so you have to expect crowds. Usually you can find a seat if you look, but there is only one outlet. This is my chief complaint. I recommend bringing an extension cord, one with multiple outlets, that way not only you can charge your lap top, but others can too! Overall, I find Barnes and Noble to be what it is- a barnes and noble!! If you really want good coffee and less crowds, go to one of the many independent coffee shops in the area! If you need an obscure history book (like I do most of the time), go on amazon or visit your university library! Barnes and Noble in Brick is a comfortable environment to gaze for pleasure reading, a magazine, or buy a nice leather bound journal for a friend. It's easy to get lost in Barnes & Noble when you aren't used to shopping in a particular location. You would think that all the stores would be set up slightly similar, but that's not the case. I had a hard time finding the fiction section in this store. It's not where I'm used to seeing it. Not sure why there are so many negative reviews for this location. I thought it was clean and well stocked. The Starbucks area is very large inside with plenty of tables. It's in a very nice shopping plaza too so that is always a plus. read more

I remember when this location used to be Woolworth's before the Brick Plaza renovation in the 90s. When it first opened this Barnes and Noble was great. Unfortunately it hasn't undergone much renovation or even maintenance in the last 20 years. The bathrooms are almost always pretty filthy here. It's much smaller than their newer locations and is home to the the only Starbucks location in Brick. read more

I like this location. It's well stocked, have good displays, always tidy, free wifi, welcoming staff and have a Starbucks too! I reserved a book online for pick up before I headed over which is always a plus if it's a in demand new title! My only problem is there aren't enough seats unless you sit in the Starbucks area or on the benches over at the magazines. I know it's not a library but the one thing I like about B&N are the comfy seats. They do have a great selection of magazines! I pay $25 for annual membership. You get 40% off hard cover books and 10% off anything else in the store. In addition, you also get free shipping on online purchases. For a reader, it's definitely worth it. read more

I always love a good bookstore, especially one with a Starbucks attached, however this one lacks the Optimal Starbucks work environment. First off, there are only two outlets to plug into and one of them does not function. A major blow, if your machine dies quickly or if you plan on spending the day working at this location. Second, the Music is not as varied. The same elevator ballad seems to play continuously. Thirdly, the view is not so great, just a panoramic view of the parking lot. All in all a good environment to sit down and get some work done while eavesdropping on other peoples conversations. read more

I have to agree with some of you yelpers, the bathrooms here are a mess! Suggestion - assign someone to check on them every hour. On week days the atmosphere is nice you can get your study on or just come in and read a magazine, on the weekends its some what packed and loud. The Cafe is hit or miss. It depends who makes your drink. If you have a Barnes & noble member card you get a small discount on the purchases in the cafe. read more

The staff is great. All of the book sellers are really helpful. The cafe workers are so much fun, and love talking to customers. The only complaints I have are that the bathroom tends to need cleaning most of the time, and there is only one electrical outlet in the cafe. If multiple people are trying to get work done on their devices, it becomes a problem since only two people can plug in at once. read more

I love Barnes and noble. Unfortunately the woman who works in the children's department at this store is very rude. I've talked to a few people who had the same exact issue. She won't let you take books out to look at or read so you can pick something out. This is why amazon is closing these type of businesses down. read more

I love Barnes And Noble, and I try to stop in at one as often as possible. I've been to various locations in NJ, as well as in other states I've traveled to. This particular location in Brick, NJ is a bit smaller than just about any other one I've visited (I really enjoyed the two-story location in Richmond, VA), but they pack a lot of books into the narrow aisles. They have a good selection of magazines, and even though I could probably save money by subscribing to my favorites, I enjoy actually going to the store to buy them. I love the fact that Barnes and Noble encourages people to relax and take their time browsing for books. Nobody yells at you if you take the time to read the first chapter of a book to see how you like it. The Brick BnN has a Starbuck's inside, and my wife and I usually get a beverage on the way out. As with any Starbuck's, they are a bit overpriced, but they do honor my BnN membership card, so I can get a discount on our purchases. This location gets only 4 stars from me rather than 5 due to a few things. First, they sell a lot of other things besides books, and they take up a lot of room with games and collectibles, most of which are overpriced and don't seem to sell. Secondly, the bathroom needs a serious renovation or, shy of that, a thorough and regular cleaning. I suppose that many people who go to work at a bookstore probably don't want any part of cleaning bathrooms, but it's got to be done. Third, the parking lot absolutely sucks! They share space with an Applebee's, so forget getting a decent spot at happy hour, or on a Friday or Saturday evening. There's been a lot of talk in recent years that Barnes and Noble will eventually close its physical locations and be an exclusively online bookseller. I hope that never happens. Browsing through a bookstore is a nice alternative to other entertainment options, which are dwindling in number each year. read more
