My favorite B&N... the closest to my house. Every single time I come here I leave with at least one new book, either for me or for one of my kids. They have a Starbucks, a big anime section and my favorite, a good Spanish section. Si hablas Español y quieres leer tanto a autores latinoamericanos como libros populares en Español, aquí encontrarás algo para ti.

Came in to get another book for my collection. First time in a while I had a free morning to myself to just sit and people watch. To just read my book in quiet. To enjoy my Starbucks. To enjoy my Pellegrino. To not hear what was going on around me except all the new music out. I'm a huge music lover. And I mean ALL TYPES. So getting to hear all the new artist or new songs via my paid music app is just very relaxing. It was pretty quiet for the first hour. I guess Thursday is a good day to come in early. Not too crowded. I truly enjoyed myself and my free time. I think I will pencil this free time into my schedule like all my other thousand appointments LoL

Love bookstores. Yes, I can order books online at a cheaper price or buy e books or even audio books but there is nothing like sitting down with an actual book in your hands and getting lost in it. There is just something about the the smell of books mixed with the aroma of freshly brewed coffee that I find both calming and entrancing all at once. As soon as you walk in, that unique scent and feeling consumes you. The employees here are very friendly and knowledgeable. As soon as I mention the title of a book, they know exactly where it is without even looking it up. I always use their coupons I receive through email, it saves tons of money considering how much I spend on books. They have this yearly membership program that saves you 10% on books but you have to pay $25.00 dollars a year. I just can't justify that. I doesn't make sense to pay to get a discount. My bookcases are getting pretty hefty and I'm running out of space for new bookcases so I'm trying to cut back on buying books and simply checking them out at the library. Still, walking through a bookstore is for me one of life's simple pleasures.

The Barnes & Noble offer a wide variety of mangas to chose from. Personally my favorites are My Hero Academia and Kakegurui are my favorite shonen manga. Its a great place to start collecting manga.

Jackpot--they had exactly what I was looking for! First, I have to mention the book bar inside, First Draft. We didn't actually get a chance to go in, but I absolutely love the convenience of having a bookshop and bar together. And I especially love a good play on words, so if I'd had more time and hadn't had my teenager with me, I definitely would have checked it out! Anyway, I walked in and cut right to the chase, asking an employee where I could find the postcards. They pointed me in the right direction, and I found them immediately. We were on a bit of a time crunch, so I didn't get the chance to explore EVERYTHING they had, but I easily could have spent quite a while browsing the books, trinkets, gifts, and all the other fun things throughout the store. Then something caught my eye that I was SO excited about--the mini print vending machine! I had seen these on TikTok before, including ones in San Francisco, so finding one here was a really pleasant surprise. I dug around in my purse and managed to come up with enough quarters to get two prints. I absolutely loved the prints, and they made such a fun and affordable souvenir to bring home. It was one of those unexpected little finds that made the stop even better. My only complaint is that I didn't have more time to explore. I would have loved to browse the store longer and grab a drink at First Draft. Changing Hands is definitely a little gem in the Phoenix area, and I'm glad another store pointed me in their direction!

My sister and I had just visited their Tempe location and were delighted in how similar but different this Changing Hands was from Tempe's shop. Namely, this Changing Hands has a little area for coffee, booze, and bites. Just like the Tempe shop, they have an amazing selection of books and gift items and so much more. I find their prices to be so fair, especially for a fairly small indie bookshop--support small book sellers! We also loved that this shop has a tiny art print vending machine...think of the sticker machines from your childhood that traded quarters for stickers...but cooler!

I like how friendly the staff is at the establishment; they are always welcoming you with a warm smile the moment you walk in and are happy to answer any questions you have about books. Since I have come to appreciate reading and writing over the years, I enjoy visiting this bookstore because it has a nice, quiet atmosphere, and I have found some interesting books there that I can see serving as inspiration down the road. The last time I visited the store, I noticed an older lady having trouble reaching a book, so I helped her get it, and she appreciated the kind gesture. I always enjoy helping others in need. Another thing I like about this store is its book prices, and I can totally see myself purchasing a book from them in the future. Every experience at the store has been enjoyable, and I look forward to stopping by the next time I am in the Youngtown area.

Had to check it out because other than Barnes & Noble there isn't much in bookstores on the west valley. Tons of used books. This isn't a place for new books. But if you wait a month or two you might find a new book that's been traded in. Their books are in overall great condition. Some of the best condition I have seen for used books. I found a book from my favorite author I've never seen before and a leather bound Louie Lamore book for 10 bucks! The staff is SUPER friendly and they do trade ins up to 33% of the books original value.

They have a small inventory of books available for purchase and I did appreciate the variety the book genres they had. Prices were what you'd expect for brand new books. There were lots of places to sit, including some comfy couches. The woman working was really nice. They have an area to purchase drinks and snacks. When we arrived, I realized I remembered this spot from when I was a kid, I just hadn't been back since I was younger. This spot is absolutely STUFFED with books, comic books, VHS tapes and more. You could spend quite a long time wandering around looking at all of the books they have to offer. It can be slightly overwhelming especially if you are looking for something specific as there wasn't really any clear guidance on where to find certain sections. We still had a lot of fun though wandering around and seeing what we could find. If you are looking for the prices, they are written in pencil on the inside of the books. You can find a mixture of mostly used books along with some new books. They have a cute shop cat that you can sometimes spot wandering around, or asleep at the front. The woman who was working the register the day we visited was friendly! They also had a cart out-front with a number of books that were free to grab. There is plenty of parking out-front.

Once I was got to the store, I had to explore. I think that if one were to regularly visit Books, he/she would find some rare editions and other gems. Also, they had what looked like reproductions of banned book announcements posted around the store: all were of classic novels that we can't imagine not having access to as students. (See photos: Charlotte's Web, Huck Finn, Fahrenheit 451...) They were quite entertaining, in a disturbing way. They had the effect of making me feel so grateful that past efforts of censorship in the US had failed. In 2024, this is still a real threat. Tiny stores like this one are real treasures. Let's keep them in business.
