I have always been an avid reader. I remember the first book I read; I believe I was in junior high, about 12 years old. My mom bought me Sweet Valley High about these twin sisters, a book series. She would take me on the weekends downtown to the bookstores and libraries. So, I'm happy that bookstores are making a return in a big way. I like the feel of a book, flipping the pages, and going into the stores. I never could get use to the Kindle. Barnes & Noble has always been my number one. Now, there are lots of smaller bookstores, and people crowd them, and I sometimes go there if I'm meeting a friend who doesn't read much. But Mr. Barnes & Noble has my heart, like so many other readers. As you can see, there are rows of books, plenty of room to sit, and you know, this store has a very impressive area for children's books, the Llama Red Pajamas, Creepy Series, etc. This location I'm going to make it my home for reading on the weekends. It's a nice store, and as I stated before, there are lots of books and plenty of room. Oh, and a big selection of toys. read more

Customer service was useless, I was given a general area to look for a specific book. I wasn't able to find it, so I'm just going to order it on Amazon. What is the point of a customer service desk if they won't even show you where the specific item is? This is why brick and mortar stores are going to start failing. Service is now their best way to retain customers, and this location has none. read more

Cows only require 2 things in life. Barns (to sleep in) and No Bull (who wants to get rammed by a bull, so to speak. Not the cows I know). This store promises both, but provides neither... false advertising. This is the Barnes & Noble located at the Deerbrook Mall in Humble, and it's a cool place to stop and look for books and magazines and hang out for a little bit. On the other hand, it's not as extensive as some of the large Barnes and Nobles around the country, and it seems a little bit more low-rent. I noticed the packs of maniacal kids running through here, and why not. But it makes it a different atmosphere, shall we say, to what B&N customers might be used to. read more

I really enjoy this B&N. They've got quite the selection of Polish books which no other one seems to have. They have knowledgeable people who work there and are willing to help. It's clean and organized and I believe they have reading for children at this location. read more

Says they open till 7pm but that's only if the employees feel like working. About 4 different families and I got here at 6pm and the employee kicked us all out claiming they were closed. read more

The employee at Starbucks was sweet when I asked her a question. This store is connected to the mall. It has a good selection of books but not many seating areas other than Starbucks. And this location does not have any outlets at the Starbucks or in general if you are interested in going to do work or anything of that sort. But overall an okay location. read more

I am obsessed with books !!! I Iove having an actual book where I can smell the new book smell as well as flip through the pages myself. I am probably one of the few that are left who is anti e-books!!! This Barnes and Nobel has a friendly staff and will help you find a book when it is a snake and will bite you in the butt. I did purchase a member card through them because on the long run it will save me $$$ on the end. I just hope that book stores won't disappear forever! read more

While visiting Barnes and Noble this afternoon I decided to grab coffee at the Starbucks inside of the store Before I continue, this is a favorite bookstore for me...great customer service, nice in every way This Starbucks however, has the worst customer service I have ever encountered I gather the employees were angry with each other...while i was standing in line, i was never greeted...the counter person was having a conversation with (it sounded like another employee, "higher up" than she) Another employee walked out and looked at me so I assumed she was going to help me, but it was difficult to understand her since she was speaking with her mouth full! But I did understand that "no" she was not going to help me...after i was FINALLY helped there was no skim milk for my skinny latte I said thank you but no thanks The employee behind counter was still upset and just plain rude...i will not returm This behavior should never occur when customers are supposed to enjoy their experiences read more

This mall is near IAH and so I nipped in to grab a couple of reads for my layover. They had a pretty decent graphic novel/manga section. I don't know what the future is for bookstores in our kindle-obsessed society, but I'm still grateful for B&N no matter what state I'm in. read more

I am a fan. This store is one of my faves, and a staple for my family's outings. Every chance we get we go to the cafe. I have noticed terrible decline on the service, wait time, cleaningness of the cafe area. I suggest they hire more staff to concentrate on the cafe area only as the rest of the store seems pretty clean and organized. read more

This is the nearest Barnes and Noble to my home but from now on I think I am going to drive out of my way to shop at another location. I hate that it is an anchor store for the mall so most of the traffic is just passing through to get to the rest of the mall. It is always so crowded with people that aren't even shopping there. Perhaps that's why the employees rarely if ever interact with you and ask if they can help. Also there may be a LOT of books, but I went in looking for three specific new releases and they didn't have any of them. I know they can order them, but I can order them cheaper and get them faster on my own. I go to a bookstore for the experience of browsing and getting book I'm excited about. You can't do either at this location. Im about to give up my Barnes & Noble membership - not really worth it when you don't like the shopping experience. read more

Though I've had my run-ins with some people that looked as if they could care less about my presence when assisting me in the customer service island I've got to say, at 8:13pm on April 23 2019 i had a really great shopping experiance and not due to the browsing and such. But for the customer service itself. I found the books i needed and headed to the check out nearest to 59 north and waited in line as someone was returning a book (for reasons unknown to me) and finally stepped up to pay. There i met a girl named Arissa that was fairly new but well spoken and friendly, she was charming and didn't attempt to rush me out of there and held a conversation. She told me of the membership and how much I'd save but didn't try to shove it down my throat as others have done. It may seem trivial to some but to me those little things are what matters. If anything I'd recommend you go out of your way to speak to some of the employees and build a more solid and pleasing experiance for when you next visit any store. Overall the quality of the books are by far solid and well made (no stains from coffee or food from the Starbucks cafe found yet) and the afternoon staff is great. They're knowledgeable and friendly. Clean book store. Organized in different sections. We found a harry potter section that day that I had never seen before. They do have a kid section for The kids to sit and read. The cashier was just a cashier not friendly but not rude. I just overall feel like it's a typical book store. read more

The only bookstore in the Kingwood/Humble area, and thankfully it's well stocked and well kept. If you can't find something you need on their shelves, they'll order it for you from their central customer service desk in the store. This place can get crowded on weekends, but that's to be expected. It's also a major entrance and exit for the rest of the mall, so there can be some heavy foot traffic in the aisles. Still, it's a great place for books, movies, gifts, and more. read more

The WORST customer service I've ever experienced. I hardly ever review a place unless it's amazing or terrible and this is one of them. I tried to get help from 3 different people and they were all extremely rude and short with me. One even looked me up and down, laughed then informed me she could help me because she worked in the music department... I will never ever come back here again. Horrible service from Jeremiah. Had an attitude with us because we asked for a refund on chips that were expired. Also noticed he had an extra charge for sweetener in my tea. Where have you ever been and need charged for sweetener in you sweet tea? When I brought it to his attention he said that how it is and they always charge for it. I have been there several times to this exact location and have never been charged before nor at any other starbucks. read more

I had a rather poor experience at the Starbucks coffee shop at this location. I ordered coffee expecting there to be a thermos of milk next to the half-and-half at the prep station but there was none. When I asked the Barista for milk he rudely informed me that they usually charge for that and would charge for that the next time I asked as he poured about one quarter of a teaspoon of milk from the bottom of his steam cup into my coffee. I don't think I've ever been treated rudely at a Starbucks before this. read more

Would recommend this Barnes and Nobles to anyone and everyone. I go here to relax and enjoy the book fragrance and the helpful employees. When I am stressed or uneasy I come here to see all the neatly stacked books, with its immense variety. Even at times when I can't afford anything I go and bulk up "to read" book list. I am an avid reader, and book lover, but this store is so easy to navigate anyone of anyone level of reading can find something they could enjoy here. read more
